Yeah, yeah. I've been uber-busy with the start of the new school year. I had a little time this weekend to do some of the old updates and suggestions you guys had. I tried to do most, but probably forgot some. Give it a test run and let me know. Remember some of the textures are still old placeholders.
Thanks, and positive critiques are always appreciated. Sorry for the delay.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend using the Water Shader MOD. It basically makes the water in Minecraft look, well, like water. Brilliant work.
Very awesome! Looking forward to Realistico's update! I love this pack, it's definitely my favorite texture pack so far and I'm really picky and tend to change packs every week. Since I found this one though, I've stuck with it. Till 1.8 anyhow. :tongue.gif: Playing with defaults for now!
Updated this for 1.8.1 mostly. Got some placeholders from Basico, but not many. Let me know. Changed some stuff around, think some are better. Any positive critiques are gladly welcome and appreciated.
Besides the major things (chest textures, animated water and lava, etc.), I don't have many suggstions.
I have a lot of trouble telling the difference between stone, cobblestone, and gravel in the inventory. Maybe the textures (or at least gravel) are a little too similar.
I would add some details to the workbench to make it seem a little bit more like a workbench. Or maybe just on the sides so you can still use the top as a cool decorative flooring.
As for the lava, I'm not sure if it's because it's not animated or because the color is rather subdued over most, I can't tell you how many lava pools I have almost walked right into. I think it needs to be brighter.
My favorite textures are the sand and iron block. The sand is perfect, a very saturated color while still looking like sand. The iron block is just cool, and very unique.
The cheese is a lie.
Edit: Crap, I mixed up the workbench top and the chest top in my head. I really love the chest top, shame the new chests don't fit in well with other blocks. Maybe use that texture on the top of the workbench? Or would that be too confusing?
Spruu, I'm working on the animated chests. Having to resize and redit the old chest textures blows. The issue with similarity when holding I see too, will see if I can do anything. I like the workbench, but I'll try finding some different top texture. Maybe a doily or something.
This is and always will be my favorite texture pack. I've been using another since 1.2 came out and it's just not the same!
Looking forward to your update for 1.2 - keep up this amazing texture pack, I'm so fussy about textures and I just can't keep them for long. Basico and this one are just awesome.
