The Gradient Pack is a very simple texture pack that I created, that seems to give everything a gradient look. Here's some pictures I took of it in random multiplayer servers:
Your basic Utillity: A home with grass: Me and Monork2 exploring a cave: The three types of trees, with some long grass: Coal in the mountain and a cave to the side: Rock-like inventory: The mob spawner: FOUND DIAMOND: The Nether portal: Inside the Nether: Being attacked by a Ghast: Lightstone and zombie pigs:
If you didn't see in the pictures, some of the images are not changed from the original, and the reason for this is because the pack is still under development, and drawn using the pencil and eyedropper tool alone, so as you can imagine it takes a while to fill in every square. However, it's looking great right now, so I decided to start talking about it in the forum. Feel free to leave ideas, what you like, or dislike about it, etc. I try to make it enjoyable for everyone. Thanks for reading.
there are quite some thins i like. but the smoothstone and the ores look very ugly. you sould make the smoothstone more a solid piece not a loose block
The Ores are ment to be like that so that you can find them at far distances. It really comes in handy. And I'm not sure where your getting at with the smooth stone's 'loosness'
It's kinda hard to make a good stone texture because you want it to be flat, but not all one color at the same time...
That's because gradients have a fundamental flaw unless used with great skill. Gradients are used most often by people who don't understand shading properly, as a shortcut, but to actually use them effectively takes a lot of skill, and I mean a LOT of skill.
I appreciate the simplicity of this pack, if I could recommend 1 thing, if you would darken the vignette of the stone a little bit It would look great, but keep the outline. Other then that, looks great, keep it up! :smile.gif:

What do you mean? I used the pencil tool in PAINT.NET to make/edit everything. D:

heheh, I guess people just like the high-quallity stuff these days, huh?
So what you're saying is, the 1 pixel dark grey line around the pure stone is annoying?
Well I never boredered the sand or cobble stone or anything. I think taking off the stone border is acceptable for a change.
Ok, so, I desided to try your idea of crossing out the lines from the normal stone:
It didn't look that good to me, so I changed it back:
If you're absolutly sure you don't like the line, I need to come up with a brand new texture.
