We really need Croco back...This thread is really starting to heat up and our main artist isn't even here. The image of a train wreck keeps coming to the forefront of my mind...

Referencing Price's post which just showed up as I was typing, I'd just like to say that I think that that raider is taking the term 'technophile' to a whole new level.

Information
So you may be wondering why I made this thread. Well, to make a long story short, History got too busy and put me in charge of Last Days. I made this thread so I could organize and update with less hassle. This is merely a continuation of History's work, which was a continuation of Doku's work. I only take credit for the textures I added and will be adding. And yes, I do have History's permission. He was the one who asked me to do this. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
LAST DAYS was a texture pack started by Doku (creator of the ever popular RPG pack). Doku began this pack with the essential land-scape defining textures (Dirt, Grass, Stone, water, trees, etc) but did not have time to do much more before discontinuing the pack. The concept he had, and the work he finished was to good to let die. Using Doku's visual and conceptual foundation History continued the pack, expanded it, and improved it. Now I have been chosen to keep LAST DAYS updated and to continue to improve it, just like History had before. The Original Thread by Doku The Second Thread by History
The goal of LAST DAYS is to take doku's brilliant foundational work and bring it to its logical conclusion; a full scale, game changing, texture and sound overhaul which takes full advantage of the existing mechanics of minecraft and brings them into a post apocalyptic setting.
Planned Features
1. A custom recorded sound track.
2. A full written lore
3. Snow biome overhaul
4. Lots and lots of alternate textures
Custom Sound Pack
Comes with instructions on how to install it. Requires this mod to use. Everything you need to use the sound pack for the FULL Post-Apocalyptic experience.
Install Instructions
1. Download Kahrs HD Patcher if you have not already. Run The patcher. It does not require you to choose a pack and is fairly simple to use.
2. Download LAST DAYS
3. Place LAST DAYS.Zip in the your texture pack folder.
4. Open your game and select LAST DAYS From Mods and texture packs..
* This version of the pack has a few (1 or 2) item placeholders by Glimmar and other artists. These items will not be in any future versions of the pack. Glimmar's steampunk which was the source of many placeholders can be found here
1. DOKU! for starting an amazing pack!
2. History! for continuing Last Days!
3. Halphprice for the soundpack and plenty of help+alts! Big thanks!
4. luna_panshiel for providing a complete set of music to fit the theme.
5. ScoutTactical for providing the concept and stylistic foundation for wool blocks.
6. Dying Breed for adding battle towers mod support.
7. Orange_Anything for making the sounds for the chicken, zombie, cow, and pig.
8. Glimmar for allowing his wonderful item sprites to be used as placeholders.
9. Nairagorn for providing Humans + support
10. Dereksmith for making signature banners
11. Sealystar for making a few awesome textures for the terrain.png
12. Farty16 for providing the screen for night vision and making the website.
& and every one who has made suggestions or donated

This has got to be the best texture pack I have ever used. And i've used a lot. as a huge Fallout fan, I was very impressed with how legit the textures were. 10 out of 10.

jesus its just that awesome... its so awesome you HAVE to post to the post
The thing is some of this stuff is hard to re-texture the way we do, we are also updating the mobs to HD.
Going to Halph about the icons.png
Do you think that maybe no hunger bar at first but when you first get hunger only that bar of radiation would show?
no, the empty looking rad is actually COVERING the other bright rad, right. I have to do it that way, I WANTED IT THE OTHER WAY. but hey, other things to look at, for a vanilla mod, it's pretty good. couldn't do it that way with other ****ing texture packs.
OK, well I'll do up the items, and finish the potion effects if can be done.

Alright man, I removed the nose on the villager... On HD it was so off, it looks better now.
once I finish the body I will upload.

Oh and I like the health
sort of a seperating the items from the green background is my idea, have that texture for just personal items, the black line as a meter at the bottom (like a ruler, behind the health), not a huge fan of it, but it's minimal and functional. the hardcore health looks distinct enough and even more practical.
I got the roaches done, and ender man, and working on the snow man to be sort of a mini enderman. blaze is done, looks like a drill. works well for the idea they're malfunctioning Helium-3 miners.
just finishing the items but going to mess with a few stuff. gold needs to be lead/scrap. using the AWESOME looking texture from the old clay, the square scrap metal looking cube for the ore.
helps make what happens to glisting melon, that and making watches and rail tracks. gold doesn't make much sense for a lot of stuff, even in minecraft. the gold ingot being scraps of metal, the nuggest the bolts fromt eh scrap metal.
more like bottle caps, but still more like last days.

Love the gold idea. What should nether brick be? I was thinking metallic stuff, like they could be the areas where portals were supposed to be built and they had these beams and such to make it easier to traverse the moon.
I have to study for finals, and I have multiple projects due this week. I will upload what I have done for the villager, although its not much
hey man, that helps a ****ing lot, you did a lot fo the ground work right there, i do plan to include more variations of villagers, but if I can use that to make some place holders (at worst) that will work. whatever comes next will be based off that guy, that's for sure. i never thought of the full head mask, that makes them sort of like silent hill villagers, from the movie. i like it. it adds that perfect feel.

Actually, just having straight gold can make quite a bit of sense. Gold is actually very useful when it comes to making electronic devices, which would be why you need it for the clock since it's an advanced (for Minecraft at least) electronic device. And for the powered rail, it transmits power to the minecart so it can go faster. A for the glistering melon, since melons are syringes gold nuggets could be tiny circuits that you use to make "smart drugs", if that makes sense. What I'm saying is, while redstone is generally considered the only "electronic" thing in Minecraft, redstone could be considered basic wiring while gold would be used for things that need incredibly compact circuits, because we all know how big even simple redstone circuits are.
Hey guys, thank you for being so patient. There will be some huge changes coming soon. So please sit tight.
Oh my god! *resists tackle hugging since we don't really know each other*
I've been waiting so long for you to get back. We've been tossing around quite a few ideas in the thread, I highly suggest reading through them, even if they only end up as alts.
Okay, general stuff now. I've actually been looking into doing some work on a texture pack of my own because I want to stop just coming up with ideas and actually start drawing some of them up by myself. I really hope that eventually I can contribute some alts of my own to this pack, I can't wait until my skills get to the level where they'll match the quality of Last Days. Until then though, I'm going to try and keep providing you with massive walls of text :wink.gif: because ideas are as necessary as art for a pack like this.
