Absolutely amazing work, I can't wait to try it, even if I only have a tiny piece (even just the trees, stone, and grass for now will satisfy me). My only concern is how dark it looks. I'm not sure if its your setup or the textures themselves, but it looks alot darker than usual, and the torches don't seem to change the lighting much. If it is the textures, maybe you could lighten them up a bit? Of course, it could just be my eyes XD. In any case, such a beautiful
Notice: That is a very pre-alpha version of RealÃstico, with many placeholder textures from Básico. It is meant to be used as a test, for people to comment on textures, find issues, make suggestions, etc. It is by NO means complete or ready-for-use. Suggestions at this stage are highly recommended and appreciated. If you don't like it, delete it and don't post useless dribble.
Also, I do not give permission for my textures to be used for any public remix compilations. Keep them to yourself if you want to use any.
P.S. I have more grass and leaf textures to try out, but those are the ones I've most enjoyed so far.
Love it. You really nailed the netherrack. Well done. The torches, glowstone, and cobble are excellent. However, the lava moves way too slow, and I'm not sure how I feel about the water, but over all a great start. Keep up the hard work.
Omg, worst alpha-testers ever. Only one person has given comments on it so far. I wanna know what people think, what to fix, what needs changing, what's awesome (if anything), etc. Would be greatly appreciated.
Edit:
After running around and playing for quite a while I was fairly impressed.
There were a few things that I didn't quite understand/like.
-The smoothstone is the same texture as the slabs. I'm not sure if this was intended or is incomplete.
-The curved rail texure looked a bit odd to me. It may have something to do with those awkward boards on the outer edge.
Things I really liked:
-Wooden door! Absolutely beautiful door.
-Ores are phenomenal. I really love the glow you put into the diamond ore. Maybe add that to the redstone?
-Water looks amazing! If we could find a way to animated it flawlessly, I think that I would even use it. =)
Keep at it Adriorn. It's really a breath of fresh air with a simple yet realistic pack such as this.

Slabs are incomplete. I just put the stone texture on top of them. They had some Mayan designs on them before, but I nixed them. To be finished

Thanks alot man, means alot. I'll screw around with the redstone and see, good point. But thanks, critique is always something I want, as long as it's done constructively, like you just did. Thanks.
This is a long list, so I just want to say that overall I really do like the pack a lot. I tend to shy away from "realistic" packs, but this one really has some potential.
Favorite parts:
I logged in and it was night time, walked out my door and the first thing I noticed was one of my glowstone lamps which looked freaking amazing. Loving that texture.
The chests are magnificent, don't change them one bit.
I really like the sides of grass blocks. The shading is very well done. Definitely looks like damp soil.
Netherrack is gorgeous.
Obsidian is very cool, really looks solid.
Preference related:
The sand and sandstone textures are both very cool. They contrast more than I'm used to, but I probably just need to change the way I use them a bit. I'm not 100% satisfied with the sandstone having completely separate textures on the top vs sides. Maybe have a border on the upper part of the side that mirrors the top's texture?
The door looks great, but I think the window in it could be a bit bigger. Would it be too cramped vertically if it was expanded so that it covered 2 more planks horizontally?
I'm not a fan of the workbench top just being the inside of a log. Maybe if you drew some tools on top of it, but not just plain.
I'm generally not a fan of glass textures that cover most of the window, but I realize that's just my preference.
I'd also like the stone to be a bit smoother looking.
The signs are a little dark. They're still legible, but could add a bit more contrast with text to make it easier.
Soul Sand looks too much like a smooth dirt texture.
I would add something connecting the rungs of the ladder
I would use a higher resolution sun and moon texture, they look too pixelated for a 128 pack.
Things I really think should be looked at again:
I have mixed feelings on the cobblestone. I know why you made it so close to the moss stone, so the moss stone could just be a subtle detail when used. The cobblestone just doesn't particularly look like a cobblestone texture though being so greenish.
My biggest complaint is the lava. I was never a fan of Basico's lava texture, kind of looked like spaghetti sauce, lol. I'm not sure if this is the same one (haven't used Basico in awhile), but it's similar, at least the moving lava. The still lava looks cool up close. From a distance they both really take a hit from the lack of texture filtering, just take a look at the sea in the Nether. :sad.gif:
Maybe it's just me, but indoors feels very dark. I took the terrain.png into GIMP and turned the brightness up. It did lose a bit of the feel to the pack but the indoors felt better. Maybe the main construction materials (stone and wood at least) could be made a bit brighter? Then again, maybe I just have my monitor's brightness too low. :tongue.gif:
I'm really enjoying the screenshots I'm seeing, you're doing a great job on this texture pack. I can't wait for it to be completed. Dling the Pre Alpha now. :cool.gif:
I honestly CANNOT wait for the finished version. By far one of the most gorgeous texture packs I have seen EVER. You've done amazing work, and I'm very impressed by the detail and realism of the textures. Brilliant job!

Don't worry about them too much, mostly placeholders from Basico I think. They need work, agreed. And I like the border idea too, like the Basico forges.

Yeah, I'm not set with the current top either. I was gonna do something different at first, and I think I might try that now and see. As for the tools, I've never been a fan of doing them on textures, but that's my taste.
I'm generally not a fan of glass textures that cover most of the window, but I realize that's just my preference.
I'd also like the stone to be a bit smoother looking.
Yeah, both are preferences. And I actually agree about the glass, I like em totally see-through. But I thought those came out so damn nice...we'll see. Hey, I love smoothstone, just look at Basico. I tried doing a little in between here.
I have mixed feelings on the cobblestone. I know why you made it so close to the moss stone, so the moss stone could just be a subtle detail when used. The cobblestone just doesn't particularly look like a cobblestone texture though being so greenish.
Hmm. I hadn't thought the cobblestone was greenish, I'll check it out. I'm still playing with the moss btw. meh, don't like it too much yet. I really like the cobble though, but I'll check out the coloring.
My biggest complaint is the lava. I was never a fan of Basico's lava texture, kind of looked like spaghetti sauce, lol. I'm not sure if this is the same one (haven't used Basico in awhile), but it's similar, at least the moving lava. The still lava looks cool up close. The still lava is new, the moving one is still Basico. I can't figure out how the frak to do animated water/lava, so I just used that as a placeholder for now. There are two textures I hate, hate doing: leaves, and lava. And yes, the lack of filtering or whatnot hurts. It doesn't look as bad if you use the Advanced OpenGL setting (which I do), and it gives the textures a nice aliasing and mipmapping.

No, it's me too. The difference between indoors Basico and here is big. I didn't want to touch stone because it gives caves a nice dark feel, but maybe increase the brightness on cobblestone? Wood too for that matter maybe, I just like the darker, mahogany woods. I'll check it out too. But you're right though, it does feel like it's TOO dark.
Thanks alot btw Spruu, good constructive criticism.
Hmm, no. Very good point, will try.
Nether
Lightstone?
Furnace?
Scuttles, I tried the shading on the trees; I only did a little to see how it looked:
kinda ruins minecrafts art style but looks... so... good...
This is one of the best packs that I have ever seen! Please finish this!
Added some new screenshots in the OP. And...

hehe that's the Basico rail. I only did the straight rail so far. The curved ones are a pain in the butt.

Basico placeholder :smile.gif:
Will check it out. At first it was a complete ladder, but I really didn't like how it looked. I'll play around.
