can we get all of the files for your glass even with the minor pixel changes? I'd like to see the actual final product in game.
Hello Jetstorm, I am so sorry that I missed your post, I don't know how I managed to, but I did.
I feel like a total forum n00b, heh.
I thought there was no interest in the glass, and when I saw the Mythros team might be sharing some of their assets, I thought my stuff was not necessary.
I have no clue about licenses but I'll state here that Levaunt's Derivation RPG is the only Resource Pack which has permission to include it for public redistribution. Privately people can do what they want, I guess.
Here it is working in 1.7.2 with Optifine Beta and Rei's minmap Beta
A question or two:
Am I correct in thinking that there are now 2 Derivation packs?
One being maintained purely by Levaunt and the Mythros guys, which is at 1.6.4 for the public and may be updated further?
The second, a "community" version which is based on Levaunt's 1.5.2 and which Levaunt is not adding more textures to, but is allowing others to contribute to, as long as the textures are found acceptable by Levaunt?
(A version which may already have some different textures to those available in the Levaunt/Mythros pack?)
Once again I would like to thank Levaunt and others for this wonderful texture pack.
If this contribution is unnecessary or unwanted now, just say the word and I'll do my best to edit or have it deleted.
I'm sorry to say that I have done no more than the clear glass.
I was still playing on a small 1.6.4 survival server until it went down suddenly.
Recently I had started playing a 1.7.2 server, but only Skyblock, and in truth I haven't even seen a stained glass block yet.
I'll have a look at how they are put together over the weekend, and see if it'll be something I can manage
Thanks for the reply, I'm just a little unsure if I should be contributing new textures through this thread, as I have so much respect for Levaunt's work and am uncertain of its status as a community project.
I don't have any amazing news, but the Mythros stuff is still chugging along nicely. It's plausible there will be a substantial update at some point, but again, no promises.
I did make this palette of most (not all) of the colors I've used. Labeled and sorted.
Nice, I will definitely be using that for doing some update stuff and mod support when I can Can't wait until Mythros is ready to go, I want to see all the awesome things they are doing.
Not yet, but I will say the thing I am working on is stained glass. I've always wanted glass to be semi-transparent, so I can finally do the glass design I've wanted for a while.
In my opinion the basic glass shouldn't even exist anymore.
Agh finally!
I actually created an account just now so i could comment my opinions on this texturepack. Myself and a group of friends of mine used derivation for the longest time, and all having some sort of art influences in our own lives, casually discussed its aesthetics constantly. We utterly preached this texturepack, and with darn good reason. It is utterly. fantastic, and i'm honestly sorry i never left my thoughts here sooner.
Easily the most attractive RPG themed texturepack i have ever come across, the colour palette is, agh! its fantastic! All the blocks work brilliantly together and I love the fact that it was more than clear that some blocks were meant to be built with others. It really made the game beautiful to play, and the clean vibrancy of the colours brought the most fantastic life to the game. My friends and I were always upset about how under-appreciated we felt it was, even if it was not entirely. I really, really really MORE than really adore Derivation, and miss using it terribly, as i'm not quite savvy with messing with resource packs to fill in missing textures, and i just..agh i really want you to understand how stunning i feel this work is!!

Mhmm. Mhmm. YES. What they said. Tell it sistah.
Stunning, under-appreciated, brings new life to the game.
I want to add too that I love the architectural design possibilities with this game and the continuity of the textures in this pack allow for some really fun combinations and coordinations.
I've been following this thread periodically for months along with going to derivationrpg.org eager to scoop up any delicious updates. Is there a way to donate to the progress of this pack? I know working on things like this is very time consuming and everyone's busy and so on - but just wanna say again that I LOVE what you guys do and can't wait for the next installment!

How's that new glass design coming along? Can't wait to see it. Also have you come up with a better design for the stained clay?

I really wish you would hand this pack off to someone that's willing to get it updated. I know it's free and I am grateful for the work that you've already put into this but there's a lot of people in the community that are more than willing to get this pack moving. I've been to this thread several times in hopes that it has made some progress and alas every time there's been none. I'd hate to see such an amazing piece of work die off.

The pack is being updated by the Mythros team now. Although they are busy with updating the Mythros project for the new updates so as far as Resource pack updates go, they are on the back burner. So for now you will have to deal with just having a semi complete 1.6.4 update unless you want to update the pack as an unofficial port yourself.
Thought I might add a few more notes of appreciation to this thread. There's not really much I can add beyond what has already been said aside from noting that I would like to extend my appreciation to those who have continued this great work. It really is one of (if not the) best texture packs I've seen anyone come out with.
I have a lot of great (and not so great) memories associated with my time spent in Minecraft, and Derivation is a pretty big part of that. Thank you for having been, and continuing to be a very enjoyable part of making those memories happen.
Just one question, though. Does anyone have a pack with the latest update as well as community stuff in it that they could maybe send to me? Just wondering. I tried going through the thread but the task is a bit daunting.
Yea it was released like 10 days ago but apparently has quite a few issues with CTM to say the least. A good portion of the CTM that I had working in previous versions are no longer working. Hopefully there will be a fixed release sometime soon.
I know this pack isn't updated beyond 1.6.4 but I'm trying to make some edits for my personal use since its my favorite pack. I'm having problems with the CTM on the stone overriding the new stone in 14w11b.
Anywhere the new stone is shown, walls, floors, in chests or the inventory its just the stone texture. If I remove the 'block1.properties' file it works just fine but I lose the ctm for stone.
If anyone can help or send me in the right direction for an updated version that someone else might have made that would be much appreciated.

In the bock1.properties add a line that says "metadata=0"

can you post your properties files for the stair ctm? I can't seem to get it to work on my end.

rename block1.properties to stone.properties
Thank you so much! This worked like a charm!
