I'd love to see one of the Orbital ad paintings graffitied over with something like LIES or THEY LIED or F**K CORPORATIONS or something. Maybe the anarchy logo--I just want a graffitied Orbital ad.
The iron is gears right? Maybe the iron tools could reflect this, and the iron sword could be a grinder, two gears on an iron rod, and you attack mobs by grinding them between gears. Brutal.
I gotta say, I *really* prefer Halphprice's garbage gravel to the loose stones. It makes sense in the places you find gravel most often: Underground, as beaches, and in random-looking piles in caves and under floating mountains. So you've got trash piles in the ruins, on the shores washed up from corporate pollution, and in random large piles.
Oh, as for the different colored wool: Please, please keep the colors approximately the same. So the yellow one would match the yellow wool, the green one would be for green wool, but for every single color. I just really want pixel art to make most of the sense it did before. Red could be a tangled mess of wire, since red rubber is used for a lot of wire coating so redstone would fit with that.
On a related note, the lapis block and blue wool could be a computer display with blue text---or maybe even showing the blue screen of death! That would be funny.
I also really like the way the spider sounds like it's a female voice that's... cough... friendly. Soooo creepy.
What is HIVE?

Just downloaded the 1.7 sound pack... And it's missing sounds for pistons! It's also weirdly arranged, with a "mods" folder that's at least partially empty.

I'm having to crash out now, after an all-nighter, but just had to pass a quick comment of "absolutely excellent" on your piston especially (really love it), and what you've been doing here with Last Days.
Have a great weekend, mate.
Thanks Glimmar! And you really should get some rest! I don't think I could ever pull off an all-nighter. I need my beauty sleep!
just how the terrain file looks, loved croco's piston, but used a turned piece of wood. also made the wood loop flawlessly in this pack. I'm going to post a bunch of pictures later of some last day art. As well as some new trees, a few changed textures, and no wool, all machine stuff. glowing mushrooms and garbage as flowers. I would love it if you guys could try it out and tell me what you like about the pack, compared to the original one.
again, lemme know what you think. I've gone through almost everything possible.
I'll have to go test this out! I would like to hear what people have to say about this too so that I could figure out what I should try fixing/adding and what textures people prefer.
------------------
And here are the new wooden tools! Along with the new bone. Which is now a satchel/knapsack sort of thing.
EDIT: Just realized I missed a few comments, sorry! I did read them though!
All right, someone mentioned survivor's logs, which I thought was a great idea, and you said you'd need scripts, so here are two, for gold and green records respectively:
Survivor's log, date unknown. (deep sigh) We lost Carter today. Damn raiders got him. We must have stumbled into their base while looking for more gearboxes. Those things just kept coming. I found some tins of food in the raiders' base after we lit the place up. We needed it badly. It's just me and Ramos now in this place. (another deep breath and a short pause) I don't know if anyone is going to find this recording. I don't even know why I'm making them. But if you're out there and you're listening--Survive! You have to, no matter what the cost. You have to keep going! Build up civilization from these irradiated ashes. Because if you don't... If you don't... (another pause) This is Rothberg, signing out.
I AM HUGGATRON. I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND! I JUST WANT TO HUG! (pause) WHERE ARE MY ARMS? I NEED ARMS! HUGGATRON NEED ARMS! HUGGATRON NEED ARMS TO HUG! HUGGATRON.... GRAAAAH! HUG... HUG... HUG... HUAAAH(sound of explosion overlaps final HUAAH)
The first one references finding a skeleton dungeon with an apple in one of the chests, in case you couldn't tell.

Make the shears a magnet for pulling off metal from robosheep!
The problem with that is that the shears have to make sense for both sheep and leaves, which is why I like what Croco came up with better than magnets or the like.
Speaking of which, I'm building a treehouse since I spawned right next to a rainforest biome, so I really like being able to place leaf blocks now. I remember a comment way back in this thread about the leaf texture, saying it doesn't make sense now because it was created back when they were a placeable block. Well, now they're a placeable block again! I agree that it's an issue that they're the same texture as the planks, but that to me says the planks should be changed, not the leaf blocks.

Nice! I really like the first one and thought the second one was hilarious! The first one could also reference finding a bowl or soup too, since those are tins too.

Okay, just took a bit of a look inside the .zip... Croco, have you not finished the slime yet, or did you forget to put its .png in?
Thanks timestamp. The magnet idea isn't half bad either, but I always try to keep the whole RP thing in mind when I make stuff, and I personally think that pliers/wire-cutters have more uses then magnets in RPing.
I agree about the leaves, but with the wood HalphPrice edited, the leaves could look like weak and patchy wood while actual wood planks would look strong and more uniform.
And I have no idea what happened to the slime. It just disappeared on me! If anyone has an older version that has the slime.png in it. Please post it! I can always make another just like it, but it would be easier if I didn't have to.
what's the point in an updated sound pack but no enabler, and, with the texture pack, what's the point of the compass and the clock?
Well, we can't do anything about the sound enabler, the maker of that has to update it. And I'm not sure I get your second question. The point of the compass is to show your direction and the clock shows the time.

Admittedly it doesn't make sense on leaves. But currently they're just shears! Old shears!

They actually aren't shears, they are wire-cutters/pliers. The reason I chose that over magnets is because: I feel that it makes more sense, they can be used for a much wider range of RPing, and they just look nicer/feel less cartoony then magnets.

I like to throw that anarchy sign around, just to show more then just the survivor and military that most people want. sort of a throw to borderlands I guess, since most people see this as just a fallout mod. Opens the borders up more.
I tried sorting the cloth into colors to the textures best I could an also getting rid of all the cloth too.
just finding the lupis now in single player, since the server i was on was ig and all pre-lapis, and I can't say I like it's texture block much either, it's too much like the coal. the solid lapis block maybe better for finding, and the solid one a blue screen of death thing is a great idea.
So the spider is my girlfriend :wink.gif: she did them so natural to how she normally talks... it was history that wanted it that way, he had HUGE things the spider was going to say, but I found it wasn't functional. I cut it down to one words in the cheery way he INTENDED it to be said, and just translated what I though the orignial spider was saying with his chitters.
female spider goes back to hon/dota for me...
H.I.V.E is like a vault or a survival base/city or maybe the capital city for Orbital Industries, who knows, but they are part of the survivors world int he new wasteland, through relics alone.
