how do you install a texture pack for windows xp

I cant figure out how to get a texture pack on my computer. I use windows xp please help if you can.

okay I copied my files into my C: drive in a zip drive but how do I transport them over? thank you again

you just drag them into the texturepacks-folder that opens in the 'mods and texturepacks' menu, ingame.

okay got it, however now it shows that it has crashed, I have signed out and back in again still the same, any chance my zip file did this?

what texture pack are you trying to use?

if its over 16x16, use the patcher (its a sticky here, called MCPatcher HD fix)

make sure your not unzipping the downloaded texture.

put the zipped file in the "mods and texture packs" folder
