I noticed that alot of textures i like come from different texture packs. I tried making a zip file of a mix between default texture pack and a few other ones, but that didn't work. It showed an "unknown" texture pack with no text. When I loaded it, it didn't load at all. It reverted to the default texture pack.
Then I tried editing the mincraft.jar texture files directly. It worked like a charm, but now my clock is broken. How do I fix/prevent the clock from being broken? I have plenty of backups so I don't have to worry about anything else.

2 Things I want from Minecraft: 1. The ability to disable Passive Mob Spawning in Creative Worlds(as in no cows, horses, pigs, sheep, squid, wolves, ocelots, horses or donkeys). 2. Make Healing Potions Instant Drink(Simple right click instead of holding down for 1.6 seconds).
Yeah I need to learn how to MAKE texture packs as opposed to just downloading them.

Yeah, well... you need the texture pack files, an additional pack.png (the pack's image in the texture pack list) and a pack.txt (the pack's description). For custom clocks or compasses to work, you need to install Xau's HD texture Patch.
To create a working texture pack folder you need to compress the texture pack contents, not the folder they are in. Hope this helped with that part. :biggrin.gif:
