Unfortunately, I can't make the text any more even. I spent hours trying various methods. MCPatcher just doesn't space it right. Optifine does it perfectly though. Go figure.
Anyway, I'm afraid I like the spindly text, so it's here to stay. If you really don't like it, it's super easy to toss a different default.png font file into the font folder of the pack. Just take one from any other pack.
Another note on the font, simply changing the size of the GUI can make a world of difference. For me with Optifine, small is unreadable, and large appears slightly distorted, while normal, and auto look amazing.
Love the way this is coming along. At first I was worried about the changing of the stone texture, but was just playing around a little with the most recent snapshot you posted, and I'm loving it so far. Definitely one of my favorite packs.

Yeah the font doesn't do too well on large, but then again, I don't think many fonts do. It's because the large setting scales it up 150% normal, which causes problems with the font trying to deal with some of the pixels being half-filled. Something like that. But most people play on auto anyway I think.
Glad you like the stone stuff. It ends up looking pretty darn good in most cases. I'm satisfied at least.
So I've been using this pack for a long time; Only then with Tekkit. Recently (I say recent, might have been months already. Quit Tekkit for a while.) however, it's began to bug up the background for me. I'm not sure what changed either in the pack or in Tekkit's side, but I was wondering if there was still any way to make it work with this pack. I'm fine with the Tekkit items still looking like the default ones (I've always used it like that.), but it's hard to leave the rest of the awesome textures behind.
I've added a screenshot of the problem; Is there any way I can fix that by deleting a texture file somewhere? (I'm not too knowledgeable on texturepacks. All I know is; It used to work, now it has this.. Inventory issue. The rest of the menus and such work though, just the inventory.)
Thanks for looking at it, if there's no fix then I'll have to move on it seems. :3 I know it isn't supported, but it's worth a shot!
Weird. The stuff behind your items is a file that makes the tabs for creative inventory. No idea why it's using them as your inventory alone. I really don't know anything about Tekkit. Does it do anything like this with other packs?
Thanks for the quick reply! I've tested two other packs quickly (Doh, should have done that to begin with) and ran across the same issue with one of them.
Added two screens. Both are 32x packs. I didn't add any links as I didn't want to advertise other texturepacks. I really love this one.
Happy new year on that note!
As for Tekkit; Tekkit is basically an overhaul of Minecraft with a lot more mods added into it. It contains the default textures of MC, but is patched to allow for HD texturepacks and such already. I don't need optifine or MCpatcher to load other texturepacks. :3 At least, I never needed that in the past. I think trying to load that over the Tekkit files breaks it even. xD As it's already patched and all.
But Derivation did do it. Those banners are his creative inventory tabs.
I don't know much about Tekkit or Forge(isn't that something you use to make it compatible, along with HD packs) but I seem to remember Forge HD packs compatibility patching is really... patchy. Just doesn't cover everything. I would bet that you do need MCPatcher or Optifine after all. As you said though, they may be incompatible.
I wouldn't complain if you did advertise Derivation at least. Levaunt is a boss; I despair at his excellent pixel art.
Ah I see! I'll try running those and post back tomorrow with any update. Derivation is by no means bad, just not my style. ^^
If all else fails; Guess I'll complain at the Tekkit guys for not adding an all-covering HD patch method. (That's the issue, right?) Well, that. Or just the compatibility.
From what I've heard yeah. Shoeboxam of Soartex Fanver mentioned to me once that Forge leaves a lot to be desired in terms of HD pack support.
Hey
Just wanted to ask, if you have an approx. date for 27 I Can't wait! That transparent glass is really kind of weird looking on my medieval buildings haha
So, to return with the promised news. It's not working out. Restored the game folders after each install.
Tried manually patching with Optifine, no changes what so ever. Game still runs fine. Tried it with the HD versions (all of them for 1.2.5. Smooth, AA, etc )Not sure if any of the other versions matter. (Used the 1.2.5 version since Tekkit still uses 1.2.5 MC)
Tried patching through MCPatcher:
- HD Texture, HD font, Better skies, Custom colors = Crash. Upon logging in it turns to a blue screen and refuses to load on apart from a few pixels.
- HD Texture, HD Font, Better skies = Working game, still same error in the background.
Shame, I really loved this pack but the messed up window in creative mode makes it hard to use. Perhaps it'll work again in the future when something on Tekkit's side changes; I got no idea, but one can hope.
Edit2; I ended up fiddling with the pack, and just resorted to deleting the 'Allinventory' picture in the GUI folder, making it resort back to it's basic menu. Now it works. Funny stuff. I'll tinker on. With that discovery; Can I rename any file or replace it with the one it should be to solve the bug? (Instead of having the default menu?)
Copied list_items.png out of the creative_inv folder , renamed it to allinventory.png ; No success. That one looked like what it should be. Still using the default menu.
Well there's your problem: 1.2.5. I didn't know you were playing on an old MC version. That file for the creative inventory tabs used to be the creative inventory, I think. I had to redraw it as tabs when 1.3 or whatever came out.
Noooooo! What happened to the beautiful glass between snapshot version 26G and 26I?
I loved the glass in snapshot 26G
As Schwyzerminer mentioned above me, that glass doesn't look good with medieval builds, and since that's what most people build, I'm changing it. This isn't its final form though. Going to try to figure out some really good stuff later.
Feared that. I don't suppose you got a pre 1.3. image still laying around? (Logic: 1.3 is too new, use older image? No idea if that's a valid thought.)

Today. Just have one texture left to make good before I update.
I've got both still saved on my computer. If I have your permission, and the poster still using 1.2.5 wants, I can send it over to them to see if it works?

That would be fine, but I don't think he needs it. It has some older textures too, so why take a step backwards?

We are in disagreement.
I haven't seen the wood yet, but I disagree about the text. I actually love it
Good.
Here's the latest snapshot if you want to see the new woods. Nobody else but the guy above has said they don't like them, so I'm satisfied.
the wood was a bad download that got corrupted, re-downloaded and its fine.
but i think the text need to be a bit bolder and more even, at least for the chat. (see linked picture)

Yeah, here's an old allitems.png. It's the old gui, but at least you'll have a proper inventory. I hope.

Hey no problem, honored to serve. Thanks for using my pack.
I think v19 was 1.2.5 era. Not sure though.
