while it isn't done(About 1 month of work so far)Its for testing so I can get more feedback and improve! So please post your thoughts about it here or at the other post for the most part I just leave posts with what I do each day on the texture pack(kinda like a texture pack twitter Lol)
Anyways please leave feedback and tell me what you think!
Texture pack images.
I also am in need of a banner please pm me if you can make me one your name will be put in the credits if you do so!
I use Photoshop, so I can't answer the first question, but as for the second:
I began work on my texture pack in January of this year. There was some downtime in there, but much time was spent making minor improvements to Clearcraft. It really all depends on how far you want to take it, though.
Here is a great tip. Let me test it out for you when you are done and I will tell you what to improve on. Okay, I'm not an expert. I just want a texture pack :sad.gif:
Hey,thanks in advance for taking your time to read this thread.
Anyways to the point. I'm going to be making a texture pack soon for minecraft but I have a few problems.
1. Now I already consider myself not that great an artist, I'm going to be using GIMP for this btw but still if anybody has any tips to making things look smother or really any tips about gimp would be helpful!
2. How long do you think it would take me? I'm doing a normal 16x16 texture pack. any feedback is nice.
And I think that's really it for now!
Thanks for your help. I'll be making the texture pack link on another topic latter on when I finish it.
Peace!
I strongly suggest PMing creative_one, he uses gimp (you can see his work in the link of my signature for reference)he works in 64, but i'm sure he'd have some good tips for you!
2. Depending on what you're looking for and how much free time you have, it really depends. 16 by 16 shouldnt take too long. I suggest not posting your texture pack 50% done, aim for at least 75%, personally I find that more professional (as professional as you can get on minecraft i guess :tongue.gif:) and people can actually use it while they wait for you to continue updating.
I help out on texture packs and something that is significant is that if you want it to be a quality tp, always keep updating, find new ways to make your texture pack unique. It shows you're putting effort ;p

Time to try and actually make something.
Going to start on the sun-moon I think sounds like the easy ones.

I'll see If I can give it to you when I finish it.
Just I'll have to see if I can remember by the time I get to releasing it lol.
At the moment he's actually asleep (he lives in the NL) but knowing him, he'll respond quickly. And hey, if you need another tester I'm offering my services :'p good luck

kk thanks for all the help!
I'm more inspired now to work without getting lazy (Typical teenage habits lol.)
Thanks for the help!
When I'm done I'll have you in my honorable mentions for the texture pack!
Haha! I know exactly what you mean! *has those :x*
Anytime and that isn't necessary! It's your work after all ^^
Thanks again!
Also do you know any custom maps that I can use to test the textures on my pack?
Btw I just finished the Sun texture it looks a bit weird not quite done yet but I'll be making it the correct colours and such.
I actually kinda like it reminds me of well. idk some strange floating glowing ball thing?.
I really have no idea what it is lol.
But yeah I think I kinda like it. I'll post a picture latter on.
Ps. this topic is going to get a bit off topic. Should I make another one as like an update log or something? Cuz I really enjoy the feedback while im working.
THIS. When I first started my pack, each block used the noise filter. Looking back, it was awful. I soon decided to redo the textures. It looks WAAAY better now. =P
Thanks again!

Thanks again to everybody!
I'm actually making a custom map using different style buildings to show how a tp i'm working on is really versatile. I can share it with you when i'm done if you want.
I suggest keeping the sun as simple as possible, you can't stare at it and see detail in real-life after all :tongue.gif:
you may consider making a new thread, OR just change the name of this one. (less forum spam :tongue.gif:)

About the sun well I can see the sun getting to be a pest after a while if it has to much stuff on it.
But then again I wasn't ever saying I was going for realism Xd.
And I'll just change the topic name to my texture pack In progress(Update log) or something like that. Less forum spam FTW :biggrin.gif:

o.o' oh you're right...(about realism) srry, i've been too engrossed in creative_one's texture pack I guess x'D

Lol yeah its ok. We've all had those moments I'm sure one time or another!
What is the theme of your texture pack anyway? (if you have one :tongue.gif:)
Oh and the map is very large scale (the building I'm working on now is 95 by 64) it may not actually eb what you're looking for. If you're looking for something that is more realistic that you'd use when actually playing minecraft, I may point you in another direction :tongue.gif:

A mistake like that is part of the learning experience :tongue.gif: Taking shortcuts usually won't be better in the long run.
I really love the MC forums community always helping as to the trolls I've seen on some forums Lol.
Wish me luck!
