This shall be my second texture pack, and it is currently a work in progress, and I shall release when it is finished or when it is very close to finished. :biggrin.gif:
I made this pack because... Well, to be honest, I have no idea why! The simple idea for these type of texture just popped into my head one day, and just sat there.. So, I decided to make it. I was going to originally name it Tile Craft, but that seemed overused.
Don't assume it's one of those border/simple/tile packs.. because.. I mean, it CAN be, but it's a more "in-depth" (pun) pack, that is based off of BOTH gradience and the illusion that the textures were bump-mapped.
I'll shut up and show you a screenshot or two:
Note: The textures that clearly don't match the pack are the ones from my previous pack.. in my sig. Also, if this WAS made before, I apologize. I had this neato idea to create a pack that's common, but do so in a way that brings out the artistic side of them.
And the landscape.. trees, flatgrass, water..
Wooden Door, wooden planks:
Tell me what you think. :biggrin.gif: What you don't see in here is the iron door and planks, which I updated, but forgot to "accept" the update in WinRAR before going into Minecraft.. I'll get that up soon.
Edit: Added Wooden Door pic
In Addition: The doors may probably be the only thing with something non-corresponding to the pack, which would be handles.. Because right now the door looks somewhat off.. :ohmy.gif:
Oh, you like the water? :biggrin.gif:
I WAS thinking of changing it, maybe give it a little more.. liquid like features, but if someone likes it, Okay. :biggrin.gif:
these are static pictures, so i can't tell if it flows well or not. seeing it like this though, i like it.
IMO, the flow looks SORTOF awkward, because the lines don't connect properly when flowing in unusual diagonal directions.. I will, though, be making static water flow, kinda like a soft river..
Any ideas on what to do with the doors? I dislike them. :ohmy.gif:
Well, maybe add small little circular handles to them (the pictures can't be seen, so otherwise i would get this so people could help ya easier). Maybe for the iron doors make them kinda like a vault's door (the doors with the big rotating lock) as that would be neat, in my opinion, I like textures that are 64x and below, cause I like them to be KINDA realistic but not too far away from MineCraft's blocky feel. Glad your doing this though, I would like a texture link (ZippyShare please?) so I could help ya test it out.
Oh and could you maybe include alternate textures for certain things that other people might like (like somewhat stained glass, doors with windows, that sorta thing)
If I can get this I can see how it looks with one of my worlds (Windmill Village, case you didn't know) and maybe promote this pack if it looks good.
Downloaded and ready to Beta-Test this for you HAL! Are you GLaDOS's cousin? :laugh.gif:
im testing this right now, and personally i have a few complaints (minor, not bad)
1-Netherrack's a tad too blocky, maybe a little less alteration of colors? Like just swirly red?
2-What is up with the obsidian? I can't tell if it's obsidian or purple wool.....
3-Wooden Doors should (personally) be darker color and a little less blocky
4-Waters personally VERY griddy, I would maybe have a little more realistic water there
5-Grass isn't very grassy, maybe more...um....green on top? or green all around?
6-Bricks are awfully pink-maybe a little darker
7-Everything's just too griddy-a 64x pack usually isn't THIS griddy.
8-it makes Minecraft think that im logged in from another location, and plus I can't tell the difference between the Diamond and Lapis ores, again really blocky-just not very nice feel to it.
