Wow. That's awesome. Now you just have to make a diamond one that trumps it :tongue.gif:

THIS.
IS.
AWESOME!
Seriously, we need that in the customizer! It will be my new bronze armour (Industrial Craft mod) for now! :biggrin.gif:
Yeah, 1.8 is out, and I just checked in the resources folder, there doesn't seem to be any new sounds! sorry! :sad.gif:
I am getting all the songs covered with other tales from the wasteland, from pre-war and post-war. I think it's interesting.
as well as I have a whole bunch of new songs made up for the game as well, for those sick of the fallout sound track. a bit more upbeat, but essentially the same feel. It's got a good feel to it. I just want to know what to make the sounds for enderman, is it a robot or is it gunna be a zombie.
I think a hover bot is a good idea, just do the legs invisible, makes them more sneaky and cool looking I'd think. a classic last days idea, totally from left field. everyone will have zombie and mutant looking skins for them. I can't really do sounds for both. but a squeeky old robot would be good. I can make that creepy... be sort of like pyramid head sounds :biggrin.gif:
as for rust roaches should they be hissing cockroaches or more the traditionally wet crawling sound, or more of a humming sound, a bit more unique, but can be unsettling still :biggrin.gif:
internet on Saturday, so i'll have EVERYTHING done by then
AdventureCraft is like making customs maps, but VERY scripted. Its a stand alone mod for those who really want a completely different minecraft experience. It has a huge RPG factor to it, its really like building your own minecraft/zelda collaboration. multiple mods added aswell. Also you create how the map generates and what areas are snow/desert/etc. But i am going to make that after i finish the vanilla version.
The map is coming along well. Lots of new ideas popping in, its just that school started and i have slowed down my progress quite a bit. I actually have to pay attention this year, I am now taking classes that can affect the college i plan to attend.
Ah OK, so its sorta like what notch had in mind at first for the adventure update. Thats sounds pretty interesting. I love those oldschool RPGs, so I'm sure it would be a huge draw for me.
That's good. Its also not that bad that you have to slow down either. It gives you more time to think rather than do, and it helps you flesh out your ideas. I hear you though. Once college gets thrown into the mix, it gets a lot harder. I'm not sure what grade you are, but if you are in 9th-10th it gets a lot easier senior year.
Croco, I respect your ability to answer everyone's questions. Here is my concern: A while ago, Halph Price and I came to an agreement to do the Aether, him with all the blocks and items, me with all the mobs. For reasons I do not care to explain, I have been offline and unable to work on the project for a good deal of time. So if I submit textures, would you be willing to put them in the customizer?
Thanks, WalkingDisaster. It seems like you got that all sorted out with HalphPrice while I was gone and I would be totally fine with putting your textures in the customizer. Just post them and send them and I'll do so once I have the time. I hope that answers your question. :wink.gif:
I'm still offline, I'm in a library, but I've been working on stuff @ home. I've got the blocks done as you've seen, and half the items, I'm almost done the rest of the items. It's all good, croco's been busy with 1.8, it's a lot.
speaking of which, you can make teh mushrooms mechanical thingiys that would replicate, and then teh hydro transformer thing, that replaced the bonemeal, would still make sense in that they transform into protection.
it goes along well with the mechanical tree thing... and then mushroom alt skins just for aesthetics, as the are really suppose to be machines...
best I can give you, this is why I've been waiting to finish the lore, it's going to change A LOT, I'll see what happens in the end, before people take it all as canon. Cocoons, scrap shacks, raiders, fallen, mutant rats, and deformed cows, all a apart of it still. the bone meal thing int eh raiders backpacks was suppose to be sort of the water of life, like the sand people in dune. sort of the way they survive, and why they only come out in the dark.
sadly they're dressed like hill billies, you'll note i tried to give them a sort of eastern look as well as gas masks. just so they're not as deranged as much as organized.... i mean they can hide their scent from hall monitors....
Hey babe! Awkward nickname I gave him, if you guys are wondering...
I like that idea, since red mushrooms are practically insta-houses. I may have to make the (small) mushrooms mechanical. I'll play around with that later. Good idea. Speaking of bonemeal, I forgot to update the dyes :dry.gif: ...
Well, I was taking a liking to the mechanical tree. But I noticed that they looked strange in buildings, so I changed it back to the original, but I did edit the leaves. I personally think they look way better now. They also look a little more mechanical. :wink.gif:
Well, I personally don't think they look like hillbillies. The only part that would be Hillbilly-ish would be the overalls. They have goggles and a cloth around their head to protect them from the blowing sand. And their pants and shirts are worn probably from combat and use. Although it is true they could look a little more organized. I'll try to think of ways to do so without editing the original too much. The gasmask is a good place to start.
Well. Nice to hear from you again. Just want to put my opinion out there: I think the mushrooms should be, well, mushrooms. If Croco just wants to do platforms, I will happily make organic mushrooms for the customizer. I have been dieing for a chance to get my work in this pack. I also have an armor texture I will upload as soon as I get home. (Made it on a lazy summer afternoon for personal use a while ago.) My plan for now is to slowly crank out Aether mobs, but please ask me if one of you guys need something. When I get home I will upload my armor, then make the finishing touches to my Aerwhale/Cargo Drone and upload that too.
PS: Ever heard of the wasteland mod? Magical synergy with this pack...
Feel free to make some organic mushrooms. I'm sure there's some other people that share your opinion. I just like them as platforms because I think they fit in a little more. I also like robotic stuff in general. And I'll be sure to tell you if I need anything. I can see from your armor that you understand the Last Days style.
Yes I have. Its really cool. I'm probably going to add a link to it in the misc. section. I wonder if he would be interested in making a version specifically for Last Days where the only changes from default are: The sky color, tree spawn rate, no snow/evergreens. That would be awesome.
Croco! I'm very sorry! I realize I've just given you some misinformation! earlier I said silverfish were harmless. I completely forgot I was in CREATIVE mode, and thus they could not hurt me! keep up the good work!
also, I really don't want to burst any bubbles, but there's still a very good chance those sounds aren't placeholders, or at least silverfish. I saw what the other guy said about the resources folder, but notch might just not plan to give silverfish their own sounds anyway. the simple fact is that in vanilla, the spider sounds work great for them, and he might keep that. I'm not saying there's no hope at all! I'm just saying it's a good idea to make a robo-thingy anyway, just in case!
I found that out the hard way. Lol! I always think they look like porcupines when I see them in default.
Yeah, now that its officially out I noticed that. Its so depressing! Minecraft really needs new sounds anyway. Maybe some soundpack loader can add sounds to them? That's my last hope! :unsure.gif:
A suit of armor I made awhile ago, and the related assets. Anyone may make of this what they will, but I sure would like to see these in the customizer.
Oh wow! This is really good! I'm totally going to add this. Good job WalkingDisaster! It reminds me of the Dead Space armor a little.

I like your music, I'm interested in hearing the new stuff. I'm not sure about the endermen. Supposedly they have the same sounds as the zombies, so I'm not sure what we should do. I tried to make the endermen as organic as possible for the zombie sounds to work. But if you have a way to give them their own sounds, how about a mechenical-ish moaning or heavy breathing? I'm not sure, your way better then me at this stuff!
I like the hoverbot idea too, but heres the problem. Their arm and leg textures are the same thing. So if we get rid of his legs, we get rid of his arms! :blink.gif: You should still be able to do creepy squeaky sounds though, I made it part robotic.
Like I said before, they have they unfortunatly have the same sounds as the spiders, but if you are able to get around that. I made them little metal snake things. So maybe you could use a cheap little remote control car sound for them. Or maybe metal panels scraping echeaother? I could make a organic one like I originally planned if you can give them their own sounds, that would be awesome! :smile.gif:
Ist this mod compatible with the Wild Grass, Wild Lilies and Dynamic Lights Mod ?
This texture pack looks interesting, but I need at least the Dynamic Lights Mod to play. :-)
I don't think its compatible with Wild Grass or Lilies, but it should work with dynamic lights just fine. There really isn't a point to the wild grass mod anymore, but the Lilies sound interesting.
-------- Regarding the 1.8 update:
I forgot to update the dyes. I'll release newer version with dye sometime this week.
I love the Last Days Texture Pack and I was gonna make a nuclear apocalypse mod so could we (me and my modding team) could use the Last Days Texture Pack as a base for our mod's textures?

Hiya Croco! Haven't popped in to say hi for such a long time it's crazy! Hope things are well for you!
Anyways, the 1.8 stuff looks great, really love that little stone brick + iron bars building you have there. It looks awesome. :biggrin.gif:

I wasn't talking about your sounds Halphypoo, I mean Notch's! There ARE no new sounds for endermen or roaches in vanilla, thus you CANNOT make any for them yourself. sucks, doesn't it? :\

Technically, you could make your own sounds for them, it would just take a little bit of modding though.
New sounds in 1.9 hopefully?

Yes, you must! Seriously though, its very fun walking through your old worlds and seeing what they look like in a post apocalyptic world.

NOOOOOOOO! :sad.gif:
Aw, I was bonding with my "RustRoach". That's OK I guess. I can still use the name for the robotic ones.
Well, its here now!
Yes please! There's so much potential in the enderman sounds. They could be so much creepier!

YEAH CRAFTSMAN :DDDDDD
All you have to do is drag the file in your JAR... do you have winRar or 7zip?
Anyway, I went to the customizer site and it is ready for 1.8 packs! I'd say Croco needs to get his new textures up. *hint*
