In the custom version you made for me, could you make all the log textures look like oak tree logs? and also make all the saplings oak tree saplings.
(I know it will be a bit confusing, but can you please do this for the custom version you made for me? :smile.gif:)
What would make me nostalgia even more is if you revert the glass and gold textures back to the way they were in 0.37 Pre-Multiplayer
*snip*
I believe this is already done in the Survival Test version.
Oh, speaking of Survival Test: if the purpose of that version is to use the oldest textures possible, wouldn't it make sense to change the redstone wire texture to that of the gears from Indev? I have some old textures I could fix up pretty quickly.

They would just turn out as akward red gears lying on the ground. And wouldn't it be weird if you could get gears from redstone ore?
I have a request: make the classic minecraft texture pack with invisible shrubs and wildgrass, as well as the half-shadowed ore blocks please! That would be amazing!

Actually, I know how to avoid making gears red. And to be fair, it's no more weird than coca beans making purple wool. I'll try to rig a demo, as well as my reasoning, later. For now, I recreated the old creeper skin from survival test. I based it on this image from the wiki, as well as some of Notch's videos.
Yes, they really were that dark :wink.gif:
Edit: In other news, I recall you weren't that happy with the customizer you made for this pack. Would you mind if I tried my hand at creating one?
Damn shame there isnt a mod that puts in the old lighting system.....the new lighting system looks really bad if you turn off smooth lighting.
Go to minecraft.jar\environment\ and there should be a png named light_normal.png in the folder. In theory, you could edit this to change the color of light, but I have heard that it may not work.

If I understand what you want correctly, you want the textures that are dark on the bottom and lighter on top (as seen here, here, and here). It is impossible to make these textures in a pack because the game applies one texture to all sides of the block instead of the three textures formerly used.
The glass used in the pack is actually the original glass texture; the free version was updated to use the new one.

Well, I can't argue with that first statement, we all make plenty. I'll try to better (and more nicely) explain what I was trying to say.
When Minecraft textures a block, it chooses a section of the texture pack for each side; so for a furnace, it would be something like "for the top, use this part of the terrain.png, for the front, use this part, for the sides, etc". For the gold, iron, and diamond blocks in Classic, Minecraft said "use this for the top, this for the sides, and this for the bottom", and there were three sections of the terrain.png that it used. Now, it says "use this for all sides", and uses just one section. All a texture pack can do is change that one section.

Hope that's more helpful.
yeah that helped, kinda wish mc's textures worked like they used to.... who knows someone may make a mod someday that makes mc read textures like it used to :biggrin.gif: (if it's possible), for your help you deserve a
