I found a pic in the texture pack file that I'm not sure where it's used.
Its in the gui file named slot.png
If someone would be as kind as to explane it's function (of all the icons in there)
Edit: icons.png in the achievement file too
Thanks in advance
the slot.png is all the textures that are on the statistics screen. I don't think the icons.png does anything, yet
This is a GREAT pack, I think it's my new favorite. it changes my entire world into so much more.
what was originally a simple dug-out passage in stone with some glowstone and paintings suddenly becomes a sterile yet trashy bunker with fluorescent lights and everything. I keep visiting old structures of mine and seeing them in an entirely new light. Chainmail armor would be cool, but I understand how low a priority that is, and I ended up using the customizer to make it use the same texture as diamond. some of the creations in game are very well adapted, like the wheat, which I'm GUESSING is something that pulls fresh water out of the ground, as I couldn't see anything written about that sort of stuff anywhere.
I'm a bit confused as to what the default trees and sandstone are supposed to be, though. and since everything is pretty much the same color with fairly similar textures, I spend a good amount of time just mousing over blocks to see what they are, but other than that this is a great pack. oh, also, I think cobble could REALLY do with a retexturing at some point. I see what you're going for, but it just doesn't look good for large cobble structures. and mossy cobble could do to be more, well... mossy. the alternate greenish-scrap, that is. right now it's just greenish. perhaps instead of moss, you could cover your normal cobble with stray wires? bulletholes? maybe rust? I think rust would work quite nicely. I notice your biome shader is just left white. obviously you don't want luscious green grass in your landscape, but don't you think you could use the biome shader to your advantage is some other way? also, the tile pattern is nice and works well with this pack, but I just don't think it works well in the gold block or mossy cobble slots. maybe you could put it where sandstone or half-blocks are instead? I noticed you have a lot of alt. mob textures, but I just don't see a point to using them the way they are. I don't use mods, besides the HD pack fixey thingy, but does this support Randomobs? It should. you already have a bunch of textures for it. it would make sense if more than one color hug-o-tron was built on the assembly lines, or for desert raiders to not all look and dress identically.
and the chickens are adorable. I think I'll try out the sound pack just so I can hear whatever noise they make.
I've been working on the custmizer, so i'll address this, since croco is gone for the month.
As for the chainmail, I'll make it look like a broken diamond armor suit, or a leaner version of the power armor I guess.
I think I'm going to work on making more of a story and explination, and finish the names ont eh customizer to help explain stuff. History, the man prior that did Last Days, his old thread explains almost EVERYTHING. His thread is on the OP.
Sandstone is suppose to be pavment/tarmac. The bottem and sides just solid looking, but the top is used by a lot of people to make roads and such.
I've been trying to get croco to just make all the trees the same texture with just rivets, but he wants them done up that way. if you complain, he will listen.
I have huge castles and walls and I think the cobblestone looks well for them, but I don't know what else would work. I'll try a 4x4 pattern and let you know ok, I think I can do that up. also, maybe a few paintings that look like BIGGER patch working of steel, would help make it look more convincingly like it's scrap.
I agree with the rust, that new mosy cobble just came out like this week, You're right tough. The Biome shader doesn't REALLY have a place, the gras is suppose to be sand with rock, really. I'm going to make a new grass that will use biome shader, after doig up that alt pack with grass, it's really not that horrid looking you're right.
I've been trying to get rid of those tiles too, and jut have WHITE as the only tile, but I need croco's permission and he works off of feedback, so I think you're right. Although people use gold blocks for floor tiles then almost anything else: 173.164.113.210 check here and there whole introduction is to follow the golden floor. I made more tiles, and a solid block of gold too, but I'm not sure what else would work. I got diamond and iron looking good, I struggled with gold. The mossy I'll make new alts for it asap.
I made up the mob alts just like Friday, I'll look into Randomobs, and make it support it. I wanted to add a little character to each type of model, but IT'S A LOT OF ****ING WORK.
YOU HAAAAAAAAAVE to try the sound pack, you're not even playing it right WITHOUT it.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INPUT, this is what helps define what the pack end sup like. Feel free to try the custom sounds linked above, croco hasn't updated the OP, after I spent all the time to make it... I apprreciate the detailed and verbose feedback, truly is the nicest thing anyone can do :biggrin.gif:
http://www.minecraftcustomizer.net/publish.php?pack=Last Days to check out the latest default pack man, seriously new colored lava, and there's wood texture that repeats in there too. Also a super thick cloud coverage that makes it look really dirty. Also corrected the portal texture so it's slightly see through and not so opaque. New wool block look to corrolate to the colors.
But seriously, WHY DOES THE CONTROL ROOM HAVE 2 BLOCKS OF TNT IN IT!!!
the fence is pistons around that farm, interesting :biggrin.gif:

Downloading the sound pack now, while reading History's lore. I'm still a bit confused about trees though, am I missing something? are they supposed to be anything in particular?
EDIT: *starts playing the first song in the file just fer the heck of it* WOAH! THIS WILL BE WORTH IT.
well, what do people think of my signature? (DOO BA is a song that I learned in chorus, literally it's this magic moment but the lyrics are mostly just doo ba ba doo ba doo ba)

If you read through History's thread on the texture pack itself, you'll learn a bit about the lore that History never got around to typing up in one consolidated post/file. Trees are "scrap shacks" built by the mutated surface-dwellers (zombies) when they couldn't get into the cocoons. It doesn't fit with the lore in my worlds, so I replaced the tree/leaf textures with dull-coloured textures from Doku/Faithful packs respectively.

I listened to all the sound files before downloading them, and I noticed that the maker of the Sound Enabler Mod hasn't updated it for 1.7, so I didn't switch yet. :sad.gif: SO I didn't replace any files yet. I guess I have to wait. durn. would the 1.6.6 version of the mod perhaps work with 1.7 anyway?

I love this texture pack, since it so perfectly captures a generic view of a post-apocalyptic world...!
Its now on my short-list of Favorite Texture Packs...
:cool.gif:
Edit:
BTW, Croco15 .... I was wondering if you could include texture-support of the Scaffold Mod listed in my signature? Its a fairly new but extremely useful building-assistance Mod. It lets you build temporary blocks that chain-reaction collapse when hit with the tool included in the Mod. Given its industrial look, it could easily fit in with your texture pack's theme of ruined, collapse earth....
Oh my... how have I been living without these scaffolds for so long? D:
Yes, a modified texture for those would be amazing. A little dirt, a little rust, and a liberal amount of bent metal support beam would make them fit right in with Last Days architecture.
Okay, I'm now caught up on all 9 (?) pages of Doku's original thread, all 105 (!) pages of History's thread, and all 26 pages of this one.
I first got this pack right about when you released it for 1.6, but haven't looked back since. I really like the direction this has gone with terrain/items, with one major exception: Food becoming water/medicine/whatever. I don't play without hunger/thirst mods, and it's totally screwy to use water purifiers and drugs to refill my hunger. :s I think it would be better to keep the food items as some sort of... food!
I must admit, the scrap shacks are growing on me a little bit, but I still prefer to alter the textures myself to use Doku's dark for trunks and Faithful leaves. My biome/foliage colours are washed out (brightness +50%) versions of the ones from Faithful, and I still get a little green while keeping that dull, unhealthy look. Savannas in particular look very desolate. I don't mind the trees everywhere; I just chop them down and don't replant :smile.gif:
I also ended up replacing the default stone texture, because my main world has a very large, epic canyon rivaling the gargamel seed. Seeing giant cliffs made of cocoon walls everywhere, then exploring various 'cocoons' and seeing dirt/gravel all over in the walls just doesn't feel right. I use a standard stone texture and just imagine the cocoons as man-made tunnels hewn into the earth. While once very smooth and orderly, the ravages of nuclear war and time have collapsed most of it, but you can still find a large elliptical room here and there. This makes more sense to me than people building massive iron-shelled caverns while fleeing from nuclear war.
Who you replying to, exactly? Your post seems condescending (and in some places outright hostile), but I haven't seen any negative or hostile posts here within the last few pages. Did I miss a post somewhere?
...More re: texture alterations, I've been messing with foliagecolor.png in an attempt to make scrap shacks have a little biome variation (not as in traditional leaf colours, but in terms of colours that define varying amount of rust/acid erosion). Any suggestions for how I should tweak it to look better? I'm playing around with hue/saturation atm with the vanilla foliagecolor.png, but there's still too much 'tree' in the colour unless I radically alter it. Maybe I should start with looking at how aluminum looks when tarnished :s
The alt textures are definitely very helpful. One of the stone textures doesn't look so obviously tiled from far away, but still gives that 'cocoon wall' look from up close. With a bit of tweaking, I think I can make the cliffs look a lot less artificial without losing that nice look inside the caves. Choices between which styles for tools are amazing (I really like the spear-shaped primitive pickaxes), but I wish you had put the old-style bowgun in as an alternate bow texture. The harpoon gun looks nice, but I've always been a fan of bowguns thanks to Chrono Trigger :biggrin.gif:
In my quest to add/recommend interesting alternate textures, I'm looking at options for tall grass/seeds/crops/wheat/bread right after I mess around with signs. Someone posted a sign-as-terminal a while ago in this thread, and it doesn't really work in-game due to being smaller than the text boundaries and being too clean-looking. I'm hoping to draw something that overcomes both of those limitations :ohmy.gif:
