After looking at some of the more cartoony texture packs, I am finding myself heavily inspired to make a Monochrome TP based off of Black and White cartoons. I plan to be basing it off of (not editing, or using, but taking inspiration from) FRENDEN and FRENDEN-like TPs.

So, some questions:
What makes a Black and White TP Bad?
What would you like to see in a Black and White TP?
Should I make use of greys?
What makes a Cartoon Pack Bad?
What would you like to see in a Cartoon Pack?
Resolution. Should I go with the base 16x, or something higher?
Releases. All at once, or release bits of it as I complete it?
Should I release one TP, or variations upon it?

And, most importantly:

Has this been done before? And if so, has it been done well? If not, why?

It has been done before, and I'm sorry, but no it did not work well. I think it would be interesting if you could apply film grain with rain and snow... Maybe if you could make the rarest items colored too, but one major thing, minecraft is heavily color coded, lapis;daimond, gold;iron, plus the tools are simply recolored picks at default, I wish you good luck, maybe this can be done.
