Hello everyone! I am history. I am sure a few of you have been playing LAST DAYS long enough to remember but for those of you who have not, I was the person to first start the pack up after it was left behind by Doku. I worked on LAST DAYS for a good number of months(creating much of the terrain, all of the old mobs, gui, etc) but had to give the pack up do to my business with Zombiecraft and life on the whole. When I left I asked Croco to take over the pack in order to keep it alive. He, along with Halphprice, has done wonderful work in doing so and I am very grateful for the both of them.
Recently I contacted Croco and after a brief back and forth he offered me the pack back. Soon, this thread will be coming back into my possession. HalphPrice and Croco will still both be indispensable contributors to the pack, and Halph will be running the Minecraft Customizor Page.
Finally, I want to give a HUGE thanks to both Croco and Halph for keeping this pack going and for their wonderful work.
I will be posting a preview of update 1.0.0 very soon. This includes work from me,croco, and halphprice's unofficial update.
Well, I am happy everyone is exited for the future of the pack, I am in the process of merging works from Halph's unofficial update, croco's WIP update, and my own additions and tweaks. Croco already answered this question, but yes, HalphPrice will be in charge of the Customizer. Also here is another small bit of what I have been working on. The portal blocks are Croco's handy work. I made the tiles to replace stone brick.
Many years before converting the Hive Islands into a series of branching fallout shelters, Orbital Industries build remote labs in order to test principals of teleportation and any other questionable studies they desired to keep quiet. While able to meet there goal, the technology was all but abandoned due to its undesirable results.
History! You are back! Those textures sure look nice. This pack is the one of the two things that make me enjoy minecraft, the other being Better than Wolves. However will Croco and Halph-Price still be part of the creation of the pack?
I have also been working on some BTW textures. Most are retextures of things in the customizer, yet I made a few as well. I could post them if anyone is interested.
We will still be around, don't worry! And go ahead man, I would love to see what you made.
History's back? My heart just skipped 60 beats. No kidding. I've been using this pack since... hell, I even used History's survival horror mobs. You can even say History got me into texturing. It's been a while since I've posted here and this was definitely a pleasant surprise. If you guys need help, just ask.

tell me about it, and croco is back too is what i feel :wink.gif: now we got some great talent going at this again. i never textured for anyone before history too, trying to copy his style he's great.
It's been a while man, good to see you posting again. We can always use the help, more the better. We can fit it all int eh customizer, it's crazy what ideas come. I like how our customizer, as opposed to most. It's not just 5 shades of the same thing, it's all varied. Just find something you think you can do and go for it man. I'd love to see you work again.
goes for anyone, even if you half finish something i'll do up the rest for you.
i think, if doku will ever post anything on minecraftforum again, he will be spammed with finshing last days and dokucraft ...
i really love to see all the creators of this fantastic pack reunited! Last Days is the ONLY! pack out there that creates a whole new minecraft, without destroying the minecraft-feeling. And that is the true awesomeness of this pack.
I can't wait to see all the updates you guys make in the next time, and perhaps we get a last days continuation project running like dokucraft has. Last Days is the first pack, that motivates me, to texture myself, but sadly im not an artist and haven't done any texturing before. Does anyone has a good tut or tips on how to start? I don't need a "From noob to pro" guide but a few things to get me, and some other too perhaps, started.
oh and perhaps you could tell us, what program(s) you use ... gimp? paint.net? photoshop? or perhaps even tools like minecraft texturepack editor (MTE)?
enough from me ... back to you!
i use paint.net, and photoshop for doing seamless textures (there's tut on youtube for that)
after a bit you just start learning your own technique. I'm sure croco and history could give you some better tips then me. sometimes just looking at their textures in detail and understanding the concepts that they do and why it looks good or why you like it specifically helps to understand it more. I find that using 'noise' slightly so you just noticed it, then back a bit, helps give a 'analog' feel and less of a computer digital feel.
So Halph, I'm the guy who made the Last Days Night Vision which in my memory and hope you haven't taken away. I'd be glad if you'd accept help I could provide.
For example, I can suggest right now a change in tree design.
Lets try to make the three types of saplings into a more and more state of deterioration. Rust, missing pieces and stuff like that. The pine trees (Tundras and Taigas) could be at the worst state. Why? I'll tell you of a good theme for the winter areas.
Lets say after the HIVES and such, some junk that flew into the atmosphere fell down. Those areas are the junk zones I think could fit with the theme of the Last Days. The snow would be made of junk and random parts while the trees have more scrap and messes. The ice could have parts too.
So we can have a sort of new exploration theme to it. A player can roam the barren wastelands and stumble upon a place where random metal pieces and wires fall from the sky.
Also for the Mushroom Biomes it could be a chemical experiment of sorts. Maybe the mycelium could be darker and have some acid greed coloring on it and the pixel effects follow suit. The Mooshroms could be made of different colors meshing together and forming some sort of edible being (To justify them dropping shrooms that can be made into food.) The biome could be some sort of chemical experiment by people a long time ago.
I'll try to make textures, but don't trust me with those, I'm only confident in my idea making. Do you have Skype? If you'd like my help I will gladly join you in chat discussing about it.
If you don't know me you could ask History. I met him on one server and helped him with the night vision purely for making the pack better.
And judging from recent posts, History is back, and some hawt new Ender theme change going around.

I'll TRY to help. I want to contribute too!
And History and other contributors, got Skype?
i lov the idea, since the gabage texture for gravel is usless since it's paths in the villages, i was thinking of using that, since also the cotton sound is squeaky metalish, adn the snow sounds like that and the snow men leak it everywhere. that would make them better as little robots then mutants and expalin while piling garbage together works to make them. that's a ****ing great idea. it does change the style of the game to be more unique too.
i love it, and it is sort of needed to explain snowmen. frankly i can have it done later tonight, when i'm back. the mushroom theme is set as a gross chemical spill place too. but the shrooms are suppose to be giant scrap shacks people made before to survive above it. it was a good idea croco did up and the textures work well for it too.
i do think that giant mushrooms for it would make more sense tho, but it's hard where to go with it all. maybe have the current clean looking scrap shacks covered in a sort of mossy fungus stuff, like a corrupted creep covered thing like from aliens/zerg in starcraft.
I'll do up some snow textures too and see how it works out. i do love the idea of garbage wastelands tho, it would give it the most bleakest and barren looking pile of filth in all of minecraft.........
and garbage cubes like wall-e i want so bad. and garbage balls... i'm so on board with that idea. was so toying with it, but if no one else says it, it's sort of just me on with that.
it's that or just black snow.
so a more broken down pine is easy, i did some fo that up for the aether golden tree, if you check it out, adn broken foliage too, which works out great overall. got the textures for it already, just need to tweak the hue.
now we wait for the '**** storm' over the idea. then for everyone to accept it.
now we wait for the '**** storm' over the idea. then for everyone to accept it.
Doesn't the fact that we have a customizer nullify any possible **** storms we could have over ideas though? :wink.gif: In any case, I think the idea for snow is a perfect fit, seeing as snow HAS to share sounds with wool, but I was thinking that the sound for wool should be tweaked slightly, less of a squeaky sound and more like fine metal grains being sifted through. That way the snow would sound a lot closer to home, especially when walking over it, without ruining the sounds for wool.
Just so every one knows, I intend to get the new thread going this evening. I will post whatever I have as for 1.0.0. It will be late, as I am on my way out to work. But I will link from here. It will include work from halph, croco, and myself. It will also have halph's newest sound pack. to anyone waiting on message response from me. That will be coming tonight as well.
Well, I now feel this great urge to make more Last-Days themed textures, but I broke my computer. Hard drive is missing files for the OS, which I think I corrupted by shutting down my pc wrong. I'll see what I can do to borrow another computer, but hey, I'll be around for ideas if anyone needs them. I do a lot of creative writing too, so if help is needed with the lore, just ask.

Question History, do we need a website? To, you know, lower the amount of threads and such? I can only be good for a simple basic site (I can't pay money to get better features) but I think it'll be worth it. With a good community and supporters like this I think a website is nice. Also, we'd also need some organization. Posting beta updates? Naw, its better if we have a news section or something. Y'know?
i was thinking about how the crafting makes no sense. This is the closest i can think of for it to make sense:
stone swords=using a small plank of wood as a crowbar breaking open the slightly destroyed metal
iron sword=same as stone
diamond sword=carving uranum somehow and then placing it on a piece of wood(hows that for unsafe)
bow=attaching wires to a wooden gun thing
chicken meat=a mini furance from the robot floating toasters which happens to have a actual chicken inside it :tongue.gif:
and the rest is either obvious or i have no idea :tongue.gif:

with the customizer sort of, there still has to be a default. the snow sound i would change now too, i got a lot of crumple stuff that i had with this idea before, tin and paper, just gotta to mellow it in with some impact sound for it as well, might even use the snow crunch sounds. it's suppose to be making a robot out of scraps and garbage.

it's all salvaged out of the scrap and reassembled, with the help of techno tree wood. the tech tree wood was made to help in the event of a world destruction.
Is there any way you could have mod support? because mo' creatures would be cool scorpions radscorpions ogre super mutant ect. If you could have permission that would be cool.
