As for wool CTM I put together two images to portray two different types of potential edge stitching.
Just food for thought. I was thinking of patterns that would suit a variety of wool block uses. In the diagrams the thread is a darker colour of the cloth, but white or black depending on the colour might be cool too.
These are neat ideas, perhaps a simple corner design would be in order?
"Problem" with wool in Minecraft is that it is the block with most color variatons (by far). Therefor people tend to use it more as a general building material rather than something soft and wooly. Thus rendering the too much wool like wool blocks mostly useless (notice the word 'mostly', it is there for a reason).
I agree with your assessment, which is why my current wool is textured in that way. However I've gotten enough complaints about it that I should change it. I think I will lower the contrast on the new design a lot, so the stitching isn't visible from far away and will just look like a textured block; but from up close it will look more like wool.
That actually looks pretty damn good. I'm excited to work on a texture for it!
As for your stitching ideas, that's about what I had in mind. Just hoping I can pull it off in the right way. And pumpkins has faces in them because you can put them on your head.
I do rather like the idea of a rare four leaf clover, so that's going in. I need more ideas for very rare texture occurrences.
What about random foot prints? Random fluffy looking bit of grass that looks like a mob or animal trampled on it? Of course, since pretty much everything has square feet, not sure how you could make it clear that it's a footprint rather than a random square indentation.
The horse textures/armors/model appear to be straight rips of DrZhark's Mo' Creatures Horses. You could probably download the mod and make a horse texture based on whats in there.

Not a grass suggestion per se, but you could use the random feature of ctm and flip the grass texture horizontally to add some random variation to how it is rendered.

I'm worried they will change it, I think I'll hold off till a few snapshots.

That would cause some tiling errors with the tiles that aren't flipped.

You're quite right and this will be a bone of contention for those with OCD tendencies. I've used it in my personally edited pack and I must be honest and say the tiling anomalies don't bother me that much, but I guess this is dependant on personal taste.
The first section is how to make a properties file for the new CIT (Custom Item Textures) feature that is "hidden" in the latest MCPatcher. Different textures for Coal/charcoal anyone? How about varied textures for different sized item stacks? or special textures for example when you rename a diamond sword "Master Sword" it would change the graphic to be that of the Master Sword from Legend of Zelda? Well with the new CIT feature, ALL of those are possible! Can't wait to see what kind of magic you can do with this Levaunt!
Wait, woah. So that is in MCPatcher now?
I've wanted this for the longest time, mainly for "plant" items, like flowers and mushrooms. They always look so weird as items since they have to look a certain way to work as a block.
You can even have a tool visual look more damaged as it gets used, man this looks awesome! Thanks for pointing it out!

Someone's been showing some of that stuff off over on Dokucraft TSC

You are welcome good sir! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I'm loving what DW is doing with CIT, it looks great! It was those screenshots that made me take notice that this feature was available finally. Once I knew about it, I had to hunt down how to make it work!
For NBT tag's it has to be a specific value. So for example if you make the Master sword and name it as such, that texture will show up, but if you name the sword as Excalibur then you either will get CIT sword for Excalibur or your sprite wouldn't change. You can also specify it to where it must be named Master Sword and have specific enchants on it to get the sprite change. It is quite versatile in its current state and I'm sure it will get much better over time.
A few other things. Today I noticed the tripwire string texture seems to be misbehaving. Can anyone confirm that this isn't just occurring for me?
Another thing I've never noticed until now is that the minecart corner rails texture looks slightly washed out compared to the other rails textures. Not sure how to word it any better, but here's a screenshot. Hopefully someone understands what I mean.
I can confirm the tripwire does look like that. I can also confirm I couldn't figure out how to fix it.
The curved rails were slightly rushed, and need to be spruced up somewhat. Lack of anti-aliasing is also surely frustrating someone out there.
Also really like the idea for specific textures for each enchant, if it's even possible.
Hey Levaunt, Just want to give you a heads up that Kezza used some dokucraft textures (slightly edited) for the updated BTW support. On the items sheet - the pale yellow nuggets next to the poorly shrunken quartz are from Duru's Dokucraft Lush BTW support. On the bottom row the two omelets are slightly edited versions of my omelet texture that I made for Dokucraft's Mo'Creatures support. Also I'm pretty sure those goggles are from Dokucraft Thaumcraft support.
The yellow nuggets are Duru's from his Lush pack. The pandoku btw support took them from his pack. The goggles are from the Thaumcraft support but I believe they are a edited version of a Maple Story (the game) texture. The eggs are modified version of a texture that I made from scratch for Dokucraft's Mo'creatures support when I was helping out over there and still used Dokucraft. Personally I would recommend replacing those textures with something else that you made instead of using others works without permission.

Curse PremiumJeb said something about working with DrZhark, but we'll have to see.
