Saw someone asking for a "simple texture pack creation solution"
My thoughts:
I would love to see a texture pack creation tool/kit that allows you to edit/create textures and view them [in real time] or [as they would look in game] around a 3D model as you're editing them.
I feel like that sounds confusing.
Imagine you're editing the COW texture in an MSPaint style program, but to the side is a 3D rendering window, showing you the cow in real time and the changes you're making AS YOU MAKE THEM.

This would be awesome. Honestly I would love to tackle such a venture but I'm only in my first C++ class.
That would be cool. I really hate trying to make new mobs in Fireworks. I don't really care about the regular textures, but a mob tool would be most useful.
Unless it had all the amenities dedicated software like gimp or photoshop has, I don't support.

"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say that there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." -Frank Zappa
It would need to work for all blocks, in my opinion.
If you're going so far as to make it work for player and mob skins, then making it work for every other place-able block would only be expected.
I wouldn't expected it to do regular textures. They are simple .png files.
I guess I can understand not everyone feels comfortable editing the .png's. So a complete texture pack editor would be really cool for some people. As long as it did mobs that all I would need. They only downside is since the game isn't finished, it would break the tool every time there is an update.
I think someone might make a tool like this once the game is actually finished.

I don't see why it couldn't have these things.
