The current ones I believe are only 4x4 in appearance, but really 16x16.
Though it is possible.
I saw one where the terrain.png was indeed 4x4 for each texture. And it worked (pretty sure you had to use the patcher, though). And it wasn't too bad, either.
TC should use the search function, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

If there are, it'd be excellent if someone could link me to one, as my laptop lags with default textures.
8x will do, it barely lags on default (2 year old laptop :sad.gif:).
