I've never said this before but I think.......this is the best texture pack I've ever seen for this game.
And I'm not just saying that cause you used a couple pieces of my fanart as paintings.
This is like.....holy crap. Everything is so seemlessly perfect and colorful and cute. Nothing looks out of place. It's like a sort of vector style but very smooth.
Fantastic color theory, design, the way you made shading like little angular chunks of darker hues. It's magical. It truly is. And plus it's not trying achieve photorealism. It fully embraces the angular nature of a cube-based game with it's own sharp angular designs and really just makes it all flow so damn well.
It's like textures taken from some unknown never-before-seen RPG or platformer game that have been placed in minecraft. Except these are all custom-made for this game. It's a real treasure. It reminds me a bit of the way they often do textures in the 'new' mario games these days except unlike those you have chosen a very rich color palette, whereas the aforementioned usually uses very simple bland colors.
I also like how these new textures pay homage to the originals by not being TOO different from the originals. You didn't make wood look like mulch or make creepers look like vampires or anything way out of line that wrecks the look of the game.
A definite bar has been set with this for all other non-realistic HD texture packs. And even realistic ones too, since many of those choose colors that, while realistic, stick out like sore thumbs when one ventures across the terrain.
I also liked the subtle nod to Half-Life you put in the pack.
In short this thing is pretty much perfect.
If theres ever some website that gives out awards for stunning texture packs, you're pretty much a shoe-in.
Yes, theres still people who use the term "shoe-in"

Can anyone else get the 512x512 one working? All that happens for me is that it gets to the menu screen, but there are no buttons...

I really enjoy seeing things or people grow. And I recently discovered my own Dragon. It will cease to live in its egg if it does not feed on views. Please help it, and me? Just click on the little scaly egg there :3

Thanks a lot for those nice... great... I mean awesome words! Be sure that I always appreciate them a lot. So thank you, it's always so pleasant to read this, that motivates me so much! :smile.gif:
Sphax, while this pack is certainly amazing and by far my favorite, would you consider doing alternate version? Such as a darker version with a gloomy/moody theme? While most comic book styles are high color, highly stylized, there are plenty of very good looking darker styles as well. I think this pack would look very nice that way, even if the original vectors stayed the same with just a change of color.

While it's everyone's dream for fantastic artists like Sphax to create a texture pack
for every single theme/idea on our minds, it's just not realistic. Sure, your comment
is all true, in that there is comics of various styles/themes, but to transfer the originality
transcribed in comic books, into a vector formatted, texture pack, it's an unrealistic request.
Is it possible, yes, but realistic, no.
It takes hundreds of hours to create a texture pack of this quality. Especially
considering the fact that this is a vector pack. What you are asking is similar
to asking artist's of non-vector pack's to simply downscale or upscale their pack
to respective resolutions. This results in blurring and our smudging if not
completely done from scratch.
Sorry to be a downer, but to save Sphax, the time, it probably won't happen.

Nice idea, though! :smile.gif:
It's not at all unfeasible. Being a graphic designer myself, I've dealt quite a bit with vectors in photoshop and illustrator and know what it takes to create something original and to modify existing work. Simply recoloring vectors doesn't require any scaling of the image, even if it did it wouldn't result in quality loss as vectors are resolution independent (until converted to png). But that wasn't what I was asking for. Of course, if Sphax shared the vector files, I would gladly do it myself.
I know someone posted a round version of your watch day/night indicator, and I installed it, but the edges still poke out a little. =/ Hoping someone can find that perfect size to make it fit in the watch properly. XD
man that is one impressive changelog. cant wait for 1.8 so i can bask in all its glory! pluss the mc 1.8v will be nice too :smile.gif:
also must add tho i dont use randomobs(yet) i am so impressed with your variations that i am going to install it tomorrow. can't have all that awesome art go unused!!! and again i love your dedicated mod support aswell the claysoldier dudes look cool, ctm and aether are great, and more paintings. all those extra awesome pictures. i never liked default paintings so i never use them but since i started useing this pack around 0.4.0 (thats what my favourites link says!) i now have pictures everywhere! cant wait to see your zipline textures too. thanx sphax
This is so perfectly well done HD cartoon pack I've ever seen before.
I created an account for cheer to your work even if I can't speak english well!(sorry about that.)
There are no messing up orignal minecraft concept and color like other excessive texture pack.
It's incredible thing. I wonder how hard to work for achieve this.
So smooth.. So blend in..
But..
I found this accidentally from linked other mod.
It's weird. Maybe You need to figure out how to newbies can find more easily.
I strongly agree if notch bring your texture pack to vanilla.
I hope convey to you what I want to say. Other thing is I need to learn more english.
Any chance we could get a vector source zip at some point? Possibly with 1.8? That would keep everyone from requesting you do this or that with the texture pack and they could then use it to further support for mods/addons.
