Thanks for the map, I like the term badlands. we use that in my server for the part where it's lawless... Anyways, Croco is back so he'll be taking care of the rest. Have a good day.
No no, I'm not gone, I've just been working in the background. Speaking of which, the newest version of Last Days will be coming out soon. Anyways, glad to hear your okay Laguna. I'll be sure to be more careful when I mess with plugs now!
I'm cant wait for Enderman too! I'm looking forward to having him scare the heck out of me. I've been thinking about what I want him to be and I'm thinking some sort of creepy cyborg. Like a failed experiment by Orbital Industries. Or maybe something else, I'm not sure, any suggestions?
I'm thinking the Silverfish should just be a darker insect. Perhaps a cockroach if its possible? I personally think that would be an excellent touch to the Last Days world. Aren't cockroaches the only things that are supposed to survive a nuclear war? :tongue.gif:
By the way, I'm sure some of you have noticed that I updated the OP. It is much more organized now, but I still need a little bit of help with that. I want to make it so that when you click on one of the banners it will open the spoiler tag, any ideas? I'm not very good at this stuff.
most threads hav eit like that with a spoiler for the link, most people understand it. you can have a sort of synopsis before the spoiler ad then instructions to click SPOILER for more, for the REALLY speshul ones. but pictures need to be in a spoiler.
The Mysterious Mr. History and Orbital Industries
The year was 1948, A young inventor calling himself "Mr. History" was elbows deep in the creation of the worlds first artificial intelligence. He called it The Huggatron and fancied it mans best friend since the dog. The Huggatron was primarily designed for human companionship. It came complete with full mobility, a voice and emotion emulation system, and the means of completing simple tasks at its possessors will. When The Huggatron was nearly complete Mr. History sought council with a series of wealthy and powerful men. "Gentlemen," said Mr.History," I present to you, a machine unlike any you have ever seen outside of the cinema. Naturally, I would not have asked to speak with you if I had not something magnificent in my possession. With me, I have a device that will change the world as we know it. This is a device that will touch the minds and the hearts of people the world round. This device will define our voyage in to the future. I present to you, the worlds first Automated Man, The Huggatron!" Naturally the men were eager to invest, Mr.History quickly gather a fortune which he placed into founding Orbital Industries in 1951. Three years later in 1954 He released The Huggatron. As expected, It took the world by storm. The Huggatron sold by the millions at a less than economical price. Within six months Mr.History was able to pay off all of the investments plus interest and protect Orbital Industries autonomy for good.
Six years, 3 Editions of The Huggatron, and billions of dollars later, Orbital Industries announced that in three months it would embark upon a voyage to the moon. Many could not believe that such a thing was possible, yet, they had not believed in robots either. On October 30th, 1960 Orbital Industries landed on the moon. The whole world watched as a half dozen men planted the Orbital Industries banner at the Landing. After the footage of the landing was played for the world Mr.History went on a press trip and met with the leaders of all of the worlds super powers. He announced privately to each of the world leaders that he was establishing a weapons testing facility beneath the earths surface. Access to the facilities would be public, however it would be at considerable cost. He told each of the leaders that many of the others had already paid in advance for early access to the facilities and they would be left behind if they did not get on board. As expected, almost every country forked out the money to use the facilities before they were even opened. Using the money invested by the governments Orbital Industries was able to open its testing center in 1964.
-Anonymous, attributed to "History", Orbital Industries CEO
The world's superpowers and Orbital Industries proceeded to destroy the moon during weapons research there and in orbit at Holystone Labs, and damaged the world with the weapons facility due to various tests gone awry.
Orbital Industries built a complex of underground "Cocoon" shelters, and clustered them in "HIVEs". People payed a fortune to live in these "Cocoons".
-"Seal", pre-apocalypse historian
Little did they know that these wouldn't offer the protection that they initially hoped for. The less fortunate were left to scavenge and fight for themselves. In an attempt to distance themselves from danger they built thousands of makeshift buildings, many raised above the ground on stilts to offer protection against the various mutated creatures that wandered the wastes. These became known as 'Scrap-Shacks'. This is a place you really don't want to exist, be it above ground on sheltered within a Cocoon, it will be harsh, it will be hopeless, it will be your last days.
-"Doku", executive at Orbital Industries
HUMANOIDS:
Fallen Mutant: A radioactive-mutant human. Consisting of contaminated surface dwellers, these feral former-humans will kill on sight and should not be pitied. They have been known to carry, for reasons unknown, propellers.
Raider: Although genetically human (with the occasional mutation), these surface dwellers are largely wild and scour the landscape, pillaging precious resources from unprepared survivors. Their weapon of choice is a crossbow or harpoon, and they often carry satchels of stolen goods.
Mutant Scientist: As the name implies, these are mutant scientists. Often found on the ruins of the moon, though occasionally found on Earth, often during storms.
BEASTS:
Mega-Amoeba: A massive, radioactive protist colony. Only found very rarely and deep within the earth, for reasons unknown. The goop they consist of works as a glue, primarily on Orbital Industries Mechanical Actuators.
Lab Dog: These talking dogs are descended from genetically modified dogs captured from the wastes after the apocalypse. Despite talking, they're not too bright and will knowingly jump into various hazards. The scientists at the facility used to carry small satchels with them, so the lab dogs have been imprinted with a fondness for them...
Stoneback: A mutant species of cow. It has a highly durable, leathery hide used by surface-dwellers to construct crude armor. Like its pre-apocalypse ancestors, it produces enough milk for human use. This milk also now contains a chemical central to the production of health kits.
Megarat: Although it is called a Megarat as it resembles a large rodent, its taxonomy is unknown. It may indeed be related to the rat, but it may have descended from the common pig. Whatever the case, it is a common sight on the surface and provides edible, though not wonderful, meat.
ORBITAL INDUSTRIES ROBOTS:
Huggatron: Orbital Industries' first and most successful robot, the Huggatron was created as a social robot, given a cute-sounding name and expressive face. However, in addition to being dangerously nuclear-powered, the Huggatron's AI failed during the apocalypse, and now all remaining instances are prone to self-destruction upon human contact.
Hall Monitor: One of Orbital Industries' more dangerous robot projects, the Hall Monitor was once deployed as an automatic security guard in the Cocoons. Since Orbital's control center was abandoned, the bots have gone rogue, killing anyone who comes close. They are solar-powered, and, due to a bug, they will stop and charge in any bright light.
Securall: Orbital Industries' state-of-the-art heavy-duty security drone, the Securall hovers using a much more powerful version of the Huggatron's nuclear core and shoots shrapnel blasts at intruders. Due to a design error, these shots are compact enough that they will actually bounce backwards if hit hard enough. Most functional Securalls still guard Orbital's moon base.
Saddleback: The saddleback is a robot, originally created by Orbital Industries to deliver construction supplies to workers. Most of the surviving ones hold plain scrap metal, but some still hold such objects as radios, lights, or crates.
Mobile Munition Manager (MMM): Also known as a 3M or Triple-M, this robot was created by Orbital Industries to deliver munitions to soldiers. Most of the ammunition has run out, though these robots often carry propellers from crossbow or harpoon-gun bolts.
Temperature Monitor: A robot from Orbital Industries. As air and water temperatures began to fluctuate wildly, millions of these robots were deployed into the oceans to track temperature changes and report them. They hold black light bulbs used in their surveys.
nice work man, stellar job. I got most of that too, and it is that a lot to write. just because of the aether mod, you could make the weapons testing at the Holystone Lab, which was the one that orbits with the moon now, in the aether lore I scratched up a few pages back. oh, and the sound pack, the wolves talk. they were escaped lab dogs, that interbred with wild canines.... sort of a reference to a boy and his dog movie, check it out if you like post-apoc movies.
Is there a place I can download all of the alternative textures in one .zip, without having to go through and repeatedly download off of the customizer link?

I believe not, Croco should make a .zip file for stuff like that. Kinda like the way Glimmar has his set up.
Finished up the elemental creepers textures. I made a dulled out version, and a more vivid version, so people had a bit of a choice on their huggatrons.

What if you make the trees into magnetic poles the government used to collect trash/debris in pre-war times?
well the idea is they're dead trees, i wanted robotic replicating robots trees, that spew garbage as a by product (flowers and stuff that surrounds the grassier area you'd find trees).
still the dead trees is better then the scrap shacks that people use to hide in.
You are my hero man. That was entertaining to read and saved me so much time on the lore section. Thank you! Will you be doing more? I just want to know so I can start on what you wont be doing.

Nice! The dull ones fit in with Last Days a little more, but the vivid ones are probably easier to differentiate from a distance. Unfortunately the customizer is screwed up for me at the moment, so it might be a day or two before anything is added.
----- Question!
Do you guys want actual trees in the next default version?

DIDN'T FINISH. EATIN' DINNER!
Thanks, for the lore mash up from both Doku and History.
The basic story for my adventure map fits with it right? or am i a few years off?

Ahh, alright. Any requests for other mods to texture up? If not, I'll keep hunting down for various mods. I actually enjoyed doing that btw. XD
P.S.: I just realized I forgot about the cookie creeper. Oops. I'll get on that.

There probably will be. I'm just not sure what I want them to look like yet and I'm sort of busy with aether and the update.
I will, once I finish aether and maybe a few other mods.
I love that idea. I'll definitely have to add an alt like that later on.

Well I like the magnetic pole idea, but right now i am perfectly content with the self replicating trees
