Have to agree with you with the wool. The puffy-cloud look to the 1.1 wool feels more cartoony than 1.2's diagonal stripes.
With sandstone I'm more of a purist. I liked that (with the default MC textures) sand and the top of the sandstone matched so that exposed sandstone in desert biomes didn't stand out as much.
With the new 1.2 sandstone, the sides match closer to the sand texture—in a sense that they don't have a border and are the same color. What I'd like to see is that texture swapped with the top so that sandstone from above looks like it matches the sand texture, but from the side or below looks more like a carved block.
The sides (in my opinion) look best as 2 half slabs just because the half slabs use the same texture; full 1x1 sandstone would look cutoff as half-slabs.
Just build a desert base with plenty of sandstone slabs, so I feel like throwing my opinion in too—even if I already lost the new-Stone-Brick discourse.
Again, props to Sphax on an amazing texture pack. I truly wouldn't play Minecraft without it anymore.

i am using mc patcher. but when i instal ur tp then it works just fine, when i am going in a world,it shos me to update the tp (redstone lamp, and the new stonebrick) could you or someone else could help me out pls?
Will this texture pack ever have mcpatcher custom color support? Misa's texture pack makes it look great, but copying over their files does not match with the colors.
Wow. Just wow. I've been using doku variants for a long time, but I just tried out this pack, and I'll never go back! Even has support for my favourite mods! Now if only my computer could handle more than 32x...
