If you want some criticism, however, I have to admit the ores aren't to my taste; they look strange imo.
I agree. They're my first pass at the ores. I'll be revisiting those and others until I get something I'm happy with. For now they'll do as placeholders.
This seems to be going along great, and thanks for taking my suggestion to change the glass. Coincidentally, do you still have that texture-pack mix so the stupider of us can play with a semi-complete form of this?

OzBillo; I was wondering how hard it would be to include Bump-Mapping support in your eventual texture pack release?
I only ask because daxnitro has just released a mod that enables GLSL shaders; including Bump-Mapping. I genuinely believe your texture pack would look gorgeous if the textures were more "textured" :smile.gif:
That could be cool! I'll look at that when the pack is complete.

I'll put it on minecraftcustomizer.com at some point.

From the little bit I've done of texture creation from scratch, I have to agree that ore is tricky and it's hard to get a good, consistent look that is pleasing to the eye. I liked some of the results I got, but the tiles overall didn't measure up to what I had in mind.
I looked through just about every 64x pack around to find ones I liked, I eventually settled on Soartex's latest look, which I also use for ores in Buildcraft/IndustrialCraft/Forestry. But it took Soar many months of iteration to get there.

Yeah. Soartex's textures are awesome. He's a very talented artist.
Looking at his work knocks a lot of wind from my sails :smile.gif:
Yep. It's not dead, aranamor. Just verrry slow. I'm job hunting at the moment.
Although... I have done some 64x textures for Buildcraft and Redpower which will probably (some at least) go into Battered Old Stuff.
Alloy Furnace for RedPower...
Fillers, Steam Engine and Pipes for Buildcraft... Redpower wiring...
Thanks, LutherAD. I appreciate your patience :smile.gif:
Thanks, Fatels :biggrin.gif:
Thanks, Tony :biggrin.gif:

That's an idea :smile.gif:

When 64 is done I'll probably do a 128 version.

It's much better lately, thanks, aranamor. I've been resting it more.

i love your style, reaminds me of glimmars.
This just keeps getting better!
Good luck with the Jobhunt too.
May Ganesha, Brigit and Hermes be with you at the Interveiws...
Thank you, Dirk_Jimbrose. I hope it's a short search, too.
Thanks, jippii_ja! Glimmars textures are amazing.
Thank you, DarkMother.
I'm sure they won't mind if I bring your three friends to the interviews :smile.gif:
Thanks, HeadHunter :biggrin.gif:
I'm changing the RedPower insulated wires to give them a woven cloth style like in antique radios.
Suits the Battered Old theme better now, I reckon.
