oh cheers sphax :smile.gif:
you use illustrator to create this dont you?
or do you use photoshop?
he uses photoshop. in illustrator you couldn't export proper pngs as fast as in photoshop. and photoshop supports vector gfx. not at the same level like illustrator but it does.

Hey. I much appreciate that this texture pack has been kept up. Truth be told, I've yet to use it. But I've idly entertained the idea for quite some time, and I feel like I'm really interested in using it once the release hits later today.
Of course, then there's the wait for the mods to be adjusted for it. That's perfectly fine, I'm willing to wait. I'm just wondering, though... as someone who has never downloaded a texture pack above 16x, what things do I need to download and install before I can get the full effect of this texture pack? So far, it seems that I need to install "HD Patcher" and "Randomobs" first. Anything else?
I'm thinking also of trying the highest resolution. Hopefully my computer can handle it. I'll probably have to allot more memory to Java, right?

1. All you need is MCPatcher. It includes Randomobs if you choose to use it. You can use OptiFine *instead* of MCPatcher in order to use HD texture packs. If you want Randomobs you will have to install that separately.
2. Yes. Lots more memory. In my experience it's just not worth it (game stutters on a Radeon 6850 with 512x packs). However, if you still want to try it, read the FAQ in the original post. Specifically #19. I recommend just using the standard 128x myself.

Thanks for the information and advice. I'm gonna give the 512x a try, yeah, but I'll go in hopeful but cautious. I'll probably also try 256x too, before settling on 128x. I suppose if I want to go the Optifine route, I'm going to need to wait for that to update to Release 1.0 too.
Man, that's weird to say. Release 1.0...

i use the 512x pack- i have core i7 920, 6gb dominator ram and radeon6970. i get solid 60-100 fps no stutters. i allocate 4gb to java with .bat file. so yes it might not be worth it but if you have the hardware then you want the best, and thats 512x.

I'm no computer expert, so allow for my ignorance when I inform you of my specs. I have an Intel Core i7 930, 2.80Ghz dual-core. 6 GB of RAM. AMD Radeon HD 6800 graphics card. Does this seem like it'll stand up to the same beating your computer can handle? Provided I can remember how to adjust Java's memory.
