I love this texture more than any other I've found. Do you have plans to add to the Derivation? Like instead of just the beautiful glorious texture, adding your own sound and music? I believe Derivation could be a Ground Breaking Epic Resource Pack above all others. Can't wait!
Really sorry to leave you guys hanging in the wind here. I was getting close to a point where I wanted to put the pack on a back-burner and not think about it much, but this resource pack stuff threw a wrench in those plans. I might just put up the half-assed update I have, bugs and all, and if you guys want to sort through it you can; maybe make a community updated version in a separate topic if you so wish.
I'm not going to flat out call this dead because I may get a bout of inspiration at some point, though you should probably count on me not updating it.
Thanks for all the support you've given me, I really gained a lot of knowledge about pixel art and texturing through the pack, and learned how to interact with fans and tailor my art for you whilst sustaining my own vision. I'm going to take my free-time now and lean into a possible dream-job of making my own games. If any of you are, or know someone, who programs games independently and needs/wants to team up with an artist, give a holler!
So many amazing texture artists are stopping their work. Not giving up but taking a "break." I guess its time for a new era of artists which is pretty exciting. Lithiumsound is doing his own thing and lights or whoever is taking his place.
I'm sad to hear this, but I can certainly understand the need to put your professional life goals first. Anyway, good luck! I hope things work out for you.

I wish you all the best, it's sad to lose a great texture artist such as yourself. Even though the update isn't complete, would you mind uploading it? I for one am all for a community developed texture-pack since this pack is just too unique and amazing for it not to continue.
Definitely put up the buggy one you have. There are many of us who would be able to help sort it out and keep it alive while you pursue your dreams. Thank you for making such an amazing pack and the best of luck to you bud!
Sorry to hear that you're leaving but on the other hand I'm excited for what you could be doing in the future. I would love to see a game with your art style in it! (IIRC you did art for an indie game but the texture sizes were really small so they didn't have as much feel as this pack)
Thanks for all your amazing work!
I can't figure if I'm sad you're letting your "baby" living on his own now, or if I'm happy for you and your professional career.
All I know is we'll miss you, truely.

I am very disappointed, but I can't help but be thankful for what you have done. You have been an inspiration for much of my own artistic work, including several game prototypes. I can only ask you to release what textures you have, unfinished or not, outdated or not. It would be a real treat to see all of the graphics that never made it into the pack or were lost after updates.
Good luck starting game development, it has been a hobby of mine for several years (though I have never finished anything) and I too hope to release my own game someday. Now I know who to call if I ever need a fantastic artist.
I had to have me fix of Derivation, so I ran the TP through the McPatcher TP to RP converter. It works, somethings don't tho. Flowing water for instance is not. All new blocks and art also just take on the default art, which is nice, rather than being checker boarded.
I don't think we should make versions of it, just 1 version, which would be the continuation of this pack. This isn't like Dokucraft.
I agree. I'll have a zip of all my current textures ready tomorrow, and I will also post any guidelines I have for a continuation pack. I know for certain I won't make the textures 'free use' as Doku has done with his packs in the past.
I always really liked how this texture pack looked. It's always sad to see someone go, but I want to wish you the best of luck in your endeavors! Hope to see you around eventually.
I really want to continue it, because I'm really good at duplicating styles... but I am really not sure. I guess if enough people bombard me I'll make a sad attempt.

Can't wait to get the new textures, don't forget to add that 2x2 log top in there please!

I'd prefer to see you post some new blocks/items in the style first that isn't just recolors or slight shading adjustments before I'd bombard you with making a "sad attempt" at continuing the pack.
Just putting in my two cents:
To tell the truth, I would prefer that a continuation not be made. This pack was wonderful while it lasted, thanks to Levaunt's hard work and considerable skill, but I think that it should be left on a good note. To me, continuations always ruin the pack. I'm sorely disappointed in the Johnsmith continuation— it used to be my favorite pack before it was discontinued, and the continuation, as has happened with all of those packs in my long experience here, doesn't do the pack justice. Like the Dokucraft and all of the Gerudoku continuations, the "new textures" are either poor-quality attempts or old textures copy and pasted together/recolored; which, for me at least, compromise the quality of the pack as a whole. I would personally rather think about Derivation in the future as the beautiful pack that it was, rather than a mediocre community mish-mash.
So Levaunt; if you don't agree with me that's fine of course, but I would like to recommend locking use of your textures, and we'll keep watch after you leave to make sure that they're not mistreated.
I comepletely agree with you. Doku used to be my favorite until the community continuation. Though, honestly, Derviation is such a good pack that I can't really use any other texture pack now. I've resorted to default because I can't find any other pack that compares in the awe I had the first time I tried out Derivation.
Though if I were to make a continuation, I wouldn't do some cheap copy and paste of an old texture over, nor recolors. I always hated when texture packs did that. I would accept community feedback but not community texture themselves, because, as much as it seems nice, it divides a pack's value. I have experience in duplicating styles, as well.
