MultiGlass works great! I've added a screenshot of it in use in the previous post.
Do you think it would be possible to make normal glass (and other blocks like planks, cobblestone, etc) function like the MultiGlass blocks? As in, eliminate the need for a special block.
It would, but It would cause some incompatibility with the Connected Textures Mod. I tried to fix that slightly, but it didn't work so well. I'll mess with it again. I can always just do a version for those who don't use that mod (Who are those people?!)
And for other blocks, I can as well, but don't you think it'd be odd to hit a piece of cobblestone and have it change to something completely different? Then again, glass doing the same thing doesn't make sense either...OK >.> Anyway, yeah, I can. Just tell me what you want.
And, that furnace is hot. Both literally and design-wise.
I'm guessing you've not gotten around to properly work on the sidegrass yet? It looks a bit bland against the dirt, like it's a sticker on top of it or something. Adding something like a shadow under it or some tiny vegetation to make it a bit more dynamic would be awesome :ohmy.gif:
Birch trees also usually look better if you darken the sides so it give the impression of being more round and thinner than the other trees.
So is the theme of this pack sort of like a pirate/ island/ ocean sort of thing? I'd be interesting if you did something cool like make the birch trees into palm trees or something.
I think you should add some dirt to the bottom of the reeds, they stick out a bit too much, a revisit to introduce some depth will be good too.
Had a try of the dirt idea but couldn't get a result I liked. Dirt at the bottom meant dirt in the middle of reeds at the joins which looked a bit weird.

Let's keep it simple and stay with the one version.

Could it be right-click to make it less odd?
It probably is only useful for windows at the moment.
But could that be configurable? Let's say we stick with blockID 100 for multiglass (which can be changed in the created props file). And you say there's a limit of 16 possibilites for a single block (is that coz it's 4 bits?). Maybe write it so that glass cycles between 1 to 4, planks 5 to 8, cobble 9 to 12, etc. And if you had a config file you could change the blocks and ranges if you wanted. Each line of the config could look like... BlockID,TextureFilePrefix,CycleFrom,CycleTo. So glass would look like 20,glass,1,4. How's that sound to you? Nuts? :smile.gif:

It would be good if I could add a shadow on the dirt part itself and not just the grass. The whole biome-grass-grayscale-texture thingy limits me a bit.

The palm trees are a great idea. But they'd need their own leaves texture. Is that possible? And grow in a palm tree kinda shape, too.
The theme is just old stuff, really. How things looked 50 to 100 years ago, maybe. But that can include piratey stuff, too, as alternates. Like the porthole window.
Hi ozBillo, this is some very good work you have here. I've been working on a 64x pack for the last 3 weeks and I'm about 90% done with the terrian file, meaning 90% is my textures, not copied from another pack! But I know now I'm definitly using your reed texture, that looks great! As does everything else! I do think the snow has too many dark spots thou, it looks too dirty.
I also think I'm going to use your workbench(not happy with mine at the moment) and maybe your dirt texture too, I need to do some comparison shots to see which I like more!
Anyway, I'll be sure to link to your post after I post mine. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

Thanks, mote454. Glad you like it :smile.gif:
I do like my dirty snow, though. Where I've lived we don't get snow very often so it tends to be thinner on the ground and dirty looking. So I quite enjoy tramping across my dirty snow in Minecraft :smile.gif:
(Edit) and I'll be posting a better reeds texture shortly.
Now this is great work... and FINALLY an original texture pack! Precisely what is needed among all these boring clones of the few great texture packs out there. Can't wait to see this pack completed - keep it up!
Now THAT is the kind of brick I've been looking for all this time! I've seen some nice brick textures, but they always wind up looking too monotonous in structures because of the uniformity of colors. These bricks have variety and are done in such a way that there's no tiling.
I seem to recall having brickwork like that on one of the houses I once lived in. Can't wait to see what it looks like in game!

Once I figure out how to trigger only on right click, it is totally possible.
Cool! :smile.gif: Do you want a 128 version? It'd be easy in this case.
Very much so.
This is really coming along nicely. The latest screenshot with those torches gives off a better, more realistic vibe the some of the 128 texture packs. Mostly the torches.

I did add more shadow to the grass in post #186. Does it need more, ya reckon?

I've darkened the sides a bit and will post that shortly.

Thanks, Jonathan. I appreciate that :smile.gif:
