New ore blocks added and the old ones moved to alternates.
Tweaked cobblestone with less blue. Much better, I reckon.
Tweaked grass in an attempt to make it a little more interesting.
if i compare both the old grass has a more dull look to it (which I prefer) and the newer grass looks fantastic...but I think the old grass suits the dirt better
although this (hopefully at some point) texture pack never disappoints
It's been a little too long since my last update. I've had trouble with my right/mouse hand (I think arthritis) which make it very painful to use the mouse. I've ordered one of those mousepads with the gel wrist rest which I hope will help a bit.
Meanwhile, here's an update for those of you trying out the Minecraft 1.8 Pre-Release.
Below are replacement chest files to go into the item directory in your minecraft.jar file (or your texturepack zip file).
Make sure the files are named chest.png and largechest.png.
I've also made a zip file version for 1.8 which you can use with the default texture pack. Get that here.
Put it into your texturepacks folder.
Then go into Minecraft and select Battered Old Sea Chest.zip.
Doing great so far, and sorry about your hand. If I could make a suggestion, could you move the windows to the glass-pane spot, and make glass look like grimy or scratched glass blocks again? It makes a lot of floating castles and model Raptures look like a field of windows.

My favourite kinda waiting.
The gel wrist rest helped the wrist a bit. But the tip and joints of my index finger still hurt. Not helpful for image work :/ Hopefully resting it a bit helps. I will return to Battered Old Stuff soon! (ooo.. maybe I should call it Battered Old Hands)
As for your hand; look after it - Having done some injuries to my hands/wrists myself I can tell you nothing inconveniences you like a b**gered hand. It sounds like you're developing a repetitive strain injury; I had something very similar last year - you need to "change-up" how you use the finger, and go easy on it for a while.
I tried swapping the mouse buttons but that didn't work out well. The middle finger started getting the same kind of pains :/
So, goin' easy for now.

The glass-pane spot is just for the edge of glass panes. I'm trying out a simpler window which might suit you. The first pic shows the 2 pixel wide pane edge I use. Let me know what you reckon.
Ok. I'll add them to the alternates.
There's already an alternate iron texture that I added in this post.
I hope you're still working on things, Bill - I love what I've seen so far and am looking forward to more!
I don't have a lot of time to scan the forums or play, but I do keep an eye on developments with this pack.
Hi HeadHunter. I appreciate your support and the nudge :smile.gif:
RL stuff has gotten in the way lately, but, I will attempt to restore some balance.
New update below this post.
Cheers,
Bill

...and everything looks fantastic! :wink.gif:
Thanks, zimplexx :smile.gif:
I have tweaked the grass a bit. But I think the biome has contributed a little, too.
Here's what it looks like from the same position as earlier screenshots. (see this post to compare)

Sorry to hear you been having hand problems. Hope the new gel rest helps.
I just repackaged the old one for 1.8. It's still a bit rough in spots.
I'll get around to doing a better one for 1.8 at some point.
Thanks, DarkMother :smile.gif:

Thanks, aranamor. And I apologize for taking so long to respond to your post.
