Blackmodule's Minecraft Suite is now taking applications for a pixel artist to design top tier 16 x 16(and more in the future) textures for all of vanilla minecraft textures(and possible more if we really like your art).
The Artist: You will be given great artistic and design leeway, with a few requests from us of course. We have a certain theme in mind which we would like the entire texture pack to be designed around.
General Theme: Pastel-esk colors, smooth surfaces for things like dirt and cobblestone. Basically, we don't like that the vanilla texture pack textures tend to leave you feeling dizy. Beyond that, we want to give BMS a theme.
Pre-requisites: Experience in pixel art along with a portfolio to show work. This portfolio can be as simple as a link to work you have done.
I hope to hear from many eager artists :smile.gif:

The mod you will be designing the texture pack for is in my signature.
I do like your work. Did you make that sand texture on the flatmap link, because that is the style I am really envisioning. It is unique, stylistic, and eye pleasing. If that isn't your work, do you think you are capable of work like that?

BlazingBird, I want BMS to have a completely different look from everything else out there. Having an official BMS texture pack will help in that endeavor.
JediJennifer - I like your final fantasy pack, you are obviously a pretty good pixel artist. I noticed however that you like to use what I would call "hard colors." Do you like to do any work in pastels? Perhaps any softer colors? Or do you prefer to work with hard colors.
That is the current dirt terrain in BMS. I love it. It uses soft colors and very good blending and shading for 16 x 16 textures. I would like to see how at least one of you do making a wood or cobble texture going with this same theme. Lets see what everybody comes up with. :tongue.gif:

Hmm, it looks like my dirt texture actually came from the painterly pack XD. I don't like some of the things in painterly pack though. Thanks for the link.

I just went through the different painterly pack variety textures, and, some of them were actually pretty neat. I like what they did with metal blocks. I didn't think you would make 16 x 16 so shiny lol. I also liked one of their ore sets, and one of their cobblestone textures. Though I would have to see the cobblestone one in game to really say I like it.
But yeah, the second set of ores on their materials page is pretty sweet. I would want diamond to look more like a gem though, like they have in their third set of ores.
