Sphax, though I'm sure you went to a lot of trouble trying to satisfy the cobblestone-looks-too-much-like-stone-brick crowd, I hope you go back to the texture the next time you update. I liked the more subtle differences between stone brick and cobblestone. The revised texture has far too much contrast against everything else with the darker grout lines and bolder brick colors.
For 1.1 and earlier:
While I appreciate that it's now much easier to tell them apart stone brick from mossy stone brick and cracked stone brick in my inventory (besides all having the name "Stone Bricks", which is definitely part of the problem) I think it makes the differences in blocks stand out far too much now when viewed in the world itself. Just for example, the thinner row of bricks stands out far more with the greater contrast, so gives a more obvious "ring" around anything that has stone brick blocks at the same height around a structure. Plus, since a lot of the utility blocks like furnaces, dispensers, and pistons use the original stone brick texture and would probably look much different (and possibly worse) with the newer texture.
For 1.2:
I liked the original style of stone bricks and I hope we go back to them, but I understand that other users have far different needs and wants when it comes to texture packs—just thought I'd share my thoughts.
There's a problem when I add this texture pack to my minecraft, I've used Mcpatcher and this happened when I downloaded the latest version, I also need fog because my computer's not the best and I have to play on short.

I agree with this guy 100%, I loved the stone brick and felt it fit so well with the texture pack, the new stone brick is too dark and the contrast just doesnt feel like it fits well with the rest of the pack.

So I'm working on Sphax-esque textures for SDK's guns mod, now that it's finally updated. Here's the 256px light bullets I just finished, any thoughts on how it could be improved? Any interest in me continuing this project? And does anybody know how Sphax makes the textures? I'm just using Seashore and drawing them pixel by pixel at the moment.
The texture is based on an image of actual AK47 ammo. I'm not much of a gun person, but I figured anybody who is would like to have somewhat realistic textures. I tried to match it to SDK's 16px texture as well as I could by just multiplying the height of the bullets by 16 to scale up.
I'm glad to see that you've started to work on the color mod :smile.gif:
Yes but the result is not as good as I would like. I don't understand what this Mod really adds infact (except the fog color, which is a nice addition).

Use the customizer or copy+paste them in with any image editing software.
Sweet, also, I love the new stone brick textures. Can't wait to see what your ocelot and cat textures will look like....amazing I'm sure.

right click shortcut for minecraft, find "change icon", select the file you downloaded, all good.
