omg I've got an idea! the potions will be somekind of drugs like in FO, for ex the speed potion will be a psycho or somthing like that :biggrin.gif:
Personally, I'm all for the drugs int his game, I think it's something that always define a more mature playing experience, cuz frankly, I'm so sick and tired of magic potions. we don't have magic pots in our world, if we do or did or will, it will be under the term narcotic, from "MAGIC HERBAL TEA" to "SPACE MARINE STIMULANTS" it's all a drug, anything that affects your physiological, so healing or stronger, or whatever. pretty much every game if it's not an equipment it IS a drug. last days is not a magical game. that's how we can make the magical stuff real.
THROUGH GREAT SCIENCE!
anyways, I got the sounds and songs and everything done except for cave sounds, they take a lot more skill to get them the quality I'd like them,. that and there's like 16 of them...
wait, I could just copy and past them, who would know . . . .
Dirt doesn't float "in our world".
Trees don't float either.
Exploding green things aren't in "our world" either.
Nor are Zombies.
Or Ghasts.
Or Zombie Pigmen.
TL;DR: Your point is?
On-Topic: Am I the only one who thinks this is the only decent Sci-Fi themed texture pack?
On-Topic: Am I the only one who thinks this is the only decent Sci-Fi themed texture pack?
Definitely not. Every other sci-fi pack I've tried was godawful, from the blocks down to the items, nothing fits in the Minecraft world the way it is supposed to. Last Days is not only internally consistent in style, but makes sense in the Minecraft world as well (especially if you edit en_us.lang). It's also the only texture pack I've ever played that made vanilla (no mods) enjoyable. Also, Huggatron ftw. xD

my point is this is the only decent sci-fi themed texture pack for a reason. I've been trying to rationalize everything possible. The **** floating is from the holystone lab experiment which blew up the moon, causing the nether within the moon itself.
The green dudes are the Huggatron v2 that were made by orbital industries that overtime have malfunctioned, thus overloading their atomic cores when they try to hug.
zombies are from nuclear fallout from the war after mr.history scammed money to make 'the experiment' that blew up the money, from other countries.
Ghasts are secur-all, like many other types of science robotics that are running afoul in a run down world.
pigmen are the zombie scientists/robots of the doomed laboratory, that tried to make a portal to the moon, thus sucking the lab into the moon, and flipping the moon inside out.
The tools are scavenged, and the points are made up and don't matter.
The skeletons are scavengers, like sand people from dune. the spiders are hall monitors used int eh hives in the case of an emergency, and they've gone rouge after escaping, either damaged or what not.
the mass number of these guys isn't explained, but this world is suppose to be sparse, but **** there's a lot of trees and broken robots. whatever. the carry-all sheep have fans with them, it's still not magical. and magic, isn't sci-fi, it's sci-fa. so that might be part of the reason it rocks as sci-fi. the magic fantasy world of minecraft, works as a technologically advanced then ruined world of Last Days.
everything's done for the sounds, i got a bunch of public domain commercials and songs for the cave sounds, making them come in like lost radio signals. i dunno why, but it'll help add the atmosphere, better then random noises at least. Took me a bit to get this all together, so APPRECIATE THE WORK.
Hello, I love this texturepack, I made a config file for the water shader mod and a language pack to fit. Here are some screenshots, if the creator of the pack is willing to add the files, please do so!
Edit: All the items are properly named, at least, how I thought was proper. For instance: Coal is now called Battery, and Snow is now called Ash, etcetera.
Our great creator is currently in the middle of the halloween texture pack contest but as soo as he is done i am sure he will add these they are awesome.
Sorry, I think you are talking about someone else. I just started with it yesterday, and finished it. I tried to stay as faithfull to the pack as I could, so I just opened the customizer in Minecraft Customizer .Something and copy pasted as much as I could, but some stuff I had to came up with myself. I am now starting on Achievement part, so that makes sense as well.
Edit: I also made a video about the texture pack to show how well some mods fit the texturepack, like water shader mod, Human+ (I am working on the textures for that) and MAtmos r6(Adds more sounds to the game, what I did was rename the folder called wildlife, so you won't hear the critters, but do hear other ambient sounds, like wind.) Here it is:
i wanted the lava to sound like a gieger counter in that matmos thing, also have unique sounds for each cotton block like clock ticking and stuff...
well, i've been inspired, that and i've found some good free sounds, and am making over all of the sounds on the pack, dirt, grass, liquid, all of it now. it's going to be a whole new GRITTY world.
Install the mod, might have to do a fresh install if you had the OLD Sound Mod from the previous sound pack, then overwrite the resource folder with my resource folder in the Sound Pack. Will work with 1.9 and such, if you follow tehe Sound Mod Enabler's link's instructions.
I'll do up a new pack on a new OFFICIAL release of minecraft (i.e. new sounds to replace)
I did a lot of work on there, and am quite proud, hopefully OP gets updated to have this link soon too :biggrin.gif:
(just so you know, I've redone ALL of the sounds, to the T. I dunno how well it is exactly, but let me know, as far as I can tell it's great. IF there's ANYTHING at all, lemme know in PM or on here. Thanks a lot I hope you appreciate the long hours I put into it. Also changed the spider back to the old sounds without the underwater sound. also cave sounds are nifty.)
Haha, nic :wink.gif:

Holy moly! I think you're the one who inspired part of my personal custom en_us.lang file. Did you put one up back in History's thread?
