So, looking at this mod. What it does is basically create single block items out of what used to take a large amount of redstone and repeaters? I remember building a xor gate for a drawbridge I made (so it could be activated from both sides independently) that took an immense amount of room. I may look into this mod.

It will do that and a whole lot more.

Scrumptious stuff. This stuff needs weeds growing up around the machine blocks, minecart, etc., instead of having flat grass around it in the screen shots.

Thanks, Jaycephus. I'll keep the weeds in mind for future shots!

The latest marble and basalt that I'll probably go with...
once I lighten the marble brick joins and move the basalt white spot :smile.gif:
Finally! Marble that looks natural when found "in the wild"!
I think that's always been the biggest challenge for texturing marble - to make something that is appealing when used for construction or decoration, without it standing out when found in nature.
I think sandstone has the same challenge - and while I love your sandstone for construction, it simply doesn't look right when I find it out in the world.

Here's a try of the swirly version using that texture you provided... kinda works :smile.gif: ...
... and here's the marble with a slightly smoother version of the basalt than my original (I'll move it's white spot more off centre, though)... and I think I'll put lighter joins in the marble...
I like all the wrinkly variations you've come up with for natural basalt. The problem is that we want three types of textures, natural, smooth, and brick, BUT we can only have two of these.
As much as I like the brick texture, maybe you provide the option in the customizer for users to pick a natural type and a 'dressed' type of basalt, so they can pick smooth-natural and brick-dressed, or they can pick rough-natural and smooth-dressed (no basalt-brick texture in their pack), or rough-natural and brick-dressed.
OR better yet:
It never made sense to me that quarrying stone gives us cobble, which is ugly to me. How about customizer options that allow the user to select from multiple textures for basalt (and stone as well), for all three types: natural, cobble, and brick. So, natural basalt (and stone) could be customized as rough or smooth. Then cobble, or in other words, quarried basalt (or stone) could be customized as 'dressed' or actually smoother in appearance than natural stone. Then the brick type can be customized as a brick texture derived from the smooth texture, or as cobble-like texture. It's more work for the customizer, and it is one more texture than normal, but it lets people pick exactly their three favorite textures out of several. Plus we then don't have to 'quarry' AND 'smelt' to get the smooth texture for building (if we don't want to). We should only have to 'quarry', then build, IMO.
With your natural, rough marble, perhaps a customizer option would let people pick whether the brick texture is rough-brick, smooth-brick or a smooth polished block of marble.

Yep. All good ideas, Jaycephus. I'll make sure to do something like that when I get to the customizer part.
I really want to try this pack out, but I seem to have trouble trying to get it to run. It's not that I can't get any 64x texture packs to work, it seems to be only this one. Any thoughts?
I'll need more info, ElCapitaine.
I'll assume you've already installed and run McPatcher because you've used othe 64x packs.
Does Battered Old Stuff show in your "Select Tetxure Packs" screen within Minecraft?

By chance will you be expanding the texture pack into Railcraft?
I haven't looked at Railcraft. I'll check it out.
If I like it, and it works okay with Redpower and Buildcraft, then there's a good chance I'll texture it, too.
The top is going to look odd when placed anywhere but on a floor, due to the fact that it's given the illusion of dimension by simply rotating the 2-D image by 90 degrees.
Also, the higlighting along the bottom "post" looks odd, for the same reason. Torches are tricky.

Eventually. I'm not really happy with the ores I've done so far. Tricky to get them looking good.
:biggrin.gif:
Hi Fochis,
I'm working on a better pure basalt.
And I'm trying to make the basalt cobble look a little less flat.
Your english is fine :smile.gif:
Cheers
