Awesome textures. I really like the new stone bricks! Only thing i dont like in this pack is the sandstone. I guess you were going for a more natural look, but i prefer a more brick like texture. Like in the default. Any plans on changing it?
I absolutely LOVE this tp..but it needs 64x resolution or higher.. it would greatly improve upon what you have here. Perhaps some time in the future?
No, I won't be making a 64x pack. I prefer 32x resolution packs because I like the pixelation and the cleverness of illusions that are necessary to create a texture with such limited definition. Besides a 64x pack would be a whole other pack, and would take months to a year to complete.
this is an AMAZING texture pack, my only complaint is the glass. it doesn't look very good with connected textures. would you ever consider adding deformities in the glass to make it look more realistic? like as if people with limited tools available to them made it?
I'm amazed of this texture pack, is this the only pack that has epic skies? I hasn't seen a single other texture pack with such epic feature keep it up!
there's one small issue with the mossy cobble stone wall fence not being mossy but stone =:B

Just wanted to say I saw this texture pack in one of your videos (I think the tour of your first world) and was interested. Mainly the sun/moon dealy...that's the only real reason I ever get interested in texture packs usually. But I was quite surprised.
I'll admit, at first I was like "eh...not so hot..." and that was because I noted it can be rather hard to tell iron ore from the stone around it. I also had a short moment of disliking the smooth stone texture, but then I noticed how well it synergizes with cobble stone while at the same time being distinct. So you can actually make very good looking walls that are conglomerations of the two without it looking bad!
Then...then I got topside...and later got deeper into an unexplored part of the cave. Another complaint I typically have about texture packs is that they usually make it difficult to tell where you need to place a torch without counting out the actual distances...but in this one its surprisingly simple thanks to the lighting coloration effect. Natural light looks natural, torch light looks like fire light, and darkness looks dark. So if you see a dark splotch? You need a torch! That effect in and of itself makes this texture pack not only nice and lovely, but practical as well.
As for above ground, I find that it gives everything a very norse feel, which I personally think fits extremely well with Minecraft. The grass looks grassy, the sheep are ugly (which is how they are supposed to look xD), and the cows are yaks! Or at least I think that's a yak... the water...oh wow....the water was beautiful. The surface, yeah, it's pretty. High def texture packs usually have pretty water. But its when you get below the surface...oh man that was beautiful. I've been in some of the loveliest waters in the world (at least to my reckoning) and this reminded me of them.
I love the way you changed the UI. It's much more old-fashioned RPG feel (kinda Diablo-ish), which fits very well both with the norse them as well as Minecraft in general. Experience orbs are smaller and iridescent, which just looks better. Plain and simple. Speaking of...dat XP bar!
But, there are a few drawbacks and things I feel could use some improvement. These may be simple opinions, but still. First, as noted before, the iron ore is difficult to recognize at a distance because of how the colors blend under torch light. Making iron ore more distinctive would be appreciated. I said before that I loved the way dark spots were obvious, but there's also a downside here. Well...half a downside... Dark, unexplored places in caves are pretty much completely impenetrable to the eye. While this is entirely realistic, this detracts a little bit from the Minecraft experience in that it makes it much more difficult to spelunk when you can't see from which way that cave spider is coming at you. Again...this has both the pro and con. I suppose it's really a matter of personal choice. Another... the shovel doesn't look like a shovel...more like a club. And all the tools are extra pixelated. I did not feel that the tools looked better than the originals. A final complaint would be in relation to snow. I found that it is impossible to tell the difference between a snow block and a block with snow on top of it. This is also likely a matter of personal choice, but at the same time this could lead to some issues like unintentional griefing.
My two cents on this texture pack. Not worth much, I know.

I always dread real critiques like this because I'm afraid that people are about to rip my pack a new one, so thanks for all the praise you dispensed with your opinions.
I agree with you just about all of what you said. There are many things that need improving, and I'm slowly trying to do that.
Iron ore will be changed in the upcoming v27, along with all the other ores, because I redid stone. It's going to be more flat like default.
Here, take a look at what I've got done so far, if you like. Pewpewpew! Stone bricks, cobble, smooth stone, stone slab - basically all the stone stuff is different. Still not finished though. Need's polishing, and ores haven't been redone to blend with the new stone.
Tools will be entirely redone, in time, and so will the rest of the item sheet. I just usually like to do terrain stuff first, so I've been putting items off.
So much to do. I'll get this pack in ship-shape eventually. Just takes time. I'm a slow artist. Until that, enjoy as best you can!

Yeah, glass isn't quite where I want it. Consider current glass to be a temp. I agree it should look less manufactured - more imperfections, like the person who made it wasn't an expert. Other things in the pack have priority right now though. I'll get back to glass later.

It's not the only pack with Better Skies. There are a few others - John Smith and Derivation are a couple notable ones, but there are others out there.
Okay, downloaded and applied the 26d update. I REALLY like that stone texture! And now cobblestone looks cobbled! And the way the stone bricks looks more like ancient masonry rather than sophisticated renaissance architecture REALLY fits well, especially with those bridges from spawn on the chilldy server.
Also? Netherwart and soul sand look creeeeeepy....I feel like the soul sand is making me slower by reaching up and grabbing at my legs....while looking at me...
EDIT: LE GASP! You actually made emerald blocks look GOOD! D:
This texture pack is gorgeous! I was originally going to go with DokuCraft, which is an amazing upgrade to the original Minecraft textures that I am currently using, but when I came across your YouTube videos and saw the lovely textures I knew immediately that I had to have them. Thank you so much for posting this for us to download. You are a very talented artist, and I must say I am inspired!
I love this texture pack, though I miss your old version of cobbestone stairs as well as the older version of wood (more seemless before). But I am having a problem-
The sky appears white, night and day. I used MCPatcher and still, no go. If I change render distance to short or tiny, the sky looks dark at night but no moon, and besides I rather have it set to normal. Any ideas why this might be happening?

No I don't, not with any certainty, sorry. I've never heard of it doing that before. Do any other packs with Better Skies do it? Try John Smith's pack to see. It could be a video card incompatibility or a conflict with another mod, if you have others installed.

All I have added to minecraft are texture packs, no additional mods. With John Smiths I get clouds but still a white sky. However when I try the previous version of inspiration it works, and the sky has the updated version of your moon and sun, Odd, and a bit frustrating. The computer is 4 years old though, which I guess is getting old by computer standards and it did have 2 blue screen crashes last week, which prompted me to back the whole thing up just in case and save for a new one. Maybe it is the video card. It is possible it is too old or it is actually the problem.
edit- when it rains the sky turns to the correct color- the moment it stops it goes back to white.
EDIT AGAIN-
Never mind I apparently fixed the problem- I ran MCPatcher without better skies checked and voila- i have sky.
Used in creating a wallpaper for a server.

The wallpaper is not for any commercial use it is only going to be used by the server's players and it is not going to be used for making money. Thank you.
Is it the texture pack? What can I do to fix this?
It is probably related to the fact that I've done a lot of work on my skies. I've made it compatible with Better Skies mod, and I've also got a custom skycolor.png in there, which changes the color of the sky depending on what biome you're in.
Ah.. that must be it. The new biomes they have added must be reading off of areas of skycolor.png that I have colored black, since those areas aren't used in vanilla biomes.

Also, just out of curiosity, are you working on the armor for the texture pack? The new iron armor looks AWESOME, and I'm anxious to see what you'll do with the others.

Well, damn. Those must be using black areas of foliagecolor.png. I'll have to change that later though, too busy right now.

maybe turn your brightness down?

For some reason the new biomes that the mod adds has black skies and textures. Other packs don't have this problem.
I can easily get supported files from another texture pack and put it in this texture pack, but it's STILL black, so i'm totally confused.
Minecraft default texture pack (no support):

Here's a fix: Skycolor0.png
1. download that,
2. go to your texturepacks folder
3. open my pack
4. open the misc folder
5. drop skycolor0.png into misc folder
6. okay the changes
That should fix it. I'll make sure any future versions of my pack will have this fixed.
Cool, but as you can see here:

It fixed the skies, but not the textures. =/

Nope. I just found out it's an issue with the grasscolor.png file. When I deleted the file the black went away.
