It depends what version of MC you're using.
MC1.8 has a bug that stops 512x from working.
MC1.9 and 1.10 should work with 4GB as long as you're actually setting it in your launcher correctly.
i would like to see a Semi-realism resource pack for Biome O plenty, Bibliocraft, and Tinkers Construct 2 along with GrungeBDcraft (be completed) for 1.10.2
i just want to share my suggestion even i know it will never happened in future.. there is no resource pack mod support as far as i can find on website. i guess its dead.. no one is interested in making these resource pack. only default minecraft's texture pack. :'(
This may be a stupid question to ask but how do I know which version I actually do need? I got a very good PC but I try not to max out everything so the performance doesn't dip if a lot of things start happening.
I need help, and not sure how to fix. I'm using Sphax and I just got a basic extra tic texture pack add on. I also got the additional thermal expansion add on to extra tic, so I can get the enderium textures.
Not only can I not seem to get the thermal expansion add on to work, I can't seem to even get extra tic to work. I assumed it should be as simple as adding the extra tic folder in with the other Sphax folders. Yet, when I do that, Minecraft no longer recognizes the texture pack. So obviously something's wrong there, and I'm not sure what to do to get it to work.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I've also tried going into the tinkers file and manually adding the enderium texture, but that doesn't seem to work either.
Yeah, but I want it part of the Sphax texture pack. The way you're suggesting, you'd only have the extra tic as the texture pack. I want to integrate it into my texture pack, so I get all of Sphax, not just that part.
I'm not sure why this is happening but sometimes, some mobs seem to be invisible for me (happened with a player once too) with this pack on, seems fine in the default pack though, anyone else getting that issue? I'm on 1.10.2 using x128 btw.

I'm using 1.10 with the latest options and the 3D blocks and items add-on.
If you redownload the 3D Blocks addon this should be fixed.

128x is the recommended resolution, but then again it just depends what your PC can handle when you actually play.
No one can tell you what's best, it's up to you to try it out.

The additionals for ExtraTiC can just be placed in the resourcepacks folder and enabled in the Resourcepacks screen like any other resourcepack.

Well that depends on what version of MC you're using. Since 1.7 you can select multiple packs at once.
