Hello, I want to play in the 512x texture pack but it doesnt work....
I tried to follow the steps in the FAQ area, do the ".bat" file, but when I start Minecraft with the ".bat" file my computer collapses.
I have 3.00 gb RAM and I wanted to ask : If ill buy thing that will add 2.00 GB RAM, will it work?
I did the mcpatcher and modloader things, i played at the 256x texture pack and it all worked well.....

Modloader? That's not needed for 512x pack :3
You don't seem to have enough ram, well it's probably not fast enough anyway. Be careful upgrading, make sure it'll work with your computer ;D
512x is pretty useless, just use 256 its the best :3

But if, as I was saying, I'll upgrade my ram from 3 GB to 5GB, will it work?
minecraft runs very unstable when it comes to high res textures. everything above 32x will eventually cause problems with the engine. The higher the res, the higher the chances. So try to use a lower res, because no one can garuantee that the high res textures work ... even with 5gigs of ram
So you think I shouldn't buy the 5GB RAM and compromise on the 256x texture pack?
if you would buy the 5gb ram only for the texture pack than i would say no! and remember that you can only use more then 3gb with a 64bit version of windows! (i don't know how it is held with the other os) so, if you don't have win 64bit you shouldn't buy more ram anyways. Sphax recommended his 128x version and it runs very stable on my laptop. You defenitly can try the 256x version, but if that one doesn't work either, try a lower one first. If all of that doesn't work at all or you have to use a very low res tex, than you can still think of upgrading your pc ... (hope you can understand my english ^^)
I played the 256x texture first and it runs pretty smoothly but I think to buy those 2GB RAM edition so I'll have 5GB it will help me to play other games. I'll buy it and post the results...
I am loving this texture pack, but the pumpkin, brick, jack-o-lantern, gold block, brick slab, netherack, brick stairs, diamond chest plate, and diamond leggings have fire textures or lava textures or water textures, or a compass or a clock on them.

I just have to say this has to be the most stupendously awesome TP I have come across. It's that amazing I cannot play the game without it (I'm refraining from updating to 1.9 untill all aspects of the TP is skinned :smile.gif:).
My PC specs are i7-870, 8GIG Ram and a HD5850 and I can use the the 512 TP and get an FPS of around 60. I use the 256 however as I get FPS's of 120+.
When testing the 512 TP I did have to use mcpatcher to run it. Minecraft would instantly crash with the out of memory message if I didn't.
I cannot even do a benchmark test between my GPU and yours on anandtech.com. Is it a popular card?
I have no idea on the popularity of the card, I just bought it not too long ago, few months? The only thing I can think of that would lag behind is my processor. I can run Crysis 1, 2, Fallout 3 and NV with all sorts of crazy mods that enhance the graphics and such. I've no problem running the latest games at an FPS of 40 - 60+ but then this thing topples me.
Could a mod be causing issues by chance? Because even the 256x lags and I used to be able to run 256x no problem. I'll look into it more :smile.gif:
EDIT** Oops, meant 5750. x.X I have no idea why I wrote 6750 x.X
Hey I'm not sure if this is the texture pack or what. On 256x I notice that some of the larger paintings just appear black. I never had this problem on 128x. Anyone else have this problem on the 256 version?

It might be the new lighting. Since 1.8 came out with the new lighting engine, I find some paintings I put up (or even corners or areas in general) appear pitch black when they clearly shouldn't. If they aren't black, they're very dark... it's quite annoying, but I don't think it's the texture pack.
makes me wish i had a gaming PC to download 128x version, sticking with the 16x! thanks for adding support for aether mod, that mod is just part of the official game for me and should be for mojang too! thanks for the texture pack dude! you are the mayor of epicsville

It's the lighting engine. Any painting with a block above it will appear very dark.
this is amazing the 512x pack looks crazy awesome, if only my computer way nice enough to handel it. could you please post some plain old 16x pack pics?

Yeah I figured it must be something else. At least I know I'm not the only one that's having this problem. I think it must be the lighting engine as that makes much more sense than it being the texture pack.
