It's commonly accepted that you do not film or take screen shots during the night, especially if it's for a texture pack.

I imagine he just changed it so all the biome hues are the same.

delete it, done.

A couple things you should work on:
Iron, Gold, and diamond block alpha textures
Furnace alpha texture

Also, I don't think it's possible, but could you make the title screen similar to the old one? With the old logo and such. Just a bonus if you feel like it.
