O,k so. I made a texture pack that I would like to try out. The only thing I have right now is the terrain.png file, however the rest of the stuff, environment, particles, GUI, etc... Is in there too, just not changed at all when I try to select it, the name of the file comes up but when I play it is the default and the logo next to the texture pack in the selection menu is the defualt logo except black and white... Here's what the zip file looks like when it's in folder form. I suspect the problem is how the files are arranged? Thanks!
Update: Thanks everybody! Problem solved!

I had this issue too, instead of right clicking the folder and sending to zip, select all the things inside, and right click and send to zip.

Also I see you are not on windows, but it's basically the same process.

The title file is the logos when you sign it, like Mojang and stuff. And it is a 16x16 texture... Shouldn't that work?

Good to see someone else with a mac. First, highlight all of those files. Then, right click and hit compress. This should give you a file called archive.zip, you can rename it if you want. Finally, if its a 32 or higher just patch your game and put it in the texture pack folder. If its a 16 just move to texture pack folder. If you don't know how to get to the texture pack folder, go to finder, click your user name,then library, the application data, and finally minecraft. The texture folder should be in plain view.

Hope this helps, I know because i had trouble with it the first time as well.

Hehe, no problem, I use pc because I didn't want to pay for a mac install disk.
