Yeah, some of the snowfall textures should probably be tested in-game before anyone plans for serious usage. I think it's awesome as hell, but then again I don't play Minecraft the same way as most players. xD You think it's bad in that image, try using it in game and you'll realize it's even worse when the snow is moving. I couldn't even see the building right in front of me when I took that shot, but the glass from his wall is barely visible in the photo.
I haven't been in a snowy biome since I started using Last Days, so I had selected that one when it became available on the customizer and just now actually saw it in game. I was preparing to build a walled-in snow harvesting site far away from my base when the snow started falling and completely blinded me. I think I've found a good texture on the customizer that's moderately difficult to see in, but not ridiculously so. I can't remember which one it was, though.
Didn't I already mention I was British when I was talking about the riots.. Across England?
Got a problem with Brits, ol' chap?
Brits ROCK!! I have an awesome friend whose British and his accent is billiant!! His father's is even better. It's a shame there aren't more Brits in the world.

I really like this pack, but it really seems TOO monotone a lot of the time, especially indoors. I understand you're going for the bleak post-apocalyptic look, but you can still get that if you threw a few more browns and greens in there, even a little yellow/orange here and there wouldn't hurt.
Again, I like the style, but too much grey makes things blend together too much and creates visual boredom.
So basically, would it be possible to see a version of this pack with more contrasting colors in the future?
Well, the whole theme of Last Days is bleak-grayness. Although I do understand your concerns, and they will (sort of) be addressed in the newest version. The pack wont be super colorful, but the colors will vary a little more. If the update isn't good enough, you could always check out the Customizer (link on OP).
I don't get much time to browse every page, so I often miss out a lot of info.. But I'm glad we're on the same wave-length there about the roaches. I like "rust-roach" as it fits in with the theme of corroding and the oxidation of iron on some of the textures..
It's like the roaches have "evolved" and feed on metals instead of.. Well.. Everything else.. That or they could be mechanical, sort of like "almost" everything else in the pack.. It would explain why they eat metal? I don't know..
Also, I like the second picture for the trees. Although the trees in general seem to be having a major problem with this pack. They just don't fit in at all really.. However, I read an idea on here lately of "Rubbish Collectors" or something? Poles in the earth that collect debris/waste left all around. If only we could implement that mod that makes mobs look different from each other, then apply it to the leaves texture.. Or even the grass texture..
Then you could have all kinds of different parts of grass covered in trash, metal, debris.. Anything. It would really work well with the pack..
No problem. And I like the idea of them eating metal because the silverfish mob supposedly jump out of blocks you're mining on rare occasions. I want to start working on them, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what goes where in the silverfish.png.
I like the dead tree too. I also agree that trees look out of place in Last Days. I like the magnet pole idea too. But it would end up looking sort of ugly/strange on the big trees. Which the issue with the scrap shacks we have right now. I want a mod that keeps the world generation as it is and just makes trees rarer. That way almost any tree would work.
That's another good idea. Which would be awesome with or without the magnet trees.
Wow, haven't been here in a while...
Well i Though i would contribute.
anyone heard of a mod called single player RPG?
I'll upload textures in a sec.
Edit:

Thank you Shadowgvl! Unfortunately the customizer doesn't support this mod, but if it ever does, let me know so I can add these textures. :wink.gif:
If there's anything I like more about this thread and the texture pack, it's the people who're getting involved to help Croco. Whether it's people working on textures, lore, sound/music or just ideas for anything, we're all on the same page when it comes to what we want and don't want..
Of course, we have our few personal opinions of what should be used and what shouldn't, but no one disregards the ideas given completely.. And HalphPrice's customiser helps with variety when people do start to complain..
I agree. The Last Days community is awesome. All these posts and support makes working on Last Days worth it. The amount of support you guys have given me is mind blowing. I love how I can come in here and ask for ideas/suggestions, and everyone responds with awesome stuff. The customizer is a wonderful tool too. It makes giving people options so much easier then having an Alts file. It also makes customization much more accessible to the average person.
anyways, it's a lot of ****ing work. my god does aether have a lot. i got the freezer and other stuff done up tho, and the ambrisioum shards. the mob skins aren't done yet, but everything else looks great. check it out :wink.gif: http://www.minecraftcustomizer.net/view.php?pack=Last Days btw it's croco customizer
also CROCO do up a diamond armor of the chain mail for the one fan on teh customizer, just change the color, it is a cool armor, he wants it for diamond armor also, which is fair since there is no chain mail.... so the icon would be needed :biggrin.gif:
Yeah, I was looking at some videos of the mod and it has so much stuff in it! Once you finish up what you need to do, just send me it and I'll put it in the customizer. I haven't really done any blocks yet because they are all your style, and mixing our styles might come out strange. I would love to do some mobs though! I really enjoy making them. If you want I can download the mod and start working on them once I finish the Last Days update.
Alright, I will once I finish up the update. Which will probably be in around a day or two. Hopefully they will add a way to get chainmail in 1.8.
I tried the heavy ash option for snowfall on the customizer. Here's what it looked like:
The red and blue on the left there is another player helping me find my way around out there without getting completely lost. It was like wandering around in fog or a blizzard. :biggrin.gif:
Oh wow, I'll have to fix that right away! The transperacny must have gotten screwed up when it was uploaded. Now I'm worried the rain is messed up too!

Yeah, I'll have to start doing that now. I like the idea of very heavy snow fall, but I'll try to make it look more like snow/ash. I think the only reason it was like that is because of an issue with transparency. Then people could choose the blizzard option so that it would be a risk going out too far if they didn't leave a trail.
Oh right, sorry I thought you made it. I'll be sure to check these out later on tonight, I've sort of got back into MC again now.. And 1.8 should be soon any way..
Actually, HalphPrice made it, but is busy working on his pack right now. He made way more alts then I did. Right now I'm busy working on the next version of the pack which will come out with 1.8, so I haven't been adding any alts.
Oh wow, I'll have to fix that right away! The transperacny must have gotten screwed up when it was uploaded. Now I'm worried the rain is messed up too!
I don't think it's an issue with transparency, there are just that many pixels of ash falling. Once you stack several moving layers of that around the player, it gets really thick :biggrin.gif:

Maybe... I'll have to take a look at it and test it out.

exactly, i made it from that extreme to a very light ash, and dark one and light one, i knew what i was doing, nothing was a mistake... I think there needs to be a bit heavier rain, but that's not really in anyones favor for anything, just for morbid survivalist. the snow adds to the sno bioms, but the rain is fine i think, i haven't heard any complaints. there's like 6 snows, snow the ligtests, soot, as just light dark flakes, light ash, in a 9/11 way, dark ash, medium ash, and then that pic above, HEAVY ashes. I'm proud of it, i didn't make them transparent, which, i dunno how much of a difference it is. might help actually. don't have a bunch of them saved unfortunately. it was the same texture with 3 layers. all i got's a png but it's not hard to recreate.
There is something VERRY wrong with my minecraft.
Zhe only two mods i have on when this pic was taken were TooManyItems and OptiFine
check out the link in my sig, below the image, optifine, it has a few versions. one for multi core i use, it helps, but just having the simplest version will increase EVERY. they're the best for running minecraft.
mushrooms should be the scrap shacks man, THAT SHOULD BE THE ****ING SCRAP SHACKS!!!! keep doku's idea alive, make it a cool looking platform
make brown, a wooden looking one, maybe just turn the texture sideways 90ccw or 90cw :biggrin.gif: and make the red one like and armored scrap shack they used to survive. adds a role playing element to it, like the towns...
also CROCO do up a diamond armor of the chain mail for the one fan on teh customizer, just change the color, it is a cool armor, he wants it for diamond armor also, which is fair since there is no chain mail.... so the icon would be needed :biggrin.gif:
Lol that was me who made that request :tongue.gif:
Anyway.. I lost all my stuff, had to reformat my hard drive, so it'll be a bit before I'll get the mystic ruins/ores/stones stuff up D:
The brown one could be a landing platform for aircrafts maybe? red, idk
Try using CCleaner if your computer as a whole is running really slowly. If its not that, then try reinstalling Minecraft. I'm not very good at these things, so those are my only suggestions, I hope they help. :wink.gif:
I like that idea, I also like HalphPrice's idea. So lets sort of fuse them together:
Large platforms built to keep the ground above Cocoons level. This would prevent the Cocoons from being uncovered and exposed to radiation and other hazards in the event of an earthquake. These platforms worked well at first, but the massive amounts of seismic activity caused by the war broke them apart. Seperated from eachother the platforms began to malfunction and thrust high into the air. After some time, only a few survived. Once survivors started coming out of the Cocoons, they made these "platform forests" home. In these "forests" survivors were protected from the elements and surrounded by scrap. They used this scrap to make small shacks on top of the platform supports. These shacks protected them from the whatever came out during the night. After some time founder of these "settlements" died out or became feral.
So there is my idea. What do you guys think? And yes I know my writing isn't very good, I apologize for that. :tongue.gif:
Is there a way for me to use only the Last Days sounds in the overworld/nether, but keep the sounds in the Aether? (I'm planning on a little series, with the end being the hero reaching the Aether, and I want it to keep the heaven theme to it). Thank ya for helping the little n00b.
EDIT: On topic, liked the post above mine. Nothing says "total nuclear annihilation" like a shitload of TNT going off in a populated Minecraft city, lol. I really like the texture pack, and although it does make my low end comp lag a lot, it's really worth it for the awesome textures. Thanks for the work, love it!

I think you can just delete the aether sounds before you do anything with it. Then when it installs it wont use the Aether sounds because there won't be any. I'm not sure that will work though. If it doesn't try PMing HalphPrice. Hes the one who made it.
I agree. :smile.gif: It is unfortunate that Last Days runs slowly though. I haven't played with it on a slower computer but I heard that the Optifine mod helps out a lot. It might help you enjoy the pack more!
I'm only posting so that there is a post made every day.. The thread seems like it's gone quiet over the past few days, is everyone back at school/college/uni?
Pretty much. Its depressing. :sad.gif:
-------------------- A few questions:
What should raw/cooked chicken be? (Keep in mind we already have canned foods.)
What should the melon slices be? ( I made the Melon a supply box.}
I have moved again, **** I've been busy, and no internet yet. Hopefully in a week. I got an entire track of new original tracks for the sound pack and was going to redo some of them up. If anyone's got qualms with the old sound pack, or like anything in particular, let me know. Not going to change anything, just need to add to it for 1.8 coming out (that's when you'll see the changes)
also got a new pack almost done up, still working on a lot of details, but the terrain.png is done. Cyberpunk styles.

I'm doing pretty good. Pretty busy, but I still have enough time to work on the pack and stuff like that, so its fine.
I agree. It will make the landscapes much more believable and give me a good reason to build a dock!
No problem. And I like the idea of them eating metal because the silverfish mob supposedly jump out of blocks you're mining on rare occasions. I want to start working on them, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what goes where in the silverfish.png.
