Something that I don't like that alot of texture pack creators do is take screenshots from a distance for their pack. One or two at the most are fine to show the atmosphere the pack gives, but try to have most of them show the actual textures. Sure, that's a cool valley, but we can't see the textures! Use screenshots that show the textures themselves and I'd be more inclined to download your pack. This actually shows the textures instead of that cool ship you built.
In my opinion, a texture pack should show as many pictures of the textures in nature as possible, a picture or two from a distance to get the atmosphere, and some of a house or something similar to show what houses and such would look like in use. A good example is kabonos's KabPack
Thank you for reading.
I'm not entirely sure what qualifies as a long distance, but textures need to interact with each other too. That's why I've never been too enthusiastic about using the maps that compress every block possible into one screenshot.

Yeah, those never really give me a feel of whether or not it's a good pack. Same with just posting the terrain/items.

I love screenshots that show how the textures look in nature, but I mean when they show whole cities, valleys, giant statues, etc. that focus on the creation instead of the textures.

I think people focus too much on long distance nature shots when taking screenshots, so they'll end up showing us some awesome sunset or mountain from far away which doesn't really show the true nature of the textures.

But I do agree in that many post exclusively distant shots, and it's hard to get an idea of the quality from that angle.
Good point. But I've seen many packs that just show a bunch of buildings from miles away.

Curse PremiumAh, ok. Behold, Minecraft!!!
Then I'm good in your book? :wink.gif:
Looking at your pictures, yours is a great example of what screenshots should contain.
EDIT: And is now my thread's example. ;D
