Great texture pack. I usually use LB Photo realism, but after downloading this pack, I realized it wasn't the realism I liked about LB, it was actually just the high 256x resolution. This pack is even better than LB because it makes the game look beautiful while keeping the comical feel of Minecraft intact. A must-download.
1st pic is the wool (white on the left and black on the right) in the 1.1 (the better) version, with the cloud-like lines.
2nd pic is in the 1.1 version, sandstone on the left and endstone on the right. They hardly reassemble each other. I guess i didn't see how bad sandstone looked in 1.1. My mistake. The 1.2 version isn't very good either.
3rd pic is in the 1.2 version (same layout as 1.1) with no cloud-like lines, just unvector, uncomic (if those two are words) straight lines.
4th pic is in the 1.2 version (same layout as 1.1). The sandstone closely reassembles endstone (too much). It's good that Sphax made it not look like double slabs, but make it look original.
I think that Sphax should scrap the sandstone texture and put the 1.1 wool back. If anyone could argue against my post, feel free to do so.
PS: I know that it takes a LONG time and effort to make textures, which is why i ALWAYS use this pack.
Have to agree with you with the wool. The puffy-cloud look to the 1.1 wool feels more cartoony than 1.2's diagonal stripes.
With sandstone I'm more of a purist. I liked that (with the default MC textures) sand and the top of the sandstone matched so that exposed sandstone in desert biomes didn't stand out as much.
With the new 1.2 sandstone, the sides match closer to the sand texture—in a sense that they don't have a border and are the same color. What I'd like to see is that texture swapped with the top so that sandstone from above looks like it matches the sand texture, but from the side or below looks more like a carved block.
The sides (in my opinion) look best as 2 half slabs just because the half slabs use the same texture; full 1x1 sandstone would look cutoff as half-slabs.
Just build a desert base with plenty of sandstone slabs, so I feel like throwing my opinion in too—even if I already lost the new-Stone-Brick discourse.
Again, props to Sphax on an amazing texture pack. I truly wouldn't play Minecraft without it anymore.
damn that video for this texture is gone, i liked it had it faved on youtube.
i don't care if it was out of date, i liked the video. the audio and video went perfectly.
and i came to like the song and the texture pack as well, regardless i still use this texture. right now i'm hopping between this and soartex fanver. but why did that video have to be taken down, alot of videos i enjoy seem to up and vanish for no reason i am aware of.

Thanks for the feedback (on my post), I agree with you totally on the sandstone but I couldn't quite get the words out
The 512 download seems to have been broken. Minecraft can't switch to the texture at all if you just place the .zip in the texture pack folder. And when opening it in 7zip you get invalid compression errors all over.

i saw this and decided to check it out, file is fine on my machine. opened it in winrar. my minecraft has a hard time running these high def textures, it chokes on 256, i use 128 personally. it doesn't give me a holy hell fps suicide and looks good enough for me.
but i have to say i have a question for the artist, is this vector art? because after using photoshop and being on devaint art, photoshop and illustrator create an image in two different ways, illustrator uses a math based system, where as photoshop uses images.
course i still have photoshop 7 so the whole shooting match is probably all in cs5 now, i tried out the demo once, man it is complex and i thought 7 was complex, but it has imageready built in.
so is this vector based art, or photoshop's version that got the name vexil vector\pixel merge. another artist on da made it not me.
and i really can't tell the difference by sight alone, but as an artist my curiosity wants to know. i still like it regardless.
Confirming the 512 Texture pack is messed up. I used the 512 fine in the last version, And have 8gig of ram with minecraft. The ZIP file seems corrupt, opening it with WinRAR shows several errors.
I decided to manually extract them all from WinRAR, And rezip them filling in files that are missing from the 256x version.
Art/kz.png, The Environment folder, the Font folder, Everything in GUI except trap.png, and Mob/villager.png all needed to be replaced because they didn't extract or were never there.
After manually repacking those into the 512 pack, I rezipped it and it works completely fine, Aside from the few downgraded textures you never really notice.

Curse PremiumTheir is a fairly large chance your computer can't handle high-res
try a lower resolution, or if you didnt already, use mcpatcher
