Just going to cut straight to the chase here - this is a pack I've been poking around on for a few weeks now, and figured I'd put it up to share. It's not stellar, but I like it, so I use it. :smile.gif:
My main inspiration for this was the "Metroid" series of games (of note, the first and third). I was aiming for an alien world/machine hybrid feel, and think I did alright for that.
So, what I ended up with was metal blocks. A lot of them. Smooth stone? Metal block. All the ores? Stuck in metal blocks. Cobble? Just an intricate metal block.
Yep, even block furniture.
I am particularly fond of the redstone, though. :happy.gif:
Yea, not the best 16x pack in the world, and not done quite yet. Seems like I'm always stopping mid-game to go tweak some tile or other I suddenly became unhappy with. Still, if you like it, great. If not, great. Hate it? That's fine too!
Textures in this pack can be used for whatever. While I'd like credit for any that are borrowed, I'm not going to go out of my way to seek it. I'm not putting up any means to donate, because I don't want donations - I want to share this pack.
I welcome anyone who has more scenic landscape/buildings to do nicer screenshots, assuming it looks alright. There are many folks in this community who have a much better gift for building than I do. :biggrin.gif:
I like the texture pack Sacheverell, it gives a new twist on Minecraft and I'm always looking for new interesting texture packs to spice up Minecraft. Keep up the good work.
awesome, I always looked for a metroid-style texturepack! There was one, but it was really simple and not consistent at all, not like yours, just like natek said. Just two things:
1. the pine trees could be some kind of antenna, because they are so tall.
2. MOOORE TUUUUUUUBES
Personally hate the idea of this pack, but I cannot argue with the look of it. Looks very well done. I am personally just not a fan of SCI-Fi packs in games like this. Still looks pretty awesome though :smile.gif:

Retired StaffHere's an updated terrain.png. Reduced/altered colors on some blocks, altered some sprites for better blending.
Notable alterations:
Smooth stone - blends better, less "noisy".
Furnace, Dispenser - Shifted color a bit, reduced saturation a lot. Blends with other textures better now.
Pumpkin - Not quite so green.
I plan to alter the red and yellow flowers heavily in the coming days, and do a less jarring pine sapling.
