not sure if this has anything to do with anyone here, but I thought I'd point out another bug and see if anyone else noticed anything similar. whenever I'm playing and the background music starts to come on, it plays for a few seconds, stops, the entire game lags like hell, and then it goes back to normal with no music. anyone else notice this at all?
EDIT: After this, I managed to listen to one of the songs all the way through without glitching, but after that one it went back to its usual annoying self.

I have been going, and a music piece randomly cuts out. I don't remember if I lag or not at that point. Now, question to anyone with an answer:
What happened to the arrows with the little fans mounted on them? They made an awesome noise, and looked great in-game. Sure would like them back.

I wish there was a minus button in the corner of posts...
Mining well and digging pipe. Quarry, frame, arm, and drill bit. (Though I need to improve the frame.) Marker and Lasers. Filler (Base, on/off status, and a sprite for every behavior.) All the different forms of pipe. The Automatic crafting bench. The Builder. The Template drawing table. All the item sprites.
So I've got a bit of work left to do, but I am proud of what I've made. Some of the parts are made by grabbing pieces of terrain.png, and others are totally WD7(me) original.
The mining well. Features too bright, may redo.
The Quarry. Frame needs work.
Landmarks and lasers. (Poorly done screenshot, sorry.)
Gonna keep at it.

oh yeah the key is to use the saturation tool to desaturate the colors a bit always. also the contrast i find useful since it's all varying shades of grey :biggrin.gif: but never go strong block, there's nothing that truly black int eh game, or shouldn't be, in the textures. so the contrast can sometimes go either way.
but just work ont eh colors as you want it and then just desaturate, to help you can put it int eh terran.png pic and then adjust so it looks proper. less is more.
i like what you've got asides from that. just desaturate a bit the colors, and you got a winner. i'm working on CTM now. that shits hard.
So I was a building an escape map for this texture pack and decided to scrap it and use the wasteland mod and then rebuild it, but now its not an escape map, its a campaign map with a complete story. i just need to get actual names Orbital Industries things, what they have built, what caused the world to be how it is, how the portals to the moon blew it up, stuff like that. so if someone who knew the real story could reply to this that would be great.

I was thinking about it, tonight I'm doing a write up with the girlfriend about it. she does writing and is quite good, talking with her already she's made some good suggestions (she's the spiders voice).
Anyways, I see it as the Issac Asimov world of the future, where robots do almost all work and there is tonnes of time for leisure and science, the only real job is maintenance the robots. During the space race to the moon, they tried to make a portal to the moon, and instead turned the moon inside out so to speak. this caused alarm in other countries, and then tides began to fluctuate. food was scare, oil and coal was in fight for to survive. eventually there was a nuclear holocaust.
Some people got tot he H.I.V.E.'s, the giant underground bunkers made by Orbital Industry for the protection against fallout. 200 years later, when their ancestors emerged, they found the landscape ruined and decimated. stories of the outside world and it's destruction the only tools they had except for some technology for reforming the land.
They found a lot of the robots still on patrol all over, as they were made to last. They replaced mankind in work force, so there was a lot when it all came down.
Only the humans from the H.I.V.E. were affected by most, since they still had there identification sensors active, or were implanted with them at birth to use the technology in the H.I.V.E. the humans that survived outside were more feral, and comprised of tribes that emerged at night and lived underground in many catacombs, called 'COCOONS'.
These 'Raiders of the Night' learned how to use what water they had and grow food to survive using Hydroponic Batteries they carried around with them.
The rubble and buildings from before were almost all dead as long as the vegetation, but H.I.V.E. was equipped with Art-Tree's (Artificial Tree's) to help them repopulate earth and to give them supplies they needed to advance out of the ruble of nuclear war.
A military presences was needed and some of the survivors tried to take arms against eh tribes of raiders, and rouge robots. Others tried to explore and study what happened tot eh planet and what went wrong with the moon. They rediscovered portals to the moon, and some to the outlying rubble that was in orbit from the moon.
They discovered, that the energy released from the portal explosion did suck out the earths atmosphere onto the moons inside. Personnel and robots used int eh facility on earth to create that disastered experiment came long with it. They patrol the moon still in a zombie like trance, not knowing their masters are dead.
The rest of humanity lives by scavenging. Artifacts from the past they find, and use as tools or weapons. Whatever they can to try to rebuild a semblance of civilization the were told about as children inside the nuclear fallout shelters. Trying to rebuild what once the pinnacle of mankind.
I'll let you know if anything else. But essentially it's just the 1950's view of the future, gone wrong.
Uhh what the hell do you mean i don't read? i saw that you had posted your own idea of what could be done with the aether mod and i felt that i could give out my own ideas. as far as either of us are concerned we are just fans of the texture pack and throwing out ideas to help out the maker(s) of it. So if you don't like it then just shut the hell up because you're not the one who is the creator. i did not waste my time on this because its okay to have different views and ideas, and visuals of what things could be.
yep, I now realize that as I feel stupid and want to delete that post. You have a right to your own ideas. I was acting defensively for my own ideas, but my ideas have a fair few flaws. I looked at you post and saw that you were doing deeper detail of certain things. I did a quick overview of all. However, I would like your opinion on something. My idea had the them of an asteroid field, but yours would be of an asteroid belt, which idea do you prefer? Also, I had ideas for almost all of the blocks, but I am having trouble thinking up dungeon items. Any other ideas would be appreciated. About the not reading business, I'm sorry, but I was more just saying (in a mean way albeit) that you shouldn't waste your time coming up with ideas when someone already posted plenty. I also don't think under time pressure, I am at my grandparent right now, and while trying to get in a couple last posts, my mom was bothering me about cleaning my room, but overall I acted like a jerk. :sad.gif:

BF109Pilot: doing his best to help others in need (and I've heard say that I'm not the best in the biz)
Hey Pilot, its alright man, I just get mad if someone tells me that I have wasted my time when I know I didn't. And I have an idea for dungeons, they could be testing labs by Orbital Industries. The stones could be more of a cleaner metal plate texture and the stones that giv.e off light could be a screen of some kind, like on the back of the piston.
And Halph thanks for the background story, I have a few questions though, like:
So were orbital industries the bad guys or not?
Was living in a H.I.V.E harsh?
And was there a group of people that wanted to take down Orbital Industries?
Hey, does anyone have a randomobs compatible version of this pack? I downloaded a customized version off minecraftcustomizer.net but I was wondering if anyone had something I could add to that to make this randomobs compatible.

OI was the household brand name. they were not like Umbrella corperation, they were like every other company int eh 1950's saying they were trying to improve the future, altruistically make technology better for people more like Google. The downside of it is like Google doing something that wiped the internet, except it was the moon and sparked global nuclear war,(same thing I guess).
H.I.V.E was just like Vaults in Fallout, I assume. More or less a steel box, filled with technology for the people in it, it was slightly militant, but just filled with the same old technology that was never quite ment to be used, but was usable for a long time. Industrial looking vaults. anyways, it's the outside that was harsh, the inside was mellow compared to the raiders and psychotic robot. always saw the raiders more like the sand people in Dune, with special water machines that can grow plants stuff, in a battery way (whatever that means).
There was no people that wanted to take down orbital, no more so then Google. Just after the **** up, yeah, people were upset, and it more or less stopped, but the technology (and poster) lived on. some people remembered, hundred of years later even, and other wouldn't even know.

Working on it, it's quite a lot to do, but i just need to do the other mobs.
Something happened here in the UK, a "gangster" was shot by the police. The man opened fire on the police, in return they shot back and hit. They where doing what they are trained to do..

This is Laguna, signing off! Over to you, Last Days thread!
Wow, thanks for the work on Buildcraft! What you've done so far really looks wonderful and fits with this texture pack.
Since Buildcraft and Industrial Craft machines are both things built by players and never found in the world (and both rely on advanced items crafted by the player from rare resources), you have to strike a balance between grunge and high-tech. We're salvaging gearboxes and melting away the cheaper metal components to get at the gears themselves, but most IC devices require you to smelt the 'gears' (read: iron) again to get "refined iron". I think of that as actually smelting the gears down so I can build full-fledged machines instead of just scavenged stuff. It's fine to just have gears around for all of the vanilla stuff. For example, when I got my 'salvaged drill' it was actually an iron pickaxe I made by mining iron ore and smelting to iron ingots. But in Last Days terms you could think of it as one I salvaged in an abandoned/broken down H.I.V.E., or one I built out of salvaged parts in that manner, and that's why it's single-use instead of rechargeable like the Industrial Craft drill. On the other hand, making an IC macerator, generator, or shall we say mass fabricator requires smelting the gears down into raw iron I can shape into a solid electronic machine rather than a series of gear mechanisms. Anyway, it should look less salvaged, but remember that we're in post-apocalyptia and even things we build ourselves shouldn't look shiny, even if they're futuristic. Lack of a big enough civilization can really deal a sharp blow to metallurgical tech.
Oh, and sorry I haven't been keeping up with the thread this week. I just found a new Industrial Craft + Buildcraft server to play on. Anyone who is willing to use those mods and treat trees as aluminum scrap shacks (and wood as aluminum) is welcome to join me in building H.I.V.E. 32 there :biggrin.gif:
mc.player.to
Just use the nether portal near spawn (entrance at -136,-102) and go to the nether coordinates 61,61. Use the portal there and follow the torches north to my house. H.I.V.E. 32 hasn't been constructed yet, but check out the hole behind my house. That's where my branch mine is, and that doorway leading into a sort of 4x4 room is where I'm gonna build the piston-controlled hermetic seal :smile.gif:
Yes he calle you baby but either:
a) He was singing a song by justin bieber
:cool.gif: he just came home from work and he's **** drunk xD
:cool.gif: is the correct answer. man, i am wasted now it's 9 am on Saturday. I'm in pain, hands swollen. I'm an artist not a trade worker, BUT THE MONEY IS INSANE compared to most jobs. become a welder it's the best.
I'm so happy, that we're done teh Last Day pack. I'm gunna finisht eh CTM and the other mod's support on the customizer.
