Please don't call it a 256 bit pack. If it were really 256 bit, you'd have no trouble running it at all. 256 bits is only 32 bytes. It's the resolution, not the bittage. It's 256x256 pixels per texture, not 256 bits.
Also, they require a lot of power to run effectively.
256x256 textures on Minecraft are very slow to render, especially when animations are enabled. If you want to have a high definion, prefer making 128x128 textures. Guys that demand 256x textures have alienware computers.
alienware is usually overpriced...so im guessing 8gb ram, a radeon 6870, and an intel 2500k can handle it? those are around the specs of a 1500-2000$ alienware pc

I can speak from experience that 32x32 is pretty demanding itself. So I can't imagine 256x256.
However, if you are sketching or free-drawing the textures is probably isn't that bad.
