I was thinking something a bit more involved that just a random radioactive material. For instance, helium-3 because it's a key componet in fusion reactors and the moon is supposed to be rich in helium-3 and the blaze could be robots programmed to gather it and refine it by spinning it around at high speeds, removing the impurities. However they could also be outfitted with a defense system to take down anyone trying to infiltrate the lab (nether fortress) or steal the helium-3. Upon obtaining a rod of helium-3 though, the player could use it in the construction of a distilling stand, whereby they could use the small but ever present energy generated by the rod to react certain substances down into a form where they could mix with water. If taken and crushed into a powder though, the powder could be used in the same distilling process as an ingredient itself, where it's own innate energy would cause the water to take on qualities of a steroid, increasing the drinker's strength temporarily. If the powder were mixed with a portion of insulating slime and distilled, it would allow the drinker to traverse radioactive waste safely by creating a forcefield that would take incoming particles and fuse them together into heavier, non-penetrating particles while the slime protected the drinker from the intense heat given off by the waste. Lastly, if powdered helium-3 were injected into one of the devices worn by the so called "endermen", it would essentially activate the device as well as giving it a target. As "The End" is located on one of the remaining chunks of the moon in orbit, the device would take the helium-3 and actively try and seek out more of it. If released, the device would attempt to locate a gateway to "The End" and hover towards it phasing through solid matter if needed. If a player were the one to obtain this device though, they could re-program it to only hover a short distance before disengaging and falling to the ground where it could be retrieved and reactivated. Unless the player is a master programmer though it is unlikely they will be able to fully disengage the emergency teleport system in the device whereby the "endermen" teleport if in presence of a threat and the device would be liable to spontaneously teleport directly to "The End" instead of using the gateway. If a player manages to locate a gateway however they would be able to use multiple of these devices to provide power to the gateway and enable travel to "The End".
...
Whoa...
...I did not expect that to turn out as long as it did, but it would seem that I do like explaining things. I hope this can help with the lore but I was worried about tossing another idea into the pot when it seems that we're finally rolling.
I love that idea, I absolutely love it.
Oh yeah just wondering with the pack how did the moon get affected by the bombs??? because it is all destroyed and stuff (the moon) and i wouldn't think that the bombs could go that far. Could it?
There are already textures for those last I checked, I don't think you need to worry about those unless you want to do something special for the mossy and cracked brick since they only appear in strongholds.
I know there are already textures for it, I wanted strongholds to be HIVES, so I made them metal and not brick.

Well for what i know theres about a 1/100 chance for when your making stonebricks that they turn mossy or cracked. But i may be wrong i propely am.
Been working on thr potion effect icons , i guess i'd start with potions stuff and work my way out, got the letters done and the stand itself, figure the cauldron (not used for now) will be a barrel. trying to make the potion symbols the warning symbol looking, or something gunna have to tie it into lore at some parts, like the fire proof dna stuff, but it's theme colored at least. to go with pot spells.
hopefully i won't be doing everything, but even if it's all done i'll still be here to do alt, so even at 100% this will still be a very interesting pack.
also thinking that endermen should have the pumpkins as heads, explaining both A why there's so many TV's around, B why they make mechanical snow men and C, why you can see the TV screen int eh dark as them, would be cool to see the TV head man slowly turn head at you.
still works as an experiment, just the body could be the same even, or even a few varieties, with white or green mutant, or death claw brown. or even just machines entirely, either way, i think it makes the pumpkins have a better tie in all together. could then have little mutant robot snow men, that are sort of a parody of the endermen. something poetic about it. could be how the brains/computers in the end are making ender men, just lumps of dirt,t eh TV monitor is the control. sort of reminds me of the plot for vector man (tv's control the robots around the world because the master robot got a nuclear bomb put on his head, or something like that. (quite fitting) (**** i know a lot of nuclear fallout games and movies.)) They could be canabalized, or based off the same technology as the hall monitors.
I'd think the endermen's face would be static, maybe with 2 black eyes, sort of a negative space, an inverse the original concept. dunno if it would work, but the eye skin seems to be able to do the whole body texture to glow if need be, like the spiders.
...
radioactive spiders... that might be good for the cave spider, could make the whole thing glow... also wanted to make the hall monitor spiders have a few variation in colors at different points then just all or nothing like the customizer has.
but first, need at least one skin of everything, right?
Aside from Halph wanting to make it a cock, no one hasput forth any ideas for the Snow Golem, so I did some lame-storming and thought of making it a busted cleaning drone (like wall-e) that leaves trash and ash everywhere and even throws it at: The Fallen, Raiders, Huggatrons, Hall Monitors, Slimes etc.
Currenty I am working on making strongholds more like H.I.V.E.'s.
Also as a request, could slimes look more menacing? Like have the outer layer a cage, and the inner lair something creepy/terrifying?
Actually several people have suggested this already, including me.

thinking of doing 2 types of pot symbols, industiral and sort of a pip boy expression one with the last day face, teh spiders have.

Maybe have the screen have a few cracks in it?
And yeah that's why I asked if you had done villagers or not.
Does anyone know where I can find the mobskin for the Villager? because I can't find it...
oddly the realm of logic and reason are my domain, this other stuff only comes with it. if you can imagine it, i can make a logical reason for it. some call it troll logic, others call it Dungeon Master's complex.
As no one objected to my request for a wall of text, and since Price edited one in (I think) I'm going to follow through on it!
Okay, so first off, lily pads. There are two ways to go for it, either organic or inorganic. For the organic route, since swamps seem like they've been most affected by whatever happened, lily pads could be spots of unusually solid algae, seeing as it's possible to ram a boat into one and break your boat. The inorganic route is just your everyday, run-of-the-mill, floating trash, fairly unoriginal, but it could work better than the algae. Now for the other thing, the Enderdragon. Tying into what Price just said about the endermen, about them being robots with possibly a collective intelligence, I was thinking of giving them a sort of misguided mission to "cleanse" the world after the disasters it's gone through and the Enderdragon is their method of carrying this out. Starting from their base on one of the chunks orbiting The Moon, the endermen would assemble the enderdragon as a sort of spaceship, equipped with a forcefield that disintigrates any matter it comes into contact with not native to the base of the endermen. Before launching it towards earth, some of the endermen would teleport to Earth and gather samples of matter (blocks) to bring back, analyze, and try to return to it's pre-apocalyptic state so they could use that as a blueprint for rebuilding the world. Just as the Enderdragon is in the final stages of preparing for launch though, the player goes through the gateway to The End, and the final battle begins, for the fate of the Earth, either destroy the crystals delivering the final bits of power necessary for leaving lunar orbit and destroy the Enderdragon, or allow our home, however broken it may be, to be wiped from existence.
I need the old sound pack. I tried the new one, but I don't like the new cloth, footstep, wood, and spider sounds. :\
Maybe a few others I haven't heard yet. Could you please add a separate link to the old sound pack? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Oh, and I also wanted to add, this is my FAVORITE texture pack yet. It adds a whole new level of immersion. The music is just sick, the textures are amazing, the whole concept just blows me away. I don't mean to sound rude by saying some sounds take all of the immersion away, I just really miss the old sounds. :sad.gif:

well i haven't got much feedback for the sounds, i was trying to make it full. the 'new' spider sounds is actually the 'old' spider sounds, and to be honest a lot of people proffered it, give a chance, it'll grow on you. as for the footsteps you could try re-updating the old sounds, and then saving them as back up, and overwrite the footsteps.
why don't you like the footsteps sounds, particularly. just too different, or do they sound wrong?

oh god, the TL;DR is your signature. THAT'S ****ING RICH
anyways, you are right with the dragon, I'd wish to make all dragons a verti-bird like fallout, or something that is a flying aircraft, since the technology would be there, an it's not a terribly hard concept to reproduce with the right materials. Since red dragons are int eh mix, having the ender dragon like that would be the best route, would sort of show WHERE the **** the flying ships could come from.
I totally agree with everything else tho. the wings have the possibility to be used as plane or maybe even a weird ornithopter. that's it! an ornithopter, a great dune reference imho. 'thopters, yo. I like your ideas, becasue it's not just one person saying it but now a collective, or at least a couple of people. if everyone had an idea for everything and 2/3 people wanted it one way, that's the way I'd try to do it, if it made sense.
anyhoo, the key is, how to make the rest of ti not look so dragon. remove the spine ridges, and facial detail, as best as possible. want it to look like a bug in some ways, as thopters go.
so anyone notice the M3 boxes that chickens drop, make little tiny robots now...

I know, the spider sounds are the same, but they sound more high pitched.
I did replace some of the sounds from the new pack, with the old pack ones. It's great again. :smile.gif:
The footsteps are alright, but not subtle enough. You know? And like I said before, one starts sounding like a crack, or it's too sudden. The squeaky cloth sounds made my eyes roll into the back of my head. I really hope my feedback helps!
Couldn't you add a page with a sound customizer? Like, with previews of different sounds, and you get to add into the pack which ones you like, and which ones to keep out? Then it makes a custom sound pack directly off of your personal preference! That would be amazing. Just throwing it out there! :biggrin.gif:
im having a bit of a problom with this pack bein used along with humans+. i load humans+ alone, its all good. i use last days alone or with gun mods. all good. i use lastdays with humans plus. COMPLETE. UDDER. TEXTURE/GUI APOCOLYPSE!
im using 1.8 version of minecraft, 1.8 verstion of humans+. 1.8 version of last days. so far i have tried downloading the pack threw custom and included the humans+ option. when that didint work i tried plopping the contents of the items folder (wich i believe to be enterly diffrnt then the item folder (item, not items) into the gui folder in the tex pack zip hoping that will atleast fix the gui probloms. it didnt.so then i triedoveriting the entire humans+ portion of the texture pack with the vanilla humans+ jar folder (excluding the class files) and that didnt work. so im wondering, can anyone help me with this?

i wish they had a sound customizer, i'll ask the customizer guys about it, I can fix the sound pack, you gave the first input, i'll do it up, been busy with textures. ok, so I'll see what can be done about a custom sound pack. i got so many ideas about stuff i make too many varieties. i dunno how croco always seems so sure about one option over another.
going to get a mouse to work better, this one is frustrating. I care about this, just I have a day job :/
i already fixed that problom, and it has nothing to do with what my actual problom is. im talking abouut the textures AND icon guii's getting all screwy because the texturepack dosnt seem to be compatible, and im tryin to find a way to fix it. one example of my problom? the sword texture (and gui) binding with the medkit texture. so i ask you, when will YOU learn to read hm?also i only have 8 posts left today so i cant really go on an extended rant argument right now.
