You should get some old textures ready, because they are gonna revamp a lot of textures in the next update, like you could make non-dyeable leather armor, with it's old texture.

Well, new armor has 2 layers (Pretty much like mob eggs), one of which is not dyeable. So the solution is to copy entire old texture there.
I split up the mid-beta one into a Early Beta one and a Late Beta one.
Also fixed the bow charging animation actually working in each except for the Late-Beta one because 1.8 is Late-Beta.
Also removed Tall Grass, Dead Bush, and Fern from each except for Late-Beta because they were added in 1.6 and the very first version of Late Beta is 1.6.

This is all a bit sudden, and I don't know exactly what you are talking about. Do I know you? It sounds like you are speaking about making texture packs, if so, some links or other details would be appreciated.
Where did that dirt panorama in the title screen screenshot come from? I have that exact version (Beta 1.9 Prerelease 3) and I can't even find it inside the minecraft.jar.

The dirt panorama is custom, and included in the texture pack.

I like it, a blend between new panorama and old dirt texture. It's a nice touch.
Edit: Don't feel the need to change it but to me the shadow coming off the Minecraft logo against the panorama doesn't look quite right to me (I know that's how it always wa but it wasn't always on a panorama background).
All 4 versions of the texture pack is now up to date with 1.4.1
The default colored leather armor is the same that it has always been, but it can be dyed like the new one (though without those brown, undyed strips) The beacon block is the same as default Minecraft in all packs, but that can be changed if anyone wants it to.
Some suggestions for the WIP pack:
Maybe old Item Frame texture?
The wood frame, but without the leather-ish back piece, like in Jeb's earlier screenshots of it.
(Also, the older item sprite for it)
And the older carrot textures, from the snapshots they were introduced in?

I love Minecraft!!
In the Classic/SURVIVAL_TEST pack, yes.

That's what i was kind of trying to say. Also, i think that the new food textures aren't that great, they look kinda out of place if you'd ask me.

Sadly, Exovian seems to be gone
