However, I'm having problems with the Connected textures not working for the stone background texture. I basically used the Stone texture for the background texture then made a new layer (using Gimp) and imported a new texture then anchored it down to make a new texture.
So, how do I make it so the stone connected textures work alongside all the textures you have done.
...
The way I've done the connected textures for all the minecraft ores is very memory hungry.
They all use 255 tiles each.
I started running into memory problems when I started doing mod ores the same way.
I'd rather that Battered users didn't have to worry about tweaking memory settings to run the pack.
Ideally, I'd use MCPatcher's renderpass option to overlay the ores onto the standard stone textures.
Unfortunately, this makes the ores invisible if they are under water.
Also, particle effects render behind the ore overlay which looks weird.
I don't know if there is a way around this.
Here's the IC2 textures I'm using at the moment. They need a little tweaking.
They don't tile perfectly with the stone textures, either. But, it's bearable.
Try them out and see what you reckon.
Test this stone texture and switch yours to cobblestone.
Gives more congruence to your pack - I have tested more than 50 different textures (to replace your original and use it as cobblestone), and doubtless this is a perfect match.
The rights are of maxTextures and its free to use.I upload the CTM folder to http://www.mediafire...296er3oedd6w9ao

No thanks, _Gothmog. I know you put a lot of effort into testing this but I want to keep this pack all my own work.
(edit) But, cobblestone is still on my list for a remake at some point.

Let then as an idea, because your texture for stone its the best and more realistic cobblestone I found. A stone texture less fragmented - i believe - make caves more realistic and all the textures sound better (I like the mossy and dirt aspect of that i linked before, especially the way it "connects" with your stone texture).
Is there a problem with the 1.5.2 coal textures? They don't seem to show up - I looked in the zip file and there are only 4 png files and 1 properties file, yet all the other CTM folders have loads of files. Is that a mistake or is there something I need to do?
Keep the good work up!
Thanks again!
Ooops! Sorry about that. I'll upload a fix later today.
im not real tech savvy when it comes to the files and what not of the ores and all that but jimmy mentioned coal not showing up... I went to go try it for myself just to mess around see what progress has been made, and even know the texture pack is beautiful may I mention :), I stumbled apon coal... it seemed like cheating to even look at the thing because I saw the ore yes.. but the stone was x-ray like. I could see the caverns under the earth and everything.. I don't mean to be a burden and put more work on you than I should unless this issue is just focused on my performance and everyone else's is fine, that's okay but it seems odd yes?

I think that this is fixed in the latest upload.
I apologize for letting a faulty version go out.
Give the latest version a try, Doomdog09, and let me know if you still have trouble with it.

it appears the problem had been resolved but now ( unfortunately) the coal texture is now exactly the same as the stone texture. unless is started burning trees for coal its impossible to find underground unless I start taking every stone block in sight.

Yes. You have my permission.
Keep up the great work!

Oops, did not know I had to move the mod folder into "assets" to make it work!

FYI, i'd recommend Project Red support when it actually has a stable release. it's sticking the most true to RP out of all the potential replacements
