I liked the previous ones, but the new ones are indeed better!
I'm just not feelin' the gate yet, though. I see what you were trying to do but it just doesn't look... authentic, I guess.

I agree about the gates. They're not quite what I envisioned.
Too much focus on the pixels and not enough on the whole look.
I'll fiddle some more
still keeps getting better with time, and yeah i agree with headhunter the old ones looked good but new better. really hope you decide to do ic some time, would love my reinforced stone and construction foam to blend in better. also hope you do mobs some time, almost afraid (in a good way) to see how your mobs would turn out.
*edit* also do you think you could make a texture for mossy and cracked stone brick?

If I start using IC then there's a very good chance I'll texture it, too. What are the best things in IC?
Mobs... I look at Misa's mobs and I know I couldn't do better than that. They are outstanding.
I appreciate requests for specific blocks. I know I neglect the incomplete default textures. Mossy and cracked stone just moved up the list
What do you think of the new Obsidian? The old Obsidian texture was pretty boring for such an important block.
Let's face it, the BuildCraft tank texture I did is rather ugly.
I started working on a new design which is based on a 160 year old cast iron water tank located not far from where I live. It used to supply water to Melbourne in the late 1800s.
yeah i like that tank better, and I'm not sure how i feel about the obsidian, i like the new one but i also liked the old style. and best things in ic I'm not really sure, kind of a difficult choice

Live in the present, remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall. There is only now.
Best thing in Industrial Craft? Easy - Solar Panels; the capacity to use Sunlight as a form of fuel for every increasing levels of furnaces is just amazing. Its shortly followed by Macerator's for me - extra Iron is always helpful.
I'm loving the new stuff OzBillo; screen-shots to come TONIGHT - going to rock some Creative mode (Haven't played in Creative in nearly a year!) and really test out the overall feel of building with the texture pack.
Without a good reason to start using IC I probably won't get around to doing textures for it.
I need a bigger carrot than solar panels. More than happy with RP solar.
And having a big auto mine running gives me enough ores so don't really need the macerator.
But I DO want to be convinced to use IC ... keep trying!
Looking forward to seeing how your creations look.
My gut feel is that I'll need to tweak or redo some of the blocks so that they fit together better in large buildings and stuff.
See what you reckon.
some good things from ic
mass fab, once you have enough power gen you almost never have to mine again, although sadly matter cant make rp stuff so you'd have to mine for that. also full quantum suit is fun, jump 9 blocks high (boots), run like 3 times as fast (legs), breath underwater, never get hungry, immune to poison (helm), and immune to all damage (chest), at least while power lasts (and qsuit power lasts a long time, except the helm filling hunger burns power at a somewhat high rate, although chest is a little bugged and needs full suit to stop all damage). also a lot of the tools are really useful, like chainsaw and drill.
as i think of more i may edit this post or maybe make a new one depending how far along it gets. maybe we will succeed in getting you to use and texture it
*edit* if you end up trying ic and using it a lot for computer strain issues if you decide to use tons of solars for power getting i recommend getting the compact solars addon by cpw
Love the new tank! Much cooler than the previous one.
As for IndustrialCraft, I'd say the power tools and armor are the biggest draw.
Imagine a diamond pick or axe that never breaks but needs to be recharged after so many uses...
or a mining laser that can be used as a ranged weapon as well! No sense in carrying a bow when you're playing tech mods!
Faster furnaces that only use power when they're working - no more burining a whole chunk of coal when you only want to smelt 1-2 items.
Sprayable construction foam for building.
Mining machines that use a scanner to drill for all valuable ores in a 5x5 or 9x9 area below you - like a quarry but without a great gaping whole and all that needless stone and dirt!
Scaffolds, dynamite... the list goes on.
Suffice to say that IC2 is what brought me back to Minecraft after a long absence, and it's the one mod I just can't play without.

That quarry looks great! I really love the "old" look you bring to the machines. They look like the sort of thing one would find in an old abandoned barn or garage.

Here's my second attempt.
Better, you think?

Now, that's a sales pitch!
But, I do like my great gaping holes... :/
My great gaping holes feel less threatened, now
