Yes, thats the wear and tear the ladder needed. Hands are greasy, boots and bare feet carry mud and dust everywhere, and and "sailors of fortune" were a pretty grubby bunch...
To be fair though, wooden ladders are fiddly swine to polish, and a set of freshly waxed ladder rungs strikes me as an accident waiting to happen...
I was wondering, after looking at the furnace, if the iron block would be rusty as well? The brass lamp has the right tone for a gold block. Maybe the same indented edged as the sandstone, but with a line of rivets down the edges (Greenish copper rivets in the gold block for contrast? Black or rusty rivets for the iron block?).
Edit: looks at nifty arched window in cobble wall pic. Wow! It looks so ominous, I half expected to glimpse surly convicts behind the windows...
I like the effect of a ornate iron railing it gives as a repeating pattern. Plus the cobble looks good in combination, gives it that old but sturdy feel.
And yes, the other window was perhaps not quite right in comparison with the rest of them, but the arched one really fits.
This just gets better every day, thank you for the tidy mod package too!
ozBillo, the whole tone/atmosphere of the growing collection of textures is coming along beautifully!
My absolutely favourite texture is now your furnace...so jealous of it! :dry.gif: Lol!
Thanks, Glimmar :smile.gif:
When I saw the airship in your post it inspired me to try and make a 64x texture for it.
I've done a first attempt at the balloon bit. Check it out here.
This just gets better and better every day! It's impressive to see how fast you've been working, how readily you can modify a texture to suit feedback, and how often you intorduce something new. You definitely have a talent for this.

It would be awesome if I could make an income doing this. It's been great fun working on these textures, but, I've been neglecting my RL work the last couple of weeks. I have to find a balance there, somehow. And, I probably should sleep a bit more regularly, too

Well, you could start with a donate button. :biggrin.gif:
And if this makes it to an entire pack, I would be more than happy to go through and adf.ly link for it.
And as DarkMother said, “ask and ye shall receive!”

Thanks for the input, WolfKit. I think it's too soon to be asking for donations but I'll keep it in mind for down the track :smile.gif:
I've added some more textures and changed the texture layout.
New stuff...
- wood (oak, pine/spruce, birch)
- dirt, grass, snow
- stone slab
Also, tweaked the ladder a little to suit the other stuff better.
I've put the main textures in a normal terrain file layout.
The alternates are in a separate file.
Please let me know if I've messed anything up in the process.
(Edit) I messed up the sandstone slab top :\
I'll fix that shortly.
(Edit) Fixed!
I think it would fit better with a darker dirt. And I usually prefer more shadows under the grass. But other than that it's looking good! I really like the wood
Awesome seems so overused in teh internetz, but those logs are well, dammit, Awesome with a capital A!
The birch could be a little bit lighter on the top and bottom surfaces, the standard log is great looking cabin building timber as is.
I don't know about darker soil. Maybe a little more red, then darker, or it would just look odd next to the other textures.
Might want to think about wild grass on top of the grass surface before adding any further shadows, but it looks fine to me.
Ferns too, though I have yet to see one for myself in MC, still hunting for the seasonal forest biome they allegedly grow in...
Sorry I didn't post earlier, search on MCF currently down, so took a while track down thread.
I agree on the dirt - it could use a little something for greater authenticity.
The logs look nice - I think there might be a little too much noise in the bark on the regular log though.
And I'm very glad for the sandstone top! I had pasted the side texture into my mix and I love it, but I needed a top! :smile.gif:

Thanks for the encouragement, Marken4.
The humble dirt block was the hardest texture, so far. It took many attempts before I made one I was reasonably happy with. I was starting to see dirt blocks in my sleep :smile.gif:
But, I will tweak it some more along the way.

I think there is only the one log top texture.
The soil does need a little tweaking.
Do you mean the 6 wild grass textures?

And I'll have a look at the bark noise thing.
Glad you like the sandstone top! But I think that needs a revisit, too. The edges look a little slapdash, to me.
Oh yeah! I really like the dirt now.
The reeds are good, but perhaps there's some way to shade the edges to show some depth?
It's one of those tricky textures to give the illusion of three dimensions to.

I'm glad you like the dirt, HeadHunter. I can sleep peacefully, now :smile.gif:
Reeds will get some attention tomorrow.
