First I will note that I'm not trying to sound like a pretentious ass when I say this, and I appreciate everyone's help working on this pack in their free time. However, I won't add any public made version to the OP until it's 'up to par' with my previous versions. The reason I didn't open the pack up for everyone to edit (i.e. Doku, Johnsmith) is because I feel those packs have been lessened by the mediocre additions to them.
That being said, the public version that Sheep has posted (a few pages back) is very close to what I would want it to be. And a new version on the OP is only a matter of time. If you are desperate to play this pack on the latest MC patch, then you can use Sheep's version in this topic, it works just fine!
As for all this new stuff in the snapshot, I will try and set away some free time to make a texture or two, to help get the ball rolling and provide a good template for the new plants.
And to reiterate, anyone is welcome to make textures and post them here. If they match the packs style well enough then they will be added in! With full credit of course.
I'm a graphic designer, I will gladly give you an hand. Just tell me what you would like I do.
Well we still need a GOOD texture for the hardened clay, and now we need all the new flowers, podzol, etc. from the latest snapshot as well. I'm currently working on a hardened clay texture but anybody is welcome to work on it as well, we're just gonna go with the best one.
Also, we could use new textures for enchanting table, large mushrooms, cake block and glass with ctm if people feel like trying their hand at any of those. (these are taken from the list put together by levaunt and zamaj)
TBH I don't think any of them are really in the style of the pack. Levaunt's pack is pretty dark, very detailed with a strong RPG theme. The colours are also pretty saturated and there's generally a quite high contrast too.
I don't wanna seem like an ass but those blocks would really just look out of place in this pack, there isn't enough depth to them and they lack proper highlights/shadows to make them really stand out.
If you wanna try again, download the pack and open up some of levaunt's blocks in photoshop or whatever you're using and really look at the style. That style should be what you're aiming for (although don't copy the blocks exactly, it needs to be its own texture to prevent it being just a recolour which are pretty ugly)
I'll echo what Sheep said. I should also add that my textures are strictly pixel art. There are many good tutorials on the specifics of pixel art around the web, and if you want to see how I make some of my textures I have a tutorial here.
I really want to help with texturing for Derivation, but it looks like most of the stuff that I'm good at doing (stone, metal, wood, non-natural stuff) is mostly done. I went with Podzol side texture for now... mind you this is my first time texturing for a pack that's not my own, as well as my first time doing 32x in a very long time...
On Dirt:
Overlay:
Done in 100% pixel-art as per specifications, minus the hue-shifting, which was done through GIMP. I don't really want to try the top texture unless you guys like what I've done so far, so I'll wait for feedback.
Sorry for my question!!!
There's a way to use the derivation in 1.6.4?
I really like this texture pack, and I can't find a way to use in 1.6.4
If someone can help me that would be great!
Sorry for intrusion!!!

As nice as that looks MacrossFF It doesn't really feel like it would fit with the pack, also the enchanting table side is too tall. On a 32x texture, the top of the enchanting table side is only 24 pixels tall, not the full 32 as you have there.
A question for you guys... I see that Derivation is being used in the Mythros project (here), and I was wondering if someone could give more information on how you and the pack's other contributors tie in with their project. Who designed the custom art assets, like the new weapons? And are they planning on sharing a percentage of the profits with Derivation's texture artists? Kinda confused as to why there's no word on the Mythros project floating around this thread... unless I missed something way back.
The work on Mythros is in a way separate from the pack. There are things that will appear in it that will not appear in the pack. As far as I am aware there won't be any assets made by the community here added to the Mythros version. There are some other artists there that are handling adding things on their end.
I am also contributing as much as I am able. For example all the weapon models were made by me; I've actually made quite a few that haven't been shown yet.
There are things I've seen in the screenshots and whatnot that would help so much with mod support stuff. I want all things Derivation I just wish I had more time (and inspiration) to texture. Being back in school is taking up all of my time

Curse PremiumI have made a charcoal texture though and I've been screwing around with hardened clay to try and get back in the swing of 32x packs.
I'll post what I've done when I finish off the new hardened clay!
