From the pictures, I think the grate around the torch makes to too bulky. As I like to use lots of torches to keep my constructions shining bright, it'd be preferable to have a torch texture with a more...uh. sleek design.
This looks absolutely amazing!
I love the almost Flash-drawn style, and the cartoony feel it has without being bogged down by having ugly outlines everywhere.
Also, let me say that the chest looks beyond great! I've been looking for a cartoony chest other than the Borderlands one for months, and just by that screenshot i can tell that this is the one I'll be using whenever it gets released!
I'm definitely going to watch this thread, eagerly anticipating your pack's release!
I created an account just to post how excited I am to use this texture pack. From the screenshots, it keeps the block/cartoon style of Minecraft, but makes it much smoother and changes patterns(for the better!)! It looks absolutely amazing. I'll be constantly refreshing this page for the download! :biggrin.gif:
I completely agree with this, and created my account for the same reason.
Awesome, gorgeous work. I can't wait for the finished product.
One suggestion: I'd examine the sandstone texture a little more. It looks too plain and meh compared to the rest. Try doing some version of your cobblestone on it, or something along those lines. I found nothing else to critique, it looks great. The paintings alone merit bonus points.
I've tried out your texture pack, and so far, it looks fantastic. I especially like how I can happily use gravel as a decorative material - it's great! My favourite parts are the chests, furnaces, flowers and mushrooms. You've captured the comic-style look phenomenally in all of these things.
Thanks. I wanted to give some interest to this gravel which is generally unused (personnaly I use it for my roads). :wink.gif:
If there is any criticism I could give at this point, it's that the stone looks fairly uninteresting compared to the rest of the textures. That is to say, it could be a lot better! But that's about it for now

I'll see what can do about the stone and the sand-stone textures... :smile.gif:
It was pretty cool coming back from school to see your first version up. It really looks superb. I would comment on all the things I love, but it would take too long, So I guess if there were two things I must commend you on it would be the cobble and bookshelves. As for the planks, they are superb as flooring, but for those who use them as the outside of their house, it looks a little out of place. Anyway here are my thoughts on what can be improved
-------------------------------------------------- Flaws -- Not really flaws, but possible improvements :smile.gif:
I. Stone Texture: I think the stone should not necessarily clear, but the speckled look, don't love.
II. Iron Ore: Overall, the physical ore shapes look great, simple and creative, but the iron ore seems a bit to greenish, kind of lime in color. A more beige or brown
color or alternatively a silver"y" color would suit iron better.
III. Mossy Cobble: While it is not the most common material to find, it is still recognizable, and personally I think surrounding each cobbly brick type thing (I think you know what I mean) there should be moss or ferns coming out of it, rather than the moss being scattered randomly
throughout the block.
IV. Sand and Sandstone: First of all I would prefer a darker shade for each of these textures, and secondly I think that the sandstone should do away with the blur. For stone it seems fitting and reasonable, but I just don't see the need for such glare on sandstone.
V. Grass: I feel it's extremely important to get the grass right, and honestly i'm not sure if it's perfect. I don't love the such perfect side grass (not dirt portion of grass) and I'm not overly fond of the diamond pattern, but none the less it is a quite fitting texture to the pack.
-------------------------------------------------- Final Conclusion: 9 out of 10 | 9/10
Your pack is impressive and one of the best looking packs i've seen period. I've probably looked at 150 different textures, searching for that best one and yours is competing for that title. It is unique, creative, and keeps that minecrafty, fun and comical feel that all textures should.
I'm eagerly awaiting the items, and gui textures, not to mention to see your mob textures (they'll probably be hilariously entertaining). Your work is superb and as said earlier, I think that your cobblestone, bookshelves, and crafting supplies are what claim your pack's soon to be fame.
II. Iron Ore: Overall, the physical ore shapes look great, simple and creative, but the iron ore seems a bit to greenish, kind of lime in color. A more beige or brown
color or alternatively a silver"y" color would suit iron better.
I chose this greenish color because the iron ore in reality is greenish. :smile.gif:
However, it's a comicbook style so I can probably use any color I want. I'll create an alternative in light brown or beige.
III. Mossy Cobble: While it is not the most common material to find, it is still recognizable, and personally I think surrounding each cobbly brick type thing (I think you know what I mean) there should be moss or ferns coming out of it, rather than the moss being scattered randomly

Hum. I didn't want the sandstone to looks like the cobblestone because you can find the sandstone in the nature under the sand... Currently I like a lot this sandstone as a compressed sand like a slab... but I'll see what I can do about this.
V. Grass: I feel it's extremely important to get the grass right, and honestly i'm not sure if it's perfect. I don't love the such perfect side grass (not dirt portion of grass) and I'm not overly fond of the diamond pattern, but none the less it is a quite fitting texture to the pack.
I've already planned to create an alternative for it. :wink.gif:

Great work and Sorry for the Long Review!
Thanks for your review. I'll try to use all the feedbacks to update my texture pack. :wink.gif:
I love this pack so far. My current worlds have been designed with doku's pack so they will stay that way but this pack is getting it's own world that will be looney toons inspired. Cant wait to see more from you.
I've been using the Minecraft 4 Kids texture pack for the longest time... and haven't found a texture pack I like more than it, until now. I love this texture pack except for a few things. The wild grass and grass/dirt textures are about the only things that I wish there was an alternative for. I love the sandstone and cobblestone, as well as the overall look to the entire texture pack. Somehow, the very stylized and cartoony look works really well with Minecraft.
Great pack, you should get a picture of it with the texture pack test track by copperdomebodha. I can't wait for the 256 and 64 sizes, and improvements on the textures.

I'll do that.
About the 64x and 256x, I'll release them as soon as I get the items finished.
I'm currently working hard on them and I've done so far the compass, bow, arrow, swords, pickaxes and shovels. :tongue.gif:
Yay! There is a release!
Pity that my screen has a resolution of 1024x768. Everything looks quite ugly.
edit: Oh, and the iron ore, is that uranium or something?
Why do you say everything looks ugly ? O_o
I'm testing my pack with a resolution of 1600x900 and it looks good...
About the iron ore, I wanted its color to be more like the natural iron ore (which is greenish). But I understand that it's not a good idea so I'll change it to a basic beigeORsilver color. :tongue.gif:
Well, with another 128p texture pack, everything looks ugly, but with this one it seems to be fine, fortunately.
I didn't know iron ore was greenish, but I like it!
The iron ore could also be redish or blackish - but not beige/brown/silver. :tongue.gif:
I'll quickly do an alternative color for it (beige or silver - don't know right now).
My criticism is that I don't like the grass very much, it just seems like diagonal lines on the floor to me.
Most of the critics are about the grass and the iron ore and some about the dirt and stone. So I've already planned to make an alternative for them (maybe by replacing them). :wink.gif:
Creative freebuild Minecraft Server, 24/7! Anti-grief.

Thanks a lot. :smile.gif:
You'll need just some hours now before I release the very first version of it. :tongue.gif:
About the torches, I'll create an alternative one (a smaller one).

Also, I've updated the main post to add some information (support picture, starting changelog, donation, licence, ...).
Let me know what you think, what you like and what you dislike. :wink.gif:

I'll probably create an alternative. But originally it was drawn to let it be as simple as possible.
I chose this greenish color because the iron ore in reality is greenish. :smile.gif:
