great texture pack dude!i also love your youtube .i would subscribe but i have no youtube because i have no way to record...
You don't have to upload videos to have a youtube account. If you have gmail, just use that to register. Or just create an account and not upload.
They don't take accounts down for not uploading That's what I've done for over 2 years until recently.
@Tobi - Loving the update! Thankfully your change to the brick hasn't ruined any of my buildings I designed around your pack (with the bricks being grey) probably party as I made sure they looked good with the default as well.
The other changes I've seen so far are good too. Happy with it all, but haven't had much of a chance to really look at things.
I must say, I tried your pack with the BiomeWater mod (after reducing the colour saturation of the water animations by 75%) and it just looks beautiful :smile.gif:
Of course BiomeWater only works with OptiFine and NOT MCPatcher due to a class conflict. ScreenShots within 12hrs hopefully :smile.gif:
I don't think I've mentioned how much I like your texture pack, on this thread.
It's pretty amazing.
I do believe it's been mentioned above, but the gravel, stone, and clay look a bit similar.
And for someone who sort of has colour blindness, it kid of sucks. xD
Me - "Stone?" gravel
Me - "Clay?" stone
/facepalm
Thanks, and thanks for the feedback. I've currently got gravel on a 50-items-long list of changes to be made, so it will be changed - eventually. As for clay, I changed it to a reddish/pinkish hue in v8. Did that not help?
The cactus in v8 has a wierd brown line on the side of the top texture but i looked at the terrain.png but there isn't. I took a screenshot
Interesting. Found the problem - apparently I had drawn into the cactus area when painting the snow-dirt block next to it. It happens. :ohmy.gif: Thanks for the notification.
Please include an optional adfly link. I want to support the texture pack makers who really care about their work, whose art shows both talent and hard work.
I suppose I should add an adfly link... seeing as how I have no munny. But if you really want to support my work, spread the word about my YouTube channel - [email protected] As important as this texpack is, my YouTube channel is my main project. If I can turn that into a career, I will be very satisfied. Currently, I've obtained a partnership, but I don't have enough viewers to make a living off of it. Just need to tell people about me. That's the hardest part about growing a YouTube channel - letting people know about you.

I'm glad I didn't ruin your builds. It's hard to take everything like that into consideration when I'm making new textures or editing old ones. In the end, I just have to do what I've gotta do to make the pack better, and hope everyone keeps using it after I alter it drastically. The reason that I changed the brick is because I'm changing the pack to be more in line with default in terms of colors and shapes, sort of the way 'Faithful' has done, but without such a strict adherence to the feel of the default textures. I'm doing this because I had some people say that they use default when they build because they want to know what their builds will look like to everyone else. Well, if mine is not so different(from a distance), then that's one less reason to not use it.

As of now, I'm not really trying to make the pack mod-compatible. There are just to many. Maybe I will do that when it's pretty much done, but for now I'm focusing on making the main textures as good as they can be.

I actually designed my build to work with the old grey brick, which looked pretty good, but as I said, still looks good with the red brick :smile.gif: (I did occasionally check using the default before your changes)
Ultimately this is your textures, so if you need to make a change, do it, no reason holding back because someone else thinks it'll make their work look bad. Once your customizer is up, people can pick and choose anyway.
Also, Biome-Water requires no work on your part really. The biome shading image is included with the mod, and the Vanilla actually has an image for it already, so I think Notch will include it in the game before long. Because of this, your pack is nearly compatible (except for the saturation of the water) which should really be something you include in the customizer rather than the standard pack. Takes all of 20 seconds to open the two water files and desaturate :smile.gif:

I'll look into it soon. Focusing on mobs this week I think. :smile.gif:
You're more OCD with perfection than me! haha
You really cant make up your mind can you..
At least there will be plenty of variety for the customizer :smile.gif:
Im sorry to say i really don't like the new direction in v9. Its to bright and RPG like which isnt to my taste.
I also noticed the blue and cyan wool colors were the wrong way around.
I'd like to make a suggestion to make a website where u can pick the textures yourself from all the different packs you've made, so we can pick our favorites. I know thats a huge task but i thought id put it out there
I apologize for the drastic changes, but I no longer feel that 'realistic' is a good style for Minecraft. I realized that I'd forgotten the old feeling MC used to give me - it's supposed to feel fun and free and frivolous, and I don't think a strictly realistic texture pack adds to that feeling. So I think I'll be pushing some of the textures towards a bit more of a RPG feel, but not too much - It's not going to become all short/squished childish looking like Doku's. I want to keep everything very refined and neat, but also give it the necessary depth of shadow for the textures to be able to be appreciated at distances beyond a mere 10 blocks. RPG textures have very deep shadows, bold colors, and high contrast so that their contours can be easily perceived and understood. This is a smart design element for a game where quick identification of textured blocks is important. I don't want people to have to stare at similar blocks for a few seconds or mouse over them to identify them. They should all be easily recognizable. As an example I had a user mention that he had trouble differentiating between stone, gravel, and clay. Granted, he's a bit colorblind, but still. TL;DR - Sorry, but I gots ta do what I gots ta do.
That said, I imagine it's the stone that you have the most problem with. Is that right? It is quite RPGish. I plan on trying to make it look a bit more realistic and less contrasted, as I feel the current version is just a bit too noisy, at least on my monitor.
Hey Tobiwankenobi, I know you arnt even done with this texture pack yet, but have you thought about ever doing a 64X pack down the road? Love your work.
Hai Tobi, I wuv your youtube, and I found out about this pack.
Have you ever thought of yogbox support? I think that'd be very nice.
Of course, after you finish your work.
The point I'm trying to make, is that I love your pack, and I also love the Yogbox. And textures are so rubbish when you use a TP without support, they stand out like hell.
Thanks for reading,
Shorty.
I've actually never heard of Yogbox, but I'll look into it. I presume it's a mod pack? Dunno, I look it up.
Jus't one question, I know that you're working on mobs and all that, It's just a question and not a demand or anything like that. Will you do the stone plain in the future? My opinion, Is that the V9 update, has a stone that looks "coblish".
BTW, wuuve wu
Stone will be made more smooth, yes. Current one is a WIP.
Incredible work! Those mobs are so freaky and so detailed.
I suggest making the water a bit more realistic. And the zombies are great, but you should make them a bit dirty to give off a even creepier and slightly more realistic effect.
Your delivering good work like always!
I don't know if it updated yet, I'm downloading right now.
But, The cobblestone and mossy cobblestone didn't look the same.
I REPEAT: I'm downloading :smile.gif:
Great job Tobi! :biggrin.gif:
Mossy cobble is fixed in the version I'm currently working on(v10), but it's still non-matching in v9. Sorry, there were other things that seemed more important to me.
Great pack, as always, will you make more skinning videos of the mobs? And continue the lets play some more? heh :smile.gif:
I was planning on doing the skelly this week, but since 1.8 is hitting on Sept 8, I may not have time. I'll try though. As for the let's play, I am discontinuing that one because I want to do a 1.8 let's play.
May I use some textures of your pack for my new HD pack?
I really like the Creeper :smile.gif:
-Renzio
Ps.: I'll link to your pack in the readme.txt-file of my Pack!
I'm afraid I'd like to keep my mobs exclusive to my pack. If other people have them, things might get confusing. I highly recommend you do yours in your own style.
Yeah this makes water look much more realistic. What about flowing water? I don't see any of that. My gpu cant handle this mod anyway. It drops me down to a very unstable 30-50 fps.

I've been planning on getting some shots, but I'm so busy trying to update it for 1.8 that I don't feel like I have the time to get good ones.
